In the heart of downtown San Marcos. The "Shroom" burger comes with grilled mushrooms and grilled onions!These burgers were great, and filling. There is ample parking on the square. They are open until 2am, likely for the college aged burger eaters. The sides are priced separately.

I ate here again and it is still wonderful. My husband is in their birthday club...join it! They sent him an offer for a free milkshake. Of course, I helped him drink it, that's how I roll. Ha! it was so chocolaty. YUMMY. The order of onion rings that came out was a very generous portion, battered perfectly, and crispy how I like them. They also have a 2-ish to 5-ish weekday Happy Hour where milkshakes are only $3.00. What a deal that is, but I recommend calling to confirm. The employees were very friendly. The burgers are old fashioned, thick, and juicy. I'm ready to go back for more.

Because of all the great reviews, We decided to give this place to try while in San Marcos. This place is located in a very busy, dingy area of downtown. It took us 20 minutes to park! When we found the place, I was in shock! It's a lack-luster, run-down diner! No children's menu for the 4-year old. Classic burger for her, grown up burger for me, 3-pc. chicken tenders for the 12-year-old an order of fries (didn't know the entrees came with fries) and a strawberry shake. $44, thank you very much! Worst food EVER! The burgers were flatter than baloney, dried out, crumbled when you but into them, so much mustard you could gag, greasy beyond 20 napkins! Although I enjoyed the fries, the 4-year-old DID NOT APPRECIATE ALL THE PEPPER. The staff kindly replace hers, unseasoned. The shake was great! EVERYTHING ELSE WENT INTO THE TRASH! NEVER GOING BACK!

We decided to try Jax Burgers because our noses were drawn to the smell of their burgers, as we were walking through downtown San Marcos, my daughter was touring TXST. Jax Burgers did NOT disappoint! The burgers were so juicy and the patties were large. The fries were hot and delicious! The only thing I would change is their drink choices. Portions were very generous and prices are very reasonable for their food. We'll definitely be enjoying lunch/dinner when visiting my daughter.

Quick stop for a burger - definitely wanted a real, old fashioned-serious burger and that's what I got.Had the Jax classic cheeseburger, medium well, ordered online. Got there early and it was just getting finished so it was fresh, hot and juicy.I decided to sit down and enjoy it on premise. Really satisfying and perfectly cooked and prepared. Big and beefy and full of flavor.It's a college town, on the square, wedged between the bars kind of place but it hit the spot. And not ridiculous on price either. A+

The food here is amazing and such good quality, you can tell it's made with love and effort. Emily is the best, and we love her so much! We come here at least once a week and it never disappoints, the vibe and service is incredible. 10/10

Nothing special about the burgers, but watching them poke at the burgers in there frying wasn't appealing, frozen fries from some distributor, tater tots, same thing, frozen from distributor, not sure what kind of ice cream they're using for the shakes but definitely nothing special, didn't have any straws out for the drinks/shakes, place could have been much cleaner, and of course, there were no paper towels in the bathroom to dry hands.

The customer service was really nice and the place was pretty clean. This food taste so freaking good. I'm definitely coming back.
