It doesn't get better than Holiday Restaurant, in Zapata. The scratch prepared, high quality meals have certainly created many memorable dining experiences. The new menu offers excellent choices, including flamed grilled steaks, homemade burgers & fries, seafood, Mexican Food, salads, soups, appetizers & desserts.The well maintained fresh salad bar is the focal point of the dining area. Soup of the day variations, continues to impress me. At my most frequent visit, I had the Italian Sausage Tomato Orzo Soup. It was like nothing I've ever had before. The flavor was so addictively delicious! The soup & salad bar serving was included with the Ribeye Steak lunch special. If I'm not mistaken, I think Holiday Restaurant is the only restaurant in Zapata that serves flamed grilled steaks. My Ribeye Steak was perfectly seasoned & grilled to perfection! The homemade mashed potatoes & veggies, only added more flavor. It was an amazing deal for $12.99. Whenever I'm visiting Zapata for business, dining at Holiday Restaurant is the highlight of my day. Consistency, great quality & superior customer service has me coming back for more.

Very impressed with this restaurant! Clean, friendly, and good food!! Our party of six enjoyed the enchiladas, desserts, and really good hot sauce!! We recommend the "Holiday Special" chicken fried steak with white gravy and cheese & fresh cut French fries.

After reading about Holiday Restaurant on YELP and Trip Advisor I decided to give this restaurant a visit. I was in town on business and wanted to visit a local spot. I was not disappointed.The staff was friendly and on point. I felt welcomed at all times. The dinner (catfish and shrimp) was delicious. The portions were huge. Dessert was a millionaire pie that I took back to my hotel and devoured. It was amazing!The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of the temperature of the restaurant. I was so hot and left sweaty and flushed from the heat in the room.

Great food without the long wait. Service was attentive with your satisfaction being number one priority. We were a large group in town for Falcon Lake fishing. Tired of the long waits at the Steakhouse, we found this restaurant to be great. Meals come with soup and salad bar, the nightly specials were hot and tasty.

This is the only place I eat in Zapata. It is very clean. The owner Claudia is always there, friendly and attentive. They have the only salad bar in town and it is the best. (I have tried local competitors, "some steakhouse" where I waited over an hour for my meal). This is my favorite restaurant in Zapata with the best and fastest service in town for a restaurant.

First time in here and honestly wasn't expecting much after a few strikeouts at the other local spots. I was surprised when I walked in and was immediately greeted with a smile. I was seated right away and right off the bat, I had fresh homemade chips and salsa and access to the soup and salad bar. The salad is a mixture of different greens, there were lots of salad toppings to choose from, and there were traditional plus healthier options of salad dressings. The vegetable soup was simple, seasoned, and quite good. I ordered the grilled catfish and shrimp with a sweet potato. The catfish filet was huge! It was served on a small bed of rice and grilled perfectly. Before leaving, I had the pleasure of meeting Claudia (server/owner I think!). Claudia is very interesting and she gives off a positive energy. I was extremely impressed by her and the restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back next time I'm in town.
