Kloesel's Steak House & Bar

The ambiance is welcoming, comfortable and tasteful. Our server rated 5 ! She was friendly, pleasant & attentive. New to the area, she provided suggestions & information we appreciated.Unfortunately the meal, while generous, with soup & salad both included was Ho-hum. My salmon was cooked to shoe leather. Very disappointed. The waitress asked me how I wanted my salmon cooked, and I said "done, then we talked about ahi being seared". So I thought it was clear. But somehow chef took that as well well done. And the melted butter was so over salted so left unused. The baked potato was meh. Utility potatoes. My companion had the country fried steak, and although a generous serving, was fairly bland. We would return for maybe lunch but for our late lunch (2:30 p), with dinner pricing was a bit much to have less than stellar meal. Meal for 2, no drinks except coffee, no dessert, $75 with tip.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here as we were passing through Moulton. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere welcoming!

You know those westerns where some guy strikes it rich and then goes into town, puts on his best duds, and walks into the fanciest steakhouse in town to celebrate? That's this place. You could definitely film that scene here. And you could live that dream here. It's a place for ribeyes or prime rib, wine or bar drinks, and all the accompaniments you expect, excellently prepared (appetizers, sides, and desserts). It's an oversized place for the size of the town (Moulton, TX - population 854), but it's just off I-10 so it makes a great travel destination. That said, it's also the fancy dining spot for area ranchers, many if whom have made enough off their mineral rights to allow a fancy steakhouse to thrive in such a remote location. It's an experience. And I'm glad it's here.

The food was excellent! I've been here many times for drinks and a few rounds of pool but tonight we had dinner for the first time and it was delicious! This was by far the best prime rib I've had in my lifetime. Perfection! If you go, you must order the prime rib. House of Prime Rib, Estancia or Cut have nothing on this place. I'm so happy that it's so close to home. I can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!!

This is a great steakhouse Kloesel's Steak out in the middle of nowhere in Moulton Texas it's been here for a long time. Well worth the drive, we haven't been to Kloesel's in over two years. Happy to report that the steaks are still good, and the service was awesome our waitress Karen did an excellent job. Karen was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. She helping us throughout our dinner. I had The Prime Rib which was really cooked well good flavor. I love the onion rings and of course, they were served hot and fresh. We had to have The Cherry Cheesecake. I would definitely go back love the new white exterior.

So the wife and I decided to go out to dinner and we haven't been here in a long while. This was the place to go while growing up in the small town. Well after tonight, I will not be going back anytime soon or ever. The service was very very bad. The young girl that was our server took our order and we didn't see her for a long time after. Once people started to show up and she started serving them and noticed we haven't had our salad or bread. So she decided to come by and hand us a salad and bread saying she was sorry for the service. Then we waited for another 15 minutes or so then our meal finally showed up. Well the food wasn't how I asked so I was going to ask her about it. Well she never came back till my wife was done with her meal and I looked around and other were wondering if they were going to get any service. Long story short this young girl doesn't care about her job or care what customers think about the place. Well this will be the last time we come to eat here and I will most definitely let family and friends about her and this place.

Kloesel's is an awesome place kinda in the middle of nowhere Texas. I have been here many times over the years and it never disappoints. It's in an old hotel built in the 1800's. It has awesome decor and a relaxing atmosphere. The food is always top notch. Great flavors and tastes made with high quality ingredients. I had the Philly it is sliced prime rib with provolone and mushrooms and onions. My wife had the cheeseburger. We shared the fried mushrooms (not pictured) they were plump and firm not mushy like most other places. Crispy on the outside just perfect. We both had the Homemade Bread Pudding w/ Bourbon Sauce. It was warm and out of this world delicious. My wife said it was Just like the kind her grandma made. It was a very nice lunch date

Best steaks and service. Thank you Christa for a wonderful evening. We will be back.

Food is good but go on payday! One plate (chicken fried chicken, sautéed mushrooms, French fries and a coke) $28....I thought it was a mistake but it wasn't. The lady just said prices have really gone up (and they don't post prices on their website so you have no idea until you go to pay)

We live in Weimar and we drive to Molton to eat at Kloesel's at least once a month. The atmosphere is quiet conversation and good food. Steaks are always wonderfully cooked . Salads and soups are hearty. I love their blue cheese dressing . They have a large room upstairs for events and a big ol bar down stairs next to the restaurant. Highly recommended!
