La Doble M Restaurant & Bar

We had a group of 20 enjoy a work dinner here. It's leaning towards gaudy but that's how all of these restaurants in McAllen are. Large and extravagant dishes, sparklers for special occasions, loud music, massive TV screen, and bright lights fill the restaurant.The service was very friendly and we all enjoyed our meals. The food took quite awhile to arrive but the place was packed and our table was huge, so that was expected.The octopus appetizer was somewhat chewy and pairing it with guacamole was interesting. The tray of meat was impressive and they have some high quality options. My steak was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the side of street corn.They come around with a dessert tray as well but the only thing we did was the huge cotton candy for a birthday at the table, which includes sparklers. The dining room is definitely constantly smokey from all of the sparklers constantly being used.

Excellent experience all around. Very nice place, great music, wonderful service, delicious food. Great meat selection. Also great cocktail selection. Clean and friendly. They take reservations. Must try their signature cocktail and save some space for their several delicious deserts.

A great place to for nice drinks and glamour atmosphere. Staff were friendly and welcoming. They have a pretty nice menu of food and appetizers. Tuna tartare crisp, Brussels sprouts and octopus was tasty and delicious. However main courses were pretty mehhhh. I ordered the slow cook beef rib...definitely way under seasoned...like I don't think there was any really. Had to use salsa and make tacos out of them to make them abit more tasteful. Dessert..,the cornbread one is Absolutely delicious!!! The Ferreira Rocher one was still super frozen and definitively wasn't tasty...overall it's expensive and not really worth a 2nd visit.

The great: the ambience and food is amazing! Not to mention the hall to the bathroom is social media picture worthy. We had the rib-eye tacos with an array of spicy sauces that mixed perfectly depending on your heat tolerance. We also had the prime steak and let me tell you it was exquisite. Plating was nice and unique. Service was top notch. The good: the bar has a variety of drink options with lots of show depending on what you pick. Upon arrival they bring you these tasteful bread/biscuits which is a nice change from your typical chips and salsa option. The bad: we had an early dinner so avoided the crazy weekend crowds. Also heard they have great desserts so drinks and desserts is a must.

This is definitely not a place I expected in McAllen I'm from Houston traveling on business. I must say this place is very upscale the outside seems ok but the inside is very upscale music is going pretty loud but not loud enough to where to the point you have to yell very good service. The tacos is the only thing I had and they were great for the price 3 of them are filling if you don't mind spending a bit extra visit if you're in town, you won't be disappointed ge throws great selection of music all in one place.

Food was way! Over priced, pushed drink and food suggestions on us as soon as we sat down and wouldn't allow time to look the menu order. Btw drink suggestion was not good. Order brisket and it was smothered in BBQ sauce to the point my eyes burnt with the vinegar. Ambiance was loud and pretentious, if you weren't 23yrs old, sparkling outfit, only spoke Spanish and didn't have a sugar daddy or mama then it's not for you. My fault I didn't do more research. And for some reason only the 4 pieces of free bread come on a plate, everything else is served on a different thing.

Definitely a place to visit, food was delicious, chic decor, competitive prices, nice vibe and huge screens playing music videos that will keep entertain all night. Staff was a bit disorganized and could have ruin my night but overall was a great experience.

excelente servicio, una atención de lo mejor , pero la comida deja mucho que desear , los tacos de ribeye tendría que decir que son tacos de bistec ya que está la carne picada como en cualquier taqueria, para un corte fino y comerlo en tacos es para disfrutarlo, el salmón de glaseado no tenía nada, esperas comer el salmón en una receta del chef pero esto fue espantoso, la degustación de sabores no te la puedo describir porque simplemente no tenía sabor la comida a nada.El ambiente está muy bien .

Not worth the price. First of all, service is excellent and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The food however, leaves a little to be desired. We ordered 2 apps to start. The queso and the roasted beets. The beets were the best item we ate all night. Great roasted flavor with a mild Creme sauce. The queso was cold and had no flavor (no flavor seemed to be a recurring theme in many of the dishes). We ordered the salmon and risotto, a ribbon eye steak, the pork belly entree and the waygu burger. The 54.00 ribeye was thin, under seasoned (only with salt) and served with a side of fries. Horrible presentation...no garnish or anything. The burger was dry and although bacon is advertised on the description, no bacon was aavailable. The salmon and risotto was ok but again, very underseasoned and was almost all rice with very little mushroom other items in the risotto. pork belly was probably the best entree which I thought was interesting as it was made more In an asain inspired style. Dessert was just ok. But at the prices they are charging...we were expecting a lot more in terms of flavors.

We celebrated a birthday and ordered a bottle of tequila, for starters we had guacamole, panela & queso fundido, entrees were salmon and chicharrones de carne. EVERYTHING was amazing, service was perfect, we only had one waiter and he was great (help from others since we were a big group) Music is loud but not enough to be annoying, the place is really nice. Will definitely visit again.
