I liked the amenities that were furnished there. It was very useful having a kitchen. The sleeping arrangements and couches worked well. My problem was that we were told different things about parking. I was told that there were assigned spots and later on another friend was told that there were no assigned spots. I loved how close to the beach it was . The hot tub and pool were nice as well.

Beautiful, family friendly place to stay on the beach. I loved being footsteps away from the beach as well as having a pool, hot tub, and tennis court on site.

Wonderful room #303. Really comfortable beds, very clean, 2 pools and hot tubs. Nest to a great beach, this is my second stay. Full kitchen, washer and dryer, cable TV, nice balcony. This place is a bargain!

After 6 1/2 years of loyalty to La Mirage as repeat customers, it's about time I write a review and explain why this year may be our last.As we all know the economy has taken a few hits over the past years, many families having to limit vacations or axe them all together; with an end result being that touristy places like La Mirage are forced to make cuts... Oh 'La,' you shouldn't have let go of the following: 1) Free chair and umbrella usage (formerly offered at the end of the boardwalk to guests). This was an awesome amenity they had; you could not find this elsewhere in Port A! 2) Spray downs at the boardwalk (formerly had an employee spray down your sandy beach toys, ice chests, chairs and other items before dragging them back to your room). It seems mundane, but it was helpful. 3) Lifeguards (I can swim, my kids can swim--but another set of eyes is always nice; or someone to tell the kids to stop running around the pool.)4) General Upkeep - this place is falling apart, literally it looks like part of the ceiling is missing near the pit area; the elevator was missing paneling in the ceiling and looked like it needed to be replaced all together. Don't get me wrong they maintain the property, excellent landscaping, but the facility itself could use an overhaul. For Pete's sake, update the resort. It could use a general overhaul, as pricey as it is. The rec room could use a little 2012 love--the rooms even with the trying to be hip flat screens could use a little jazzing up (please note most are owned by individuals rather than the resort itself). The almost non-exsistent playscape is pretty boring, yeah-yeah we're here to swim and enjoy the beach, but the kids enjoy doing something outside the water. You would grab more attention if you did! 5) Discounts - we used to get a repeat customer discount for which we are no longer offered. We have a literal group of over 40 people, at one point 100 renting from the resort; that discount was well deserved! Especially after as many years as we have been renting...6) Towel service - you now have to wash your own towels or take them to the office and they will supply you with fresh towels; geez--holiday inn sounds nice; considering our room is quiet a walk from the office. I don't want to do laundry on vacation! 7) Trash service - take it out yourself now; this seems less and less like a 'vacation.' Rant away, I will... This year they started implementing a new rule: *Guests are required to pay $5.00 per adult, per day for a wristband that allowed access to the pool area, otherwise you would be asked to leave. Now, I can understand why they came up with this policy, but it is extremely flawed. If you intend to charge for a policy--enforce it; we had relatives who arrived the day prior and had no knowledge of the policy--needless to say I'm glad we didn't pay $5.00 a day for 5 days. *The pool is too damn hot, I can understand to an extent it's not going to be ice cold, but it literally feels like the hot tub. I'm lounging by the sea in 100 degree temps, my goodness I want to jump in a cool pool to 'cool-off.' *A few of the rooms are severely in need of an overhaul on décor, if you care about stuff like that you'll be less than pleased; but how often are you actually in the room? The good: - Opening your door to a beautiful ocean view, within walking distance to the sandy beaches, two large pools, three hot tubs, sauna's, luggage carts, basketball courts, recreation room, and a room to relax for an affordable price. We've got history--including one wedding on the very beach at the end of the boardwalk. -You can view the rooms online here: http://secure.instantsoftwareonline.com/stayusa/wfrmSearch.aspx?coid=1454 -Make sure you snag the 20% discount when you book online and if you're visiting during August 1st thru February 28th you can score the "Stay 3 nights get the 4th free" deal. Make sure you read the instructions--their discount policy is a bit of a pain. Ah, Mirage--we've had a good run, I am strongly weighing the pro's and con's -not sure if we'll be back to visit you next year; Port A still has our heart though!

It's easy to judge this condominium from the outside, but to be Honest my family and I had a Really Great Experience here! Both of our rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly to take care of the guests. Towels are exchanged on a daily basis and trash is also picked up daily.1st condo #216: 2-bedroom. Super Comfy. Nicely decorated. Bedding and living room furniture was fairly new and NICE. 2nd condo #119: 3-bedroom. Definitely outdated furniture, but that's because of the owner. It wasn't too bad just old looking furniture. The place has Two Swimming Pools. 1st one is about 2-4ft deep, great just for lounging. It also has two new 8-person hot tubs. The 2nd one is about 4-8ft deep, which is great for swimming and doing cannon balls. There are also 4 gas grills and about 12 small charcoal pits for General Use...1st Come, 1st ServeAll rooms have FREE Wi-Fi. Free chairs and umbrellas are also offered to guests. The office also sells bags of ice and frozen fish bait.

Y'all should really teach your cleaning staff that a reply when a customer walks by schlepping his bags to his room says "Hello!" it shouldn't be returned with "Ohhh Hell No." Perhaps common decency and being nice to folks is something y'all don't train your staff for, but perhaps you should. My expectations were low, and even this was so below bar as to be insulting. We won't be back. To be blunt, she should be fired - but whatever.

From the outside, I hate to admit it but I judged the place. It's an older set of condos, and due to being on the beach, the paint is worn and peeling, and the metal railings are rusted. But overall it was a great place. Our condo ( #101) wasn't anything super fancy, but it met our needs. It was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Slept 8 comfortably... for our group it slept 11 with air mattresses. Kitchen was a little small, but it worked out great. The two pools were nice, except it would have been awesome if either A) no kids allowed after 9 pm (pool closes at 11pm, and they are strict about it) or 2) extend the closing of the pool. I understand people have their family vaca's there, but for those who are adults only, the kids were a bit annoying. Not to mention the 14 year olds walking around with beer getting wasted and acting a fool.My only complaint would be the elevator situation. There aren't many, only one per "end" of the stretch of units, and they are super slow.

We stayed in #306, nice, very equipped condo, however, the standing water going into the resort is awful. Mosquito haven! We got bit several times unloading, walking/running to the main door to get into the elevator, even got bit in the elevator. Resort could build a retaining wall so the water from the grass area does not stand in the parking lot to park...this may cut down on mosquitos. They could spray, put mosquito dunks in the standing water, around building, etc. It was awful. We used up 2 bottles of OFF spraying around us, in our vehicle and on us. Ridic!! I understand that they're bad this time of year but we did not notice the condo doing much about it. We couldn't even lay out at the pool w/o being attached. #dobetter

Awesome stay, beautiful room and great location. I will definitely be going back. The condo owner had everything you could possibly need in the room for convenience.
