Absolutely the best funeral home I've ever been too. These people truly have so much respect and compassion towards the family. The cost was better then most places I went to in corpus. During this difficult time the funeral director named Thomas walked me through every step and made it so easy to customize and make my father's funeral so special. I am 25 and never thought I would have to handle these matters but Thomas was absolutely amazing. If you need to have a service done please consider this funeral home, my entire family was impressed and grateful for their services.

This review is solely based on communication. I needed a copy of a death certificate. I was told to contact the funeral home because I am out of state. I sent in a request using the form on their website and was given a reply. I finally got a response today and obtained the document. Thank you for the amazing service.

My father passed away recently and unexpectedly , and looking for a funeral home is this area was very difficult. My family has only been here for about a year and after visiting many places that felt like "just another business" we finally made our way to Guardian. Our funeral director Thomas was one of the most heartfelt and caring people I have ever met. Not once were we treated as a paycheck or a job. The staff here made us feel comfortable, were extremely patient, and treated us as if we were a member of their own family. Through such a tragedy, I am so thankful for the members of Guardian.

I can honestly say i have heard some mixed reviews on this funeral home and cremation service. If you had a great experience i am happy for you. But my experience was not that good at all. You see when you run a business customer service should always be priority. Marc Fuentes is nothing but a vampire that preys on the weak and vulnerable. I lost all respect for this gentleman when he got upset and hung up on me while my ex wife is in there care. It all started well, but Marc Fuentes is short fused when very ill tempered. I refuse to let this man dishonor and disrespect the dead and their grieving family. This self entitled individual who sticks his nose in the air will one day realize he was wrong the way he treated me. Simply cause i suggested that my older son view the body. When you make statements like "this is a business" instead of careful choosing your words and properly explaining the cost, you make grieving families feel like their loved ones is just corpse in an animal slaughter house. Here is a big F@#K U Mr. Fuentes!! As a pillar of this community I'm showing you the same respect you showed me. At first glance, nice place! But during the service - as several family members and loved ones tried to speak about their loved one & pour out their heartfelt feelings & grief... Murmuring Voices arose from the back and after a while toward the front... It was so distracting!! .....And completely DISRESPECTFUL!! I was trying to hear their words but kept hearing loud voices and laughter beyond the walls & doors. It made me feel bad for the family - bcuz they were even closer to the front. Upon leaving - I looked in the lobby only to find that two services were being held during the same time frame. I suppose their start & end time were different - which explained all the commotion- but I WOULD NEVER hold a service for my family member at this place unless Guardian guaranteed there was not another at the same time. If Guardian knew they would be holding more than one service at a time ... They should have INSULATED the walls and put up better doors to the main area for sound. Thumbs down on this place - bummer! It looked like a pretty place... But I would not recommend it.

If you have a bad opinion or review of this business you are simply unpleaseable. The employees here are beyond caring and loving. I lost my husband very suddenly on June 6th, 2 days after our 25th wedding anniversary. Distraught isn't even close to what I was feeling or going thru. My husband always wanted no services and to be cremated. However, our daughters needed a goodbye. Since we were new to the area we had no clue where to go. I had seen Guardian on yelp but a bad review caused us to go to several other places first. All of which were cold, corporate feeling and the employees were like robots spewing forth kind condolences. I decided to ignore this bad review and I thank God I did. I'm sure my husband was guiding me in that decision because he always said "ignore 1 or 2 bad reviews because you know good and well there are people out there that look for anything bad and twist good intentions gone wrong just for the meanness of it". And as always he was right. Guardian Funeral Home is just that...Guardians! From the moment we stepped in we felt the kinship of family all around us. Thomas was our director and I can not say enough good things about this young man. He will forever be in my heart as my "Guardian" Angel because that's exactly what he was. He went above and beyond his calling. When I needed to just sit in the lobby so my husband wouldn't be there alone he sat with me and we talked. His words helped me more then he will ever know. Even the maintenance/cleaning man stopped and listened. Then hugged me. Everyone here took such great care of me and my family. So much so they felt like family and will always be in our hearts as such. Floyd looked so peaceful. You could tell Thomas took extra special care preparing him for us to say goodbye. The chapel is simple just like my husband. Large, quiet, warm, relaxing and full of love. You could feel the love of the families who had sat there saying goodbye to their loved ones before us. No pretentiousness anywhere....just love. You can feel it in every room of this place. It's in the employees, the walls and in the air. I thank God everyday for giving me such a wonderfully wise husband who taught me to see past bad reviews because if he hadn't this process would have been more trauma my family would have suffered going anywhere else. Guardians truly took care of my sweet Floyd, my family and myself. I would give them a million stars if I could.I would like to add a footnote regarding prices. We went to several other places, a few corporate owned, and for the same exact services they were all $3000 to $7000 more. Not to mention they all tried talking us into things that we really didn't need...taking advantage of our grief to make an extra buck. Guardian did not do this. They steered us into just what we needed, suggested thinking about things we wanted but may not of needed instead of buying through emotions....they didn't try once to take advantage of our grief. They did what their name means...they Guarded over us. Thank you again Guardian Furneral Home & Cremation...You are our Guardian Angels. God bless you all.
