Jefe's Mobile Cafe

I lust over their Corpito Fries! I'm so glad they now had a restaurant now! It just reminds me so much of CA. I can't find anywhere in Corpus that has good Asada Fries until we stumbled upon their food truck a couple years ago. Their tacos and quesadilla is just as good! We haven't found anything as good as back home in the CA until now. It's a lot of food for the price. I just about to lose hope... This is now our go to for real street tacos.

I came on a Tuesday (parked at Fiiz) for their $1 street tacos. They had carne asada and al pastor so I ordered five of each. Love that they come with cilantro, onions, lime. and salsas! The meats were tasty but very salty and dry. Maybe it was an off day? It was okay but nothing amazing. But it's hard to beat a $1 taco tuesday so I do plan on coming back and giving them another try. They have other items like asada fries and quesadillas on the menu that sound good.

Had lunch today at Food Truck Extraordinaire Jefes Mobile Cafe in Corpus Christi. Jefe's Mobile Café is owned and operated by Local Chef Sam Silva.Some of the best tacos I've ever had. I tried both the chicken and beef tacos and they were equally delicious. They both came with fresh onions, cilantro and cheese in a corn tortilla. Eveything was made to order and fresh! Try it with their amazingly fresh green salsa. Not only were the tacos crazy good but their sides of corn in a cup (mexican style with cheese, butter, and lime juice!!) and their homemade charro beans. Man, was it delicious and, boy, did I eat way too much! We found Jefe's through their partnership with South Texas Grow Local. We know when South Texas Grow Local recommends an eatery that we are supporting a locally owned small business like Jefe's and we can support their use of locally sourced foods!

I waited an hour and 22 minutes for 2 orders of tacos and a corn. What learned from this is if you want a faster service you should order a family pack. They get catered first and come out faster than single orders. A lady got there around my 45 minute wait and ordered a family pack and a churro. Her order was given first plus I was told they didn't have asada for my 2 orders of tacos yet family packs were getting asada from what I saw and heard at the window and the couple next to me who ordered a family pack. My tacos had a small bone. Big Disappointment expected better flavor. Food was definitely not worth the wait. Only pro tortillas are good.

Pretty good truck to keep your eye out for. They had a special that was a dollar per taco so you know ya boy got two orders of 5 for $10 baby. I got 5 chicken, 3 steak and 2 pork, avocado was extra so I only got one w that but these tacos were nice and tasty I'd for sure go back. I'd say the pork one was the highlight of them all they were so juicy and delicious. Grab some of there verde sauce too it's great. Only downfall I had w it here is it was wayyyyy too greasy I had it running down my hands but that's not a big deal and my coke was flat as hell lol. But give it a shot and they just started delivery !

I highly recommend calling ahead. Waited in the heat getting bit by mosquitoes for 40 minutes! Not worth it

Best food truck we have ever had in Corpus Christi! Any bad reviews are NOT factual and are false reviews by disgruntled people. We buy the food at least once a week and have never had a bad experience.

The girl taking the order was rude. The windows and back door were wide open and there were flies in and out of the trailer. The food was way too greasy. The hot sauce was outside in the heat and accessible to flies and bugs.

Experienced Jefes Mobile Cafe on Thursday evening at Nueces Brewery. Ordered asada tacos, corpitos fries (w/ asada meat) and corn cup. Warning: the meat is not asada meat. Meat was ground beef and food was cold. The corn tortillas were pretty good.

Tried the quesi tacos and corpito fries and they were both amazing. Hands down my favorite fries I've ever had. The portions were also extremely generous for the cost. Would def eat here again.
