A photo of the bay I took with my phone one morning, approximately 70 yards from my front door.
Parked in my reserved spot, again nothing done. They did this multiple times.
Per lease windows cannot be covered but it's them so apparently they can do what they want which violates the lease
Empty beer can behind the AC filter

The prompt, helpful demeanor of all staff. The beautiful view over Oso Bay. Reserved parking spots. Limited neighbor noise. Its proximity to needs one may have in the city. The free food on occasion. (They gave out tacos) The secure feeling of being in a gated community. The gym equipment is in good condition.

Beautiful views and amenities!! The office ladies host several events for all residents. It is great getting to meet new people who live here. I have been very blessed to have my wonderful neighbor Jean!!

Mold! Mold! Mold! La Joya is an over priced shit hole on the edge of the bay. It was poorly constructed by unqualified laborers and is managed by incompetent staff. I had to stayed in 3 different apartments during my lease because of water leaks and mold. In my last apartment there were exposed wires and the windows leaked like a shower head when it rained. All issues I filled complaints with the city over. The management refused to have a mold abatement company come in so all of our furniture had to be replaced. This place is a toxic death trap.

We signed a lease in dec 2019 and have until jan 2021 until the lease is up. I am currently trying to break my lease due to health concerns with mold/mildew growing in the apartment. There is clearly quite a few water leaks in the ceiling (i live on the third floor) that is causing water to seep into the walls. The moisture is causing mold/mildew to grow starting at the ceiling working its way down. All they have done to date to fix the issue is to spray bleach in a half assed attempt to clean it. It always comes back of course because they are not fixing the actual cause of the issue and that is the water leak. The apartment is not insulated well AT ALL. The doors and windows have clearly visible openings that you can see to outside. The AC runs non stop and can barely cool the apartment to 72 degrees on a relatively cool day. On hot days? My apartment has gotten as hot as 77 degrees. The smoke detectors randomly go off at all hours of the night.. their solution? Remove the smoke detector claiming theyll replace it but its been like 5mo and they havent. The apartments are shoddy and the maintenance is not worth the 1400$ they charge you to stay here. Management simply does not care about anything going on in these apartments! I have water literally pouring from the ceiling and they dont seem concerned with this at all! Why should they? Long as they get your money on the first they are not concerned. Theres also a issue with parking. Good luck finding a place to park if you or your roommate has your own car. They give you ONE parking spot. So if ur roommate has a car? Youll have to park way down the rd and walk to your apartment. I could go on all day about this apartment complex and its issues. Its only ranked high because they offer incentives to residents for high reviews. Do not live here. Its not safe! Ive been sick since the day i moved in!

Great management and oversite. Complex is very nice and clean. Calmness during my time here, just some loud vehicles at times. But overall, it's a nice place to be.

Read Yelp & BBB reviews before moving here!!!2 weeks and I'm ready to run for the hills. Our upstairs neighbor stomps, throws stuff and screams day and night & management says too bad they been here longer you have to move.We haven't given them a reason to be loud at all but they fight so much and we get the worst part of it.Multiple complaints in the 2 wks and now they are creeping on our patio, our door and trying to listen into our apartment and trying to look into our bedroom window like creeps and this is being allowed by poor management. Rules are being enforced for us and not them, not sure why the problem tenant is being protected here I don't care how long they been here this is unacceptable behavior and to management this is nothing to worry about. Safety is not a concern they say....Update as of 8/26Absolutely no action has been taken against them, we have called the officer multiple times in the night, lots of complaints during the day and after hours. They let their child jump off furniture causing a constant and very loud boom over and over again and they bang on the floor (our ceiling) every single day multiple times a day. Insane how some people have no respect for others and not sure why they haven't been moved or why we are being looked at as the problem. Also towing is not enforced, they do not have enough parking available for residents and if someone constantly parks in your reserved spot you can't do anything about it but find a spot buildings over and walk to your building. This place is not luxury living it's turned out to be the worst apartment we have lived in from rules not being enforced, poor management, and multiple other neighbors yelling at each other through the night due to noise complaints and management not taking care of it or people parking in other peoples reserved parking spots so clearly we aren't the only ones having issues here. When management doesn't enforce their own rules it creates chaos which is exactly what is happening here.8/31 Complex is now retaliating and violating us for noise when we haven't even been in our apartment and they did not have proof but we are required to show proof for complaints. My husband has been working out of town & I've been in & out of the hospital so I have excuses for not being home they are claiming we are causing harm to their well being when that's what they have done to us. I have documentation as well but this is stupid just save yourself the headache and money DO NOT MOVE HERE! ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE

