Would give zero stars if this was a bad stay but it was the complete opposite! 5 star! Great stay with comfy bed, sheets were nice and cooled which is great for my hot toes in this summer heat. Thank you La Quinta for the best night ever

This is a very nice hotel. It was so easy to book online as well as check in online. The desk clerk was very professional and the room was nice. The pillow put me fast asleep as well as the comfortable bed. The bathroom had plenty of towels as well as the shower was amazing. I will definitely return on my next visit.

We made our reservation a week in advance and requested for a room on the upper floors. We also called a few days before arrival and reminded of our requests for upper floor. When we arrived, our room on the upper floor was given to another and they said that they did not see any notes on our reservation. The front desk lady was not at all friendly and helpful. The daily rates are much higher in nearby hotels. We will not be returning to this particular location. There are many hotels in Portland, TX that have much lower rates.

. The beds aren't as good as the ones across the street and they charge the same. The breakfast is ok but not much to choose from.

For $219 a night I would have expected a much cleaner hotel. It appears new online and from a distance clean...but when we got in our room there was still hair on the floor in the bathroom, baseboard had about 1/4 of dust on them and probably have never been cleaned since the hotel was built, the hallways hadn't been vacuumed in god knows how long, and lastly the pool was area was dirty. The chairs were covered in dirt, sand and bird poop. One positive note is that the bed was clean and very comfortable. Highly disappointed with the lack of maintenance and housekeeping at this location. Could be really nice with some tweaks.

There was mold everywhere, in the coffee maker, in the AC, in the refrigerator, in the bathroom. The bed sheets and comforters were stained, pillows smelled horrible. We didn't use the swimming pool either might be contaminated. The breakfast is supposed to be available until 9am, it was 8:30am and they never refilled the trays with food. There was not even milk for the cereal or bread nothing. The cleaning lady was removing everything. I will not go back to this place.

I checked in to this hotel on 1/9/22 before my 7p-7a charge nurse shift at the nearby ER. I live approximately 20 minutes away but chose to stay at this facility because it is less than 5 minutes from work and I needed to come back to work at 1p on 1/10/22. My goal was to maximize the amount of sleep I could get in the 6 hours between shifts. When I checked in before work on Sunday 1/9, I asked the front desk clerk if I could check out late - around 12-1230 because of my work. The evening clerk assured me it would be no problem and to simply notify the clerk that was on when I got off work at 7am.After working all night, I was exhausted and ready for a good solid restful sleep to recover for another 12 hour shift - even if it was only 5 hours or so of sleep. The clerk that was working the front desk at 7am assured me it was no problem and stated "no one is going to be running you out at 11am, you're welcome to stay until 1230."Satisfied that I had confirmed the request and made arrangements, I went to my room and proceeded to set alarms and lay down. The room reeked of cigarette smoke so I had to spray some of my own air freshener but I was not going to make a fuss and request a different room since the staff had been so willing to accommodate my late check out request. As a nurse, I know we often must make compromises to meet needs.Just after 11am this morning, the hotel manager rang my room and woke me up - an hour before I anticipated waking. The manager asked if I was going to extend my stay another night and I said no, I had arranged with the front desk clerk to check out late at 1230. The manager informed me that was not an option and I needed to vacate the room now or pay for another night. Frustrated and exhausted, I said "fine but I need to shower and get dressed first."On my way out, I stopped at the front desk and this manager was who was working. I asked her why her staff had made this arrangement if it was not allowed. She stated that the only way that is an option is if I were to pay for a second night. I informed her that I would not have paid for a room if I had known that I was going to get an hour LESS sleep than I would have if I had driven into Corpus Christi to my apartment. The manager was unsympathetic and merely said I don't allow that arrangement and I don't know why the staff agreed to it. I will have a talk with them.I am extremely frustrated by the whole situation. As an ER nurse, recovery sleep is important. I entrusted this need to this hotel and was treated like I was doing something wrong. Next time, believe me, I will just spend that hour on traffic to go home and back between shifts.
