My companion brought his car because the shield under the car broke while driving on the beach. Mechanic removed the broken shield at my companion's request. There was no charge! Thank you

Beyond thankful for the staff here!! My husband and I took a trip to San Antonio with our baby girl a few days ago. An hour in to our drive, in the rain, we quickly begin to lose pressure in our tire. We pulled over and GO FIGURE we had a punctured tire that was going flat. We had to switch over to a full spare until coming home, and finally 3 days later I was able to get out to get the tire taken care of. I called up to island tire + auto and the girl who answered the phone told me I could swing by at any point as they were slow. I pulled up in to their garage and explained the situation to an employee there. He pulled my tire out, assessed the damage, and had me plugged up and back on my old tire within 20 minutes!! We were expecting to have to shell out quite a bit of money for this, and only paid $15. I'm horrible with names and completely forgot the name of the guy who helped me out, but he was VERY kind (and super sweet to my baby girl) and so helpful!!We are a military family so will not be residents past the fall, but I plan to recommend island auto to any of our friends that move this way. Thank you!!

2004 Chevrolet Silverado. While towing my boat I lost all brakes. Scary as hell. Was able "limp" home using my parking break. Brake fluid was being spilled all over the road and driveway by the time I got home. "Limped" to Island Tire and Automotive. Lots, and lots of people and cars there. Sally the receptionist/cashier was very friendly, professional, and new all about cars/trucks. She set expectations that they were very busy and they would look at "my girl" and call me back to explain what needed to be done. Spoke with Sally later that day and she explained my brake lines had rusted through and needed to be replaced. She also set expectations on approximate cost and timeline. Told her I had to drive home that weekend and she said they would do all they could to,expedite the job. Friday, 3p came, and it was time to pick up "my girl". Considering all the work that was done, the work they did was very reasonable, fair and honest. Sally and the mechanics did a fantastic job, were fair, and treated me well considering the circumstances. Thanks Island Tire and Automotive (and Sally). Great Job!

Friendly staff and excellent mechanics. They had me in and out in 30mins and didn't break the bank. Only shop in town I'll ever use!!

Van is NOT running well so since I'm on Padre Island, my first choice was to take my van here due to proximity. The lady on the phone told me they'd take a look but they couldn't put my van on a lift. I have no idea why. It's 19 ft long and 9 feet high but every other mechanic I have since spoken with in Corpus Christi has questioned this saying they have the capability. One even said "I'm not surprised." I dropped off my keys early on the first day and she was snide and wouldn't even look me in the eye, and said again they couldn't put it on a lift. I reiterated that I knew that since she already told me over the phone (and she knew that, duh, she was just being rude and snippy), and I also reminded her that SHE told me they would look at it. Well, they never called me once the first day. Finally, 30 minutes before they closed, I called to see what the deal was and she said, "oh yeah, we didn't get to it today". She was completely unapologetic and unprofessional. Basically, honey badger eat your heart out. So, I had to leave it over night AGAIN and they said they'd call me when they were done. AGAIN. No call. All day. Finally at 3:30 PM she called and said "yeah somethings really wrong with it." DUH. I asked if someone drove it and she said "no, we just started it and it sounds really bad so we shut it off". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Hence, my rating. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in Texas.Found another garage more than happy to help. And again, they were baffled by this story.

Always very helpful and friendly. Much less expensive than dealer for recommended maintenance. I come her for inspections, flat repair, spark plug change, radiator and transmission flush, etc... Have only had one job they turned down, a radiator that needed replacing in an old Cadillac. They recommended Bear's Radiator Service. He did I great job. I appreciate them recommending someone who specializes in doing a specific repair even if it means lost revenue for them.I would highly recommend them!

I'm giving 3 stars only because of John and sally. I brought my Tahoe here when I was visiting from San Antonio because I popped my radiator they then replaced the radiator water pump and thermostat with my approval but didn't replace the thermostat housing so once I got back to sa it was leaking and I had to pay another shop to fix the problem I decided to give a second chance and bring my f350 for a simple exhaust clamp and ford had to send the band clamp the next day they said it should be ready in the morning I called at 3 pm to find out if it was done Rebecca answered the phone she then proceeds to tell me they haven't looked at it when I was there the prior day watching John pull the old one off. And asked me my last name I told her 4-5 times still couldn't get it right then when I tried to spell it out she told me to calm down and that it was done and hung up I had to call back and talk to sally to find out the price. Sally was very helpful and John was as well there 2 people I met are the only reason they are getting 3 stars if it weren't for them I would put a 1 star and say go find another place there will be a third chance just not sure when I'll be ready but I will give them one last chance to redeem themselves

Great service!!!!! Honest!! Took my car in to check the engine light that came on a few miles out before I arrived in town for a quick trip. I wanted them to check and make sure the car was ok for the drive back to Austin. They got me in checked the car and addressed my concerns very quickly and at a fair and reasonable price. The front staff (Sally) and the crew were all super friendly. I have never been to an automotive place where the staff was just so pleasant and seemed happy to be there and help. I highly highly recommend Island Tire and Automotive!!! A++++++ service.

Sally was nice. That was the end of anything good.I'm not even going to get into the fact that they held my car for 2 days for something that should have taken a few hours, and that's being generous for a brake job and an A/C diagnostic. Even the busiest shops in the ghetto can do that faster than 2 days. It doesn't really bother me that there was no clear communication on pricing, or the fact that they never even mentioned that it was possible that this could take days. These places are very busy. I understand that, so I can let that go. However, when I am sitting in the lobby waiting to give you my hard earned money, and all of it at that, It would be nice if the mechanic didn't come out into the lobby and LOUDLY and RUDELY announce that I have to pay for the A/C diagnostic, even though he was unable to tell me what was wrong because I didn't want to have to wait a THIRD day for him to get around to it....yeah, then it becomes an issue. Even Sally very clearly looked at me and said, "She's sitting right there," to this guy as he continues to talk shit about how I should be charged for all the hard work he did, and also have the NERVE to ask why I needed my car back....why do you think I need my car back???? Just wow. I can't even wrap my head around the lack of professionalism and lack of basic customer service skills this guy lacks. Don't go here unless you want to pay outrageous prices for work not performed, to have them hold your vehicle hostage for days with no explanation, and for the mechanics to treat you like dirt under their shoes!

If I could leave a zero on this review I would. Took my car to this company last Friday they called me this Monday told me that a fuel pump needed to be replaced it would fix my problems two days later it has not fixed my problems I asked them to replace the air filter or at least check it they said they did clearly they didn't because I have a lifetime air filter which the whole box needs to be pulled in order to check it and tried to charge me another $600 to replace it after they charged me almost $7 for the fuel pump that didn't even fix my problem when I confronted them about it they talked to me like I was a moron as well as the most horrible way I have ever been talked to and treated I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy stay away from this because they're not only gouging me as far as prices they're gouging every customer that comes in so unless you have six hundred or more dollars you're looking to spend on a vehicle that will not fix the problem I wouldn't recommend it.
