This was our first vacation on Padre Island, and we wanted to experience the thrill of driving a cart on the beach! NOPE!!The sand was so powdery and deep that the under-powered and governed cart couldn't go far without bogging down. We got stuck once, got some help to push, and got outta there! We found a small space near the water on the other side of the entrance, and parked/picniced there for most of our afternoon. Keep in mind, you can't really take the cart anywhere to do any shopping because the main street is off limits and the trail behind the shopping center is, too.Overall, our rental experience was very good. Online rental and reservation is easy, and makes the the pick up time much quicker.We definitely recommend Joyride ... just don't count on the beach to cooperate!

Rented the golf cart for the day while my mom was visiting! Dogs, her and I had a great time going up and down the beach, watching a sunrise and catching last beach church service of the year. Great people and great product. As a short term owner I tell all my guests to go see them.

We drove by this cute rental business on our way to dinner. We looked them up online and couldn't resist but to rent a golf cart for 4 hours to drive around the beach. It was spontaneous and it couldn't have been a better experience! Booking the online reservation was quick and easy. We showed up the next morning and our cart was ready and waiting! We were greeted by the owner with a smile, took note of the map with a few simple instructions. The cart was clean, gassed up and ready to go. We had so much fun in the golf cart and there were no issues at all. We returned the cart and had a nice chat with the owner. We will definitely be patronizing this business again on our next trip.

I know this place specializes in golf carts, but their surfboard rental service was disappointing. When we entered the shop, none of the five people behind the counter acknowledged us. It looked like it was a whole family with a few kids, and we were just awkwardly standing there and looking at them as we waited for the man to get off the phone. We rented all of their long, beginner surfboards, which was a grand total of three cheap Wavestorm boards. My friend said she has seen those boards for $99 at Costco, while we paid $330 total for those three boards for two days, which is very unreasonable. They didn't help us strap the boards to the car and were not very welcoming.

Had great service from both employees when picking it up and returning it as well. Quick and easy process to rent and drop off. The cart that we got was super nice as well.

Friendly service and nice rental. Really adds another level of fun and accessibility to your beach trip. Love that I can pay a small fee to not have to worry about refueling. Would rent again!

First time renting at Joyride and it was a great experience. Excellent customer service from beginning to end. We rented the 6 seater golf cart and it ran great and kept up well. Would definitely rent from Joyride again the next time we are out. Thank you Joyride!

Wealth of knowledge of the local area. From fishing to eateries and pointers to beat traffic. Military discount. Covered all the do and do nots of golf cart rules as well as etiquette. Cart met all needs and expectations. No issues. Transparent and proactive throughout rental process. Will rent from them again next spring break.

Had to haggle the price - NOT friendly. Went in the day before and was told a price - went the next day to rent and was told a different price. Also an in store item was offered for a reasonable price (it was unmarked) then was at a ridiculous level the next day. The buggy was fine. I think that all of them anywhere here are way overpriced.
