La Antigua

09/09/2023 at lunch time for a Togo order, I ordered the Fried Avocado (really good & fresh) with Fajitas Beef & cheese inside, a lot of side dishes which including , rice, refried bean, tortillas soup, tomato lettuce salad, and chicken soft taco all that is $16.99.

The hotel we were staying at told us about La Antigua and we are so glad she did. This is a local joint that everyone can enjoy! The dining room is big and open yet quiet so you don't have to yell!We got street tacos and carne asada tacos! The meat in both of these was so tender and flavorful. You don't even need salsa! Not sure we will ever be in Port Lavaca again but if you are here, GET IN and get you some tacos!

We stopped in here on a trip from Corpus to Galveston. Great choice. The staff was so friendly from start to finish. The food was quick and fresh and cheap. The tea was great. I'm glad we stopped in here. I will be back on my next trip this way. We got the #6 lunch special and it was great. Only complaint was that the hot sauce had too much cumin for my taste!! But it was fresh and in a squeeze bottle which was awesome!! Chips were great, too!!

A port lavaca staple restaurant. Wide selection of menu items. Over the years I've tried a fair number of the options.These are our must orders: Appetizer: Seafood nachos: cheesey goodness on top of a bed of shrimp and the crispy nachos are the best! Shrimp cocktail: similar vibes to their salsa but is yummy, not quite enough shrimp and avocados in the cocktail but can always get more crackers. Entree: Fajita a la parrilla: meat and veggies comes on a sizzling pan with delicious coat of sauce. (2 tortillas included) The sizing of the portions is huge- we ordered appetizers and shared two 2 person portions for 9 people. One portion is good for two people at least. Order the fajitas a la mexicana if you don't want something with sauce. Other highlights: we also enjoy their endless salsa and chips and usually fill up on it before the food gets there.

Very good food the whole beans are like a soup. Full of flavor. The carne casada is the best I had you have to try their menu. If you do you will return. Enjoy your meal.

I usually enjoy this place, however I ordered something different this afternoon. I ordered beef fajitas quesadillas with rice & beans. Both side dishes tasted like they had been scorched. The quesadilla looked terrible, looked like a 3 year old cut it, the meat had no flavor & almost no grilled onion or cheese. I was truly disappointed. The servers did their job, but kitchen staff sure disappointed me.I Recommend the tortilla soup it comes with a chicken quesadilla. I've had it several times (mainly on cold days), and it was always delicious. Their fajitas & beef nachos have always been good. I'm hoping the kitchen staff was having issues that they will hopefully resolve.

The worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. I should have known when the queso came out and it looked and tasted just like melted chemical cheese. The fajita meat is very low quality. The beef looked like roast beef, and the chicken looked like shredded chicken. It tasted worse than it looked. My whole family left most of our food on the table. Plus the bill came with gratuity already added. Then they charge a 4% fee for using a credit card.

Very nice restaurant. They greet you right away when you walk in, even some of the locals eating. The place is clean. They tend to you right away. The wait I'd not very long to be seated , waited on or served. The food is very good.

Food is ok, service is ok, owner is complete trash and has the audacity to charge a 4 percent charge for credit card. He doesn't disclose this until you are at the till to check out. I highly do not recommend eating here as nothing is really that great and owner is arrogant trash and trying to gouge the customer for every penny as he is unable to run his business well.

The best Mexican food in Port Lavaca, everything on the menu is amazing n the margaritas are wonderful too!
