Fridas Mexican Restastaurant

The place itself is really cool with all the Frida paintings. The food was amazing. We all enjoyed our meals. Service was excellent too! Highly recommended this place!

Having spent significant time in south Texas over the years, I've come to think that the food, especially the Mexican food, in this region is some of the best in the world.I'm sorry to report that my food at Fridas fell way short of that expectation.I ordered the barbacoa breakfast plate.The good:- Service was friendly and prompt- Food came quickly- Coffee was goodThe medium:- The eggs tasted fine but were not cooked up to over medium as ordered. (Too soft).The bad:- barbacoa was very cold, full of fat, and oddly seasoned.- beans were not good flavor wise, not sure what they seasoned with but I didn't like it. Lukewarm.- potatoes were unseasoned, not crispy, and just sad.- Tortillas were flavorless and not hot.- Price wasn't too bad ($20), but I ended up going somewhere else to get food I would eat and that was much better tasting, larger portions, and it was $19. So I'm thinking this was overpriced for the quality.The vibe is good. Authentic South Texas Mexican restaurant vibe. Very simple.I took a few bites, paid, and left to go find another place to eat.2.5 stars because they were friendly and prompt, the eggs were edible, and the coffee was good.

Excellent food, service, desert. We were unexpectedly surprised how delicious food in this restaurant.

I want to give a huge shoutout to the staff for being so accommodating and providing excellent service to our large party of 30 people. We were all in town at a conference at the Omni. I called ahead and without hesitation they said we could come by for lunch. When we arrived at 1130, tables were ready and staff was as well. Service was excellent, food was hot and delicious and truly it's a gem to check out!

The tilapia was good but I was impressed by the tasty veggies! My boyfriend liked the enchiladasbut said the rice and beans were just alright. Will go back to try the breakfast.

I went right after work on a Friday and the place was empty until I was about to leave. The service was good, the waiter was very attentive. The salsa was really good and the cheese enchiladas were pretty basic. It's convenient to work so I'd pop in again on my lunch hour. If you're looking for margaritas or beer this place is BYOB.

Good food and good service! We had huevos rancheros and biscuits & gravy. Coffee is good too. It's right down the street from Selena memorial statue. I love all the Frida decor! I would definitely come back here again.

I stayed at the Omni for a work conference and checked out Frida's for dinner with my work colleagues. The food was amazing! And we loved the decor. I ordered the beef fajita plate and it was so good. The tortillas and rice were perfect. Everything was so good that we came back the next morning to try the breakfast tacos and were not disappointed. I had one barbacoa taco and a chorizo and egg taco. Both were incredible. I'll definitely visit again on my next trip to Corpus.

Surprising little joint with a homey feel and excellent service. I was quite surprised by the quality of the in house-made salsa with house made tortilla chips. We kept it simple, we tried the delicious and highly respectable tortilla soup along with the gordito burrito with fajita. Topped with goodness and paired well with the refried beans and arroz. The excellent locally sourced art work was appealing and tasteful and should be a must visit on your next trip to wonderful Corpus Cristi.

Great food and service, will eat there again!! We had breakfast, I had the Frida omelet and my husband had the BLT sandwich, both were excellent!!
