La Playa Saratoga

One of the better Tex-Mex chains in Corpus. This location has always been hit or miss with quality of service. They appear to have new management now and seem much better in that regard. The beef fajitas are where it's at. Get them "Las Brasas," and I promise you will not be disappointed!

My party of 8 had a great dinner here while visiting Corpus Christi. We went on a week night and it was really quiet, we did have to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated as we were told they were extremely short staffed. We honestly would have not even noticed the staffing issue as we had an amazing server who was extremely attentive the whole night. Sure our food took a tad longer to come out, but everyone's meals were delicious. Not one of us left disappointed. The adults all had margaritas which were perfectly made. I got the stuffed avocado again which was delicious as usual. I loved my beef fajita taco on the side, with perfectly seasoned and tender meat. I honestly was too full to even try my tortilla soup and rice so I can't comment on those. La playa is one of my favorite spots when in town and I would definitely return next time I'm in town.

Saturday night horror. No AC, hot drinks and a slow nasty waitress.This is not what I mean, when I sayI want to have a hot time. What's wrong, AC not working?It was a damn sauna in there.!!!

If I could rate the restaurant lower than a 1 I would. The food was horrible, I ordered enchiladas and the cheese was American hamburger cheese. The food was overpriced!! I also found a hair in the salsa. The only good thing about the restaurant staff was nice.

Pro: The food was "okay"Con: The service was horrible our waiter was working but going back and having dinner with his two female friends. They took up to 45 min to bring out an appetizer and one beer. We asked for the manager and our server said "I don't know where he is to be honest." They gave us some dirty plates. Over charged us on our ticket. We got to la playa at 6:20PM and it is now 8:40PM. We spent most of our time waiting for meals, and drinks. Horrible! Horrible! I suggest a different place.

Went to eat dinner on a Sunday around 6pm. The restaurant was not crowded (maybe 6 tables mostly 2 tops). Greeter almost sat me at a dirty table. There was only one waiter in the restaurant that I saw. After a wait of about 7 minutes the waiter came and took my order. I ordered the chili rellenos. I never received chips and salsa...maybe you have to ask for these now??? My food came in a reasonable amount of time, and looked disgusting!! It looked like someone's left overs. There was a small piece of a poblano and then nothing else but cheese. I couldn't find any sauce if there was any. And no batter on the poblano. I tasted so bland. This used to be a good restaurant with a good chili relleno.

The seafood enchiladas were really good. The price to portion ratio is on point. The service was great. They could change the music up, as some of the songs did have vulgar language. Overall vibe was definitely sports bar over daily spot.

Margaritas were good. Food wasn't amazing but it was good enough. The service however was AWFUL! When we arrived we were only a party of 5 (one of which was a baby not getting anything) and only 4 other tables in the entire restaurant were occupied (3 or which were already well into their meals). It took about 15 minutes to get water and tea. When the rest of our party arrived (5 additional guests) they were sitting at the table for about 15 minutes before the waiter even came over (at the time we were his only table). 2 other tables came in and had already received their food before he even took our order. We would see him just standing around and chatting with other employees while we were trying to just get his attention. Maybe he put little effort in because he knew due to restaurant policy he would have a guaranteed hefty tip, still not an excuse for terrible service.

Amazing service for even the largest of parties. I would definitely recommend this place

Worst service I've ever had in my life, empty restaurant and servers were out of uniform, chilling on their phones or just generally not doing anything at all. basically had a couple of teenagers running the whole restaurant. had To get up and ask for silverware, was not attentive at all, fajitas were burnt, rest of food was mediocre
