Gumbo Seafood

This little gem is delicious. Everything we have ever ordered did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and engaging.

Made a stopped here from our road trip and food was pretty good. I got the enchilada plate, my mom got the seafood soup and my sister a shrimp plate. Everything was so good and service was great too!

Was on our way back to South Padre Island from Houston. The staff were friendly the food was full of flavor and fresh. Many different options from seafood to Mexican. The tortillas were homemade and some of the best corn ones I have had. The service was quick. They have a drive through too. Much better options than the chain fast foods in the area.

OMG love their GUMBO! A must stop on the way to Houston. Great customer service too.

I have the good fortune to live in South Texas, the undisputed home of Tex-Mex cuisine. There are many places that do a good job, too.There are a few places that do phenomenal plates. Some do fajitas the old-fashioned way. Others do unbelievable things with avocados and mangoes. GUMBO DOES CHEESE ENCHILADAS. When my plate arrived everything was bubbling at the edge. The folks in the next booth over could smell the delicious aroma of my lunch.The cheese, the gravy, and the beans combined to form a symphony of delicious flavors. The homemade flour tortillas were from a special corner of heaven.I have the good fortune to travel between my Aransas Pass home and my daughter's home in Goliad and I usually plan to lunch at Gumbo for their cheese enchiladas. Try them. You will be quite pleased.

The food is hot and reasonably priced. Service is good too. Had the gumbo; it was good but not one of the best sampled. Margarita was large and cheap but really a fruit drink.

I went to eat lunch and I got ignored by my server. The lady brought me a menu and asked me if I a was eating alone or with other people. I told her by myself, apparently she did not like that. After I answered her, she never return to take my order, I saw people come and the same server help get seated and take they order...they were are large party of people. I guess I was discriminated being a party of one. I went up to pay for my drink and told Manager, he didn't charge me, but he didn't care of what happened to me in this so call restaurant. I told Manager that I sat at table for over 13 minutes and not a single server came over to take my order or asked if I needed anything. I drive thru this town 3 to 4 times a month and I decided to try this PLACE OUT. THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVERY. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO NO ONE.

Love this place and the people. We had appetizers and drinks and were happy with everything. The jalapeno margaritas have just the right amount of pepper for me and I usually need more but not here. I have never found mushrooms that I like better than these. My husband loves the queso. It doesn't cook down quickly. Stays warm quite awhile.

The food was delicious! I came with my family and we all thoroughly enjoyed every single dish we ordered. We had alligator, chicken fried steak, chicken and shrimp, and beef tacos and loved every bite! The big red margarita was amazing and the service was impeccable. We never wanted for anything. I can't wait to come back as soon as possible!

Sometimes a cheese enchilada plate is a must and the Gumbo is the place to get it. Excellent eating, beans and rice were great and the chips were fresh and tasty. The Michelada was dynamite. Dangerous though, I could have drank 3 or 4 more. The carne guisada was excellent.
