Golden Chick

We are visiting the Rockport area this week and stopped at Golden Chick here in town.We were greeted promptly by a smiling, friendly young woman who took our order.The chicken was delicious--crispy and hot. The fried okra, very good.The facility appeared clean and organized.We look forward to another visit.

Great food and bit pricier!, the reason I go to Golden Chick, services is pretty good considering the amount of customers they receive at dinner time. I have to mention this about the other Fried Chicken restaurant in Corpus they gone to extra crispy chicken which is bit hard to eat as a SENIOR CITIZEN, that's their choice and removed one or two sides from the menu.

Best tasting chicken of the chains in CC. However, having to wait 45 minutes for your simple order to be brought to the counter kinda sours that one plus.It wasn't really busy, there were at least six employees in the kitchen area and at times more than that...a couple people showed up and not in uniform of any kind and started working as well. For some reason, they seemed to want to concentrate on the drive-up window more than those people who were inside and also waiting for their order. At the time I'd been waiting for 30 minutes, an order number higher than mine is called out and I approached the counter and asked if maybe that was my order and the girl (one of the two who weren't in uniform) said "we're waiting on chicken sir" and I said that I'd been there for 30 minutes...she did the back of her hand flip off at me....like "so what?". At 45 minutes, the woman who originally took my order went to prep some boxes for takeout and again called out the number that was higher than mine. They probably took my order. I told her that and she in 2 minutes time, fixed it by putting the proper number of pieces in the boxes and my specified sides.45 minutes. In that time I observed employees who were quite at ease carrying on a great deal of conversations while filling not one single order. Only ONE of these employees had any kind of hat or head covering on. Two male employees have facial hair and neither of them had coverings to protect the food. The two people who came in "out of uniform" to help...neither had hair covers...and the female had a long pony tail. Gloves not being worn by food handlers. As good as the chicken ended up being. I cannot fathom ever coming back to this location. Ever.

This was our giving them a second try at getting food there & we were not impressed. The restaurant was not dirty, but, it is quite worn & tired looking. The service staff was not really rude, however, they were, let's say, aloof. The service was speedy, which was nice. The chicken sandwich had breading that tasted like they cooked with lard, not greasy, but had a lard taste & it coated your mouth with a lard-like feel. At $5.00 the price was fair. We probably won't be back.

This place houses some of the most rudest workers of chicken I have ever been to . I don't know who runs their business but they obviously could care less about customer service I've complained too many times but their chicken is so damn good it's like that cheating boyfriend that you just can't leave. I wish someone would take over and give them some CHIKFILA TRAINING. The business would makeSome real money

Usually this place is on point... but tonight August 14, 2020 my family and I are disappointed. We waited for over an hour to place my order through the drive thru. When I finally got up to the window, the cashier tells me that will be another wait for the dark meat chicken. The cashier named Areciella could have mentioned that upon placing my order. I was ready to just get what they had and wait at the front door if needed to be but I couldn't get her attention even after honking the horn several times. When she finally handed me my bag everything was cold and squished. I didn't receive my correct order. I understand that they may have busy but they should have monitored and dropped more chicken to prevent losing the 5 customers that left before I got my order. Heavily disappointed tonight....and this is the only location closest to me***can the business manager message me on yelp?

So excited to go here... haven't been in years..... but you are out of straws, plastic ware, corn nuggets, jalapeño poppers, TEA!!!!!! Ridiculous.

Workers love to sit on their phone. My food was a small order but takes forever to get out.

The food is good but the service is not the best. I went thru the drive thru and waiting about 15 minutes just to be yelled at by an employee. If your systems are down don't take it out on your customers. I drove off after being yelled at. I don't deserve to be yelled at as a paying customer.

I understand that the price of food has gone up but the quality and the quantity is down as well.Decided to visit my local Golden Chicken, the mash and gravy was cold the gravy for the chicken tenders was cold.So basically if you like cold gravy this is a great place to eat at, and if you happen to go with a friend that is Hispanic, their chicken tenders will be fatter and bigger and yours will be puny and skinny.That's really nice icold mashed potatoes and gravy and small puny chicken tenders, and my friend gets bigger ones fat chicken tenders.This isn't an isolated incident we've visited it several times and it's always the same I get the cold gravy in the puny chicken tenders every single time. It's almost like is there warmer isn't on all the way and they're trying to save on electricity... If you want to get french fries that's going to be cold as well unless you ask for fresh hot fries if not they'll just give you what's sitting underneath the heat lamp limpy fries.There was absolutely no soap in the restroom to wash your hands. And I saw several employees go in there walked in the door so I guess they just weren't washing their hands either.Won't be going back to this location, don't get much for my money that I spend there.
