Kountry Bakery

This single star is for communication and customer service. It has nothing to do with product. I ordered two Dewberry pies for a special event to be picked up on Saturday. I was asked what time I would be there to pick up, and I said "noonish". I received no feedback, other than taking my name, phone number and acceptance of the order. I drove 35 miles to pick up the order and arrived at 12:20pm, only to find they had closed at noon. No one bothered to tell me their closing time when I ordered, and their closing time on Yelp indicated a 1 PM Saturday closing. If someone had called to ask me if I was on my way, I would have tipped generously for them to wait for me for 20 minutes. I called the Hallettsville location, which is open until 1 PM on Saturdays, and they had one of the Dewberry pies that I wanted. They offered to stay there for my arrival. I drove an additional 37 miles and arrived two minutes before closing time. I purchased other items totaling $70. I gave a $20 tip to the young lady that offered to stay there until I arrived. I will follow this review with a 5-Star review for the Halletsville location.

will never be back ... im sure they dont care but i need to say it anyways ... what a waste of business ... i wish i could take the one star away but i have to give it in order to post this

Great for breakfast - they have several other locations and all are good. The breakfast tacos are their weak spot - tiny and not that great but the baked goods work and the people are great at this location. Nice clean place with so-so coffee but great baked goods.

My husband and I were in Eagle Lake for a funeral. We had just been to the Kountry Bakery in Schulenburg earlier on the way to Eagle Lake. We didn't know there was one in Eagle Lake until we passed by it. Of course we had to stop in! They had dewberry and lemon kolaches, which the store in Schulenburg was out of. Had to get some. Delicious! Staff was super nice and the place was spotless. Glad to know there is this location in Eagle Lake. We come here fairly often, so we'll stop again.

Drove 45 min to get there. They had a couple of kolaches and they looked old. They were over an hour from closing. But the cashier said that they had already cleaned the coffee pot for the day and would not make anymore coffee. She told us to go to a bucees gas station for coffee. Won't ever waste our time stopping in again.

7AM On a Thursday morning, stopped in and tried a poppy seed and a cottage cheese kolache. Both were very good. They seemed to have the right mixture of light and fluffy and heavy dough. I would say it was in between both. There was enough sugar on the kolache, but not too sweet. I will stop in again when in the area. Very clean seating area and was full of locals having their morning coffee.

The staff is super friendly and the food is good! Good prices and always busy in the morning.
