Hoot's Country Kitchen

Not sure what has happened to this place. They have not been open since June of 2024. Assuming it is health related, but don't know. Really sad because the food was fantastic and close to home.

Finally figured out their opening system. They are open Tuesday through Thursday 11-230. It appears to be an old shack. The food that they produce is fantastic. We had Brisket tacos and the flavor was beyond description. The Service is a drive up window that accepts cash only. It is mostly a carry out restaurant. They do have covered picnic tables out side that are clean and comfortable.

Should I make one now? Even the people are nice. Its oddly weird. Oddly fun. Oddly satisfying. Oddly find myself pulling out my money.

We've been trying to try this place for years. It's located super close to our bay house. But because they are not open on the weekend and that's when we are here, no luck. I thought I'd get lucky since I'm down all week. Well it's Wednesday night and guess what? They haven't been open once. I don't know how you can run a business this way TBH. But it's rockport. I will say the food pictures they post on fb look awesome. Oh well!

A hootin good burger with incredible friendly service. Tried these folks out in a pinch for time, decided to pick up and take home. Really good, I would say the bun needs to be toasted a little longer. I will be back to dine in!!

Picked up some brisket and chopped sandwich (not near closing) to try out the new place. I am sorry to say that I make better brisket in my oven at home! The meat: WAS tender (pro) but NO smokey taste or even a "hint" of smoke. The sandwich: buns were cold to room temp, no BBQ sauce mixed in, looked like meat was just cut into cubes and set on bun (cons). Both items were served with COLD containers of BBQ sauce!!! For what I paid for this "sampling"...makes me not want to try again...I live here and the grapevine gets around real quick. FYI...Have been told that the Owner does not listen to complaints or suggestions.

Friendly folks, the food I would describe as fair. I did not like the home made chili, the hot dogs, or the brisket (bland). The jalapeno cheeseburger is good. My tater tots were not crispy. I eat there for convenience only.

Stopped at Hoot's early in the morning for breakfast tacos on way to the beach. Wow!!! Really great!! Gal at the window was very friendly and so polite. Asked for a menu for future visits. My new go to on way to the beach!! It's "cash only" which is also great!!

Very pleased! Think about it: a drive through restaurant in Rockport with friendly people and great food during a pandemic? If you don't like Hoots then your expectations are too high. Excellent breakfast, especially the BLT and burritos. A hot dog with chili is a must, burgers too.

VERY Disappointed to find that they only offer sandwiches..which I don't eat. Got the brisket and it was ok, but no flavor of smokiness. Nothing to rave about. Only sides to choose from are potato chips, potato salad & macaroni salad. Not going back here.
