Oven/stove dirty and rusted.
Remote was left like this! The housekeepers don't notice anything! Don't expect the room to be cleaned!
Pier
Dirty cabinets
Caught these crabs in a small island area to the right of the pier
A plant growing out of bathroom sink
Other front door was bashed to pieces! It could barely be closed!
Holes on walls
Bathroom door falling apart. The bottom was even worse and dragging on the ground!
The walls have water damage and nothing feels clean
Mismatched, dingy towels but at least they did seem clean.
Dirty window, peeling paint, and full of cigarette butts.
Second hole in bathroom ceiling
Hole in bathroom ceiling
This is what they think is acceptable
Coach roach coming out of socket.

I had been to Hunts Castle a few years ago and my memory was of the pier/waterfront and excellent location in town. After reading the reviews I thought twice about booking here this trip but am glad I did. Overall yes - it's not a luxury hotel. If you need a luxury hotel don't stay here- but it certainly is not bad by any circumstances. There were some small roaches in the bathroom and the shower was kind of cool, instead of warm. We spent most of our time fishing and going out so we didn't worry about it too much. The beds were nice and I slept well. Great small kitchen area but no stove just fridge sink and microwave. TV was great and honestly the main draw is the location. You have access to a beautiful pier and all the water around it is great for fishing or crabbing. I would stay again- I'm a girl who is usually high maintenance and I was OK with our stay here.

This place is so nasty! We were greeted by a completely bashed up front door that was almost impossible to close. As you walk in, the smell of mold and mildew immediately assaults you. Everything is dirty, rusted or broken. I was afraid to walk barefoot in the room. The bathroom door and door between the two bedroom areas were both broken. The bathroom cabinets were broken and it looked like, from the mold circle above the bathtub, that the 3rd floor tub/shower (or maybe in toilet-gross!) had leaked into the 2nd floor at some point. Even though the room had been vacant, and supposedly cleaned to prepare for our arrival, there was a huge ashtry full of butts just outside my balcony door (even butts in my window sill!). Besides the view of the water and the location walking distance to town, there was nothing nice about this hotel, especially given the prices! Don't expect them to clean your room; they only hang fresh towels and an roll of toilet paper on your door handle. Additionally, customer service is almost non-existent! They take payment up front only, even when they have your card on-file, and request cash; even when a hurricane is heading your way and you may have to evacuate, they will not refund your money. I can only guess they do this because of the high probability that you will want to leave once you see your room. Stay away! These are complete shysters running this place. They are going to go on collecting money until they run it into the ground and it doesn't look like they will ever invest back into it. It would be merciful if the next hurricane just completely destroys it! Please don't give these abusers any more money. I travel a lot, from luxury to 3rd world countries and this is hands down, the worst hotel I have ever seen! I wish Hotel Impossible were still filming... this hotel needs it!

First let me say the pier was well maintained and as stated, one of the longest in the area. Okay, the rooms were definitely rough. If it was just for a couple of guys on a fishing getaway, got it. But to take a family...not so much. Musky smell, dirty sheets, mold throughout the room and just had an overall appearance of being neglected. The price, $55.00 a night probably should have been my first clue. So, if you're looking for a fish camp...it passes, barely. If you're looking for a family getaway...keep looking.

This place was DISGUSTING and I've been deployed. Not worth the $88 a night. The staff was extremely rude. Upon arrival we were approach by another resident who asked to buy my sister-in-law. For safety reasons, we asked management for another room and were ignored. The next morning, cops were on scene for vehicle thefts. The rooms were not cleaned. There was blood and piss stains on our sheet. Hair in the shower drains. Used toothpicks on the floor. None of the outlets worked. We left a day early and just cut our losses. There is no excuse for this kind if nastiness and unprofessionalism. If you do METH, this is the place for you.

We used to come here years ago and remembered a specific room.we got that room and it was disgusting.there was mold on the door jams , the microwave was rusty on the inside the headboard was falling down, the sheets were stained and there were cigarette burns in the bedspread.this is such a shame, because my husband enjoys fishing the pier.they hadn't removed nasty trash outside and the bbq pits are rust buckets.the One rocking chair no longer rocked.this place seems like Harvey just hit it and they just kept renting the place.not worth the 90$a nite for sure.

We were outraged! Everything looked so nice, there was a hot tub, nice rooms, and we were looking so forward to our stay! We arrive and the building looks NOTHING like the photos, we check in to our room which had dirty floors, dirty bathroom, etc. We decide to check out the hot tub, for we were looking so forward to it. We feel the water to find out it was FREEZING, so we ask the front worker if there is a way to turn it on, and he tells us it wasn't working and it said that on the website, which it did not!!!!!! We were so disappointed

This hotel has always had rooms that were a little run down, but it is really bad now. The pier has been its selling point brut even that hasn't been kept up with. Half the lights in the water don't work & there is zero lights for you to see where you're walking or be able to identify any fish you catch. The rooms are even worse than before. We killed at least 10 roaches in the room. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling. Housekeeping was a garbage bag hanging on the outside door handle with towels & toilet paper. We ended up going to Indian point pier the second night due to the pier conditions. The pool was also green. They offer 100% guarantee, but denied refund through them when Expedia called them. Do not recommend this hotel has went from bad to absolutely inhabitable

Worst place EVER! It's like a dirty ass motel place! The room we stayed in was filthy, had ROACHES EVERYWHERE! Under the beds, in the shower, in the kitchen area, inside and on the fridge, you name it! Big and small, it's like they laid eggs and the baby roaches were around as well! It was ridiculous, everywhere you look we was killing roaches!! Bathroom was nasty, it was just not well kept! I rate as a 0 if i could! Fans were soooooooo dusty and nasty, didn't even turn it on. Didn't want anything circulating in the air from that fan! Don't come here at all! Save your money and just go to a regular near by hotel or AirBnB!

Here is the June 26th reply from Ken Patel [email protected]:"I do apologies for any inconvenience, however, we can not issue full refund. If you had requested refund after checking in, we would have done it. However, we can not issue any refunds after the stay was completed. You did not mention about refund or anything at the time of checkout. I do apologies, but we can not issue refund after checkout and after stay is completed."What nonsense that I didn't mention "anything". I said the shower had mold all in it when I checked in and was handed CLR Mold & Mildew remover. He didn't even go look for himself or offer another room. I sent this email on Wednesday, June 19th, but haven't received a reply. I wanted to discuss with you the condition of room 103 on Sunday, June 16th.I am hoping Hunt's Castle will make this situation right.$159 is not an inexpensive rate. I didn't expect a completely remodeled suite after the August 2017 hurricane. I did expect a sanitary room. The black mold growing in the shower and on the wall behind the kitchen trashcan is unacceptable. The glass, Fritos, and cigarette butt behind the trashcan is a lack of work ethic. The outside of the range is filthy as well as the floor between the range and the cabinet. It wasn't a big deal for me to ask for 3 lightbulbs (lamp was lacking both and the bathroom light was flickering), batteries for the TV remote (check-in gentleman gave me a new remote because new batteries didn't remedy the original remote). Even the peeling of the bathroom door and cabinets wasn't a deal breaker. However, having to ask for mold remover so that I could try to clean the wall behind the trash can and spray down the shower was a horrible customer experience. The picture of the wall (attached) is after I cleaned it.I expect a full refund.