Very poor management/ownership. The apartments are okay, assuming you're one of the lucky ones who isn't complaining about mold colonizing in their lungs. Unable to get internet faster than 50 Mbps, so if you're looking to do anything online that requires more bandwidth than a facetime, good luck. If you move out and they have an outstanding balance on your account for cleaning fees, you won't find out until collections contacts you. Seriously, they won't even try to contact you directly via phone or email. Don't live here. There are plenty of better options in Corpus Christi.

I lived at La Joya Bay Resorts for a year. During that time there were countless issues with the complex and specifically the office staff. I had several move-in repairs that took months to get fixed. One of the maintenance men suggested I used a stick to prop a broken window up instead of fixing it properly. When I first moved in, I requested to be notified if the bay front apartments became available in my building. I was assured I would be notified when their leases were up, and given the option to change apartments. My notification was a moving van, and to be told they had "no idea" about my request. I have spoken to other tenants about similar requests for apartment changes, ant their requests have been denied as well. The list must only exist for those the office favors. Although this is a gated community, the gates are frequently stuck open. During one of these times my car was broken into. The office management took no responsibility for this, yet happily charged me $150 to change the locks as a spare set of house keys/mail was stolen. The dog park on my side of the complex has been in shambles for the entirety of the time I resided at La Joya Bay Resorts. The jacuzzi has been broken for months. After the apartment I wanted was taken from me, I started looking for a new place. I ended up applying for a job out of state a few weeks before my lease was up for renewal, and requested that I be given two extra days to decide what my next move would be. I spoke to several office workers, including the manager Beth Scales, who all were far from helpful. Beth Scales said she would inquire to the owners, to which I never even received a phone call back. La Joya Bay Resorts appears appealing from the outside and the online photos, but renting from them has been less than ideal. I am a single nurse, and because they refused to give me two days to hear back from a job, I am now out an extra $1426 dollars to pay for an apartment I no longer need. La Joya Bay Resorts only cares about making money, and the office management lacks professionalism, compassion, and integrity. I warn everyone to be wary of leasing from this complex. The apartment complex took months to return my deposit, and lied about it being mailed. They assured me I would received It by 12/3, and the envelope was post marked 12/9.Heather Flores

Very poor management/ownership. I was added to my husband's lease in July. Despite paying to be added to the lease, I have yet to receive a device that opens the main gate and gives access to pool and gym. I'm continually told that the old devices work but the security system went down during a storm and needs repaired to allow new devices to work. They can't give me a gate device until the gate is repaired. There is constantly messages about car break ins and stolen items within the complex yet they've had a broken security system for over two months. Management blames it on the owners and says there is nothing they can do to expedite the issue. Meanwhile, I'm stuck each time at the main gate waiting for someone to go through so I can tag behind. There must be better/safer places to stay in Corpus.

My partner and I moved in February of this year! With the pandemic lingering and a very stressful move from Missouri I must say I was truly impressed! We planned our move two months prior and must have talked to every person in the office. From our leasing person to the manager. Everyone answered all our questions, concerns and requests. On our day a move, our transition was such a breeze! our apartment home is beautiful with some of the best views of the bay! We had a small issue with maintenance, they came out took care of it same day and we haven't had any issues since! Our neighbors are great! We love the functions and monthly Saturday Yoga! Very happy we chose La Joya Bay Resort! We definitely recommend!
