Jypsy's Treasures & Consignments

When I'm in Corpus Christi, I like to stop by Jypsy's Treasures to shop for clothes. I got some brand new green pants and an embroidered pink shirt.

This shop is very well organized And had a good selection of merchandise without being crammed on the racks. The employees were friendly and helpful. The only reason I'm giving this a four is because I did not enjoy shopping while listening to Christian music.

I recently discovered this store. I needed a green shirt for saint patty's day. The ladies were so sweet and helpful. I loved the Christian music that was playing in the background. Everything was so well organized and clean. I will be going here often possibly once a week. I love thrift shopping and this is one of my favorite places to thrift shop in Corpus Christi.

They were the niceest ladies and had some of the coolest stuff. They had lots of Chico's stuff. Enjoyed the experience.

I've been coming here for a little over two years to consign my clothes and while it was never great from the start, I sucked it up for some cash. I will be going elsewhere from now on. * Get paid with a check? They charge a $2 check fee. *Not enough money for a check? They pay you cash, and when you ask what item it was for, they cannot tell you because apparently they don't mark it down. *Did they schedule your date to pick up clothes on Monday when they're not even open? Too bad, you may not come in their next business day, you MUST pick them up before --even if it happens to be before the weekend which is probably their busiest time. *Can't find an article of clothing? They'll charge you to go find it, so make sure it isn't on the wall or somewhere else it wouldn't normally be. *They moved to appointment only even though it was never more than a 5 minute wait to drop clothes (which keeps people in the store longer to shop BTW.) *Are you going to be 5 minutes late driving from out of town? TOO BAD because their clock runs 5 minutes fast and they'll cancel your drop off even if you only have 3 items to drop off when you can normally drop off 12, giving you plenty buffer time during your appointment slot. *While I was there the next appointment was 5 minutes late, did they say anything? No... When she was done in 4 minutes, no one else came in for the 10 minutes after she left and I was still finding my clothes, and it was not offered to drop my clothes off.*If I can edit, I will add the rest I repressed so I could keep consigning my clothes. I'm not habitual in tardiness, I've been bringing clothes for 2 years, my mom and I buy clothes from here, and I recommend people to shop here. After my last pick up, I will no longer bring clothes here, buy clothes here, or recommend this business to people. Being turned away from dropping off 3 articles of clothes for being 5 minutes late, even though they know you've driven 40 miles, is NOT how you keep loyal customers.

First time consigning. Never again. I had read others' comments about this owner's rigidity, and experienced it to some degree with the staff when I consigned, but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. When I went to pick up my unsold items 1/2 day late, the clerk told me it was too late and now they are the property of the store. When I talked to the owner, who just a few minutes before, had smiled and welcomed me, she was condescending and rude the minute I asked her about this. "Rules are rules and they are not to be broken," she said. I said "what about customer service for a first time consigner?" And she said no and she didn't care if I write a review. Then she sarcastically said, "Have a nice day." How old-fashioned and unpleasant they are. Afterwards, I thought what if the owner had said, "What do you think you will do with the items that didn't sell?" I would have reflected and said, "Probably take them to Goodwill." She might have said, "Well, we both wish they had sold, but since the pickup date expired, how about I try to sell them for a discounted price, and you'd be helping a local small business." I guarantee you that an approach like that would have ensured that the end result was the same for the store, but so much more pleasant for the customer and they would have not incurred ill will. I hope they will consider a different approach in the future.

Went after work and the ladies very nicely announced the upcoming closing time without being pushy in the least. Large selection and everything was in good to great condition - no stains, holes, etc. that you'll find other places. Pricing was reasonable with rotating sales on different color tags. Definitely will be back.

This business sucks for their consignors. I'm banned from consigning there because I reported her to the Better Business Bureau. I went to pick up my clothing that did not sell on a Monday not realizing they were closed on Mondays so I went the next day. I was told that the clothes were the property of Jypsy's since I was a day late. I then said they were closed therefore I came the next day at which time I was then told once again I should have come for pick up the previous week & that was stated in the contract which it was not. I then asked for my other items to be returned to me & was told that I could not have them. Yesterday I went in the business to pick up another item that didn't sell & my small check of $13 & was given the clothes that were rightfully mine to begin with that I had to sign for & saw the note of banishment permanently from the store which was fine with me because I wasn't intending of ever darkening her doorstep. So when I was walking out I mentioned to Jypsy I had no intentions of ever consigning there again at which time she started praying with her hands raised as if she was performing an exocism proving to me that she's a "basket case".

Have been taking clothes,shoes ,purses, and jewelry for severalyears. The ladies that work there do thoroughly check the clothes and whateveryou may want to drop off.I have never been treated unkindly byany of the staff, and I also appreciate that they only take only what is inexcellent condition and current season, because I shop there also.Kudos to you and your staff Jypsy.

I really like this store. I'm in theater so costumes are always easy to find but I went this past Saturday only to find out they are closed on Saturdays now. Since I live out of town and work M-F, I guess I won't be going there anymore.
