We really enjoy Fishtails! We do a little bit of cruising out of Galveston, and this is always one of the places we eat while we're in town. It's a really great location, right across from the Paradis dock area. They have their own parking lot, and so far we haven't had to pay the park! This time we shared the coconut shrimp. Comes with french fries and coleslaw. And coconut shrimp dipping sauce, which was very good! It came out surprisingly quick, and everything was as we wished! We love the upstairs balcony seating, which overlooks the boardwalk across the street. It's a casual atmosphere, well-maintained and clean. They also sell T-shirts and stuff. They have a bluebell ice cream bar inside as well. We definitely will continue to come back and highly recommend you try them if you have not!

Absolutely furious about my experience here. I only had one day to spend in Galveston and sooooooo many seafood restaurants I was trying to decide between and unfortunately I made the absolute WORST decision and my wallet suffered for it. I can't get another meal in Galveston to make up for it. First off we wasted 15 minutes trying to figure out where to park. We went into their parking lot and it said we had to pay $15 to park there. WHAT?!?! After circling forever got parking across the street but still had to pay for it. Anyway, we sat down and I asked our waitress for specifics on exactly how many pieces were in the combination fried platter because we wanted to know if it was enough to share. She said yes and that you get a HANDFUL of fried oysters and a HANDFUL of fried shrimp. Guess how many we got? TWO OF EACH! The piece of fried fish was also TINY. I was furious because she gave us incorrect information and this dish was tiny and cost $32!!!!! When I told her that we got two of each instead of a handful she just looked at me dumbfounded and offered nothing. No apology, no offer to make it right. Nothing. At the end of the meal when my friend asked for another sweet tea to go, she offered me one on the house - apparently offering me a $4 sweet tea was her way of making all of this up to me. I said ok and then she came back and said, "Sorry we ran out of to go cups." So that was the end of that. She again stood there looking at us like she had no idea what to do and offered nothing else. So let me get this straight - you lie to us about the amount in the platter but offer nothing to make it right. Then you offer to get me a sweet tea but take the offer back saying you have no cups and do nothing else. And this meal cost me $70!!!!!!!! I can't get my meal and time in Galveston back. Now I'm just mad at myself for not demanding some kind of a refund. Worst customer service ever!!!

This a review for the picky eaters like me who don't eat seafood! lol I got the grilled chicken with fries & veggies and I liked it a lot. The chicken was cooked very well and it was juicy. Fries were nice and crispy and my broccoli was yums.My friends who had seafood didn't feel the same as I. One of them expected more from the fish and chips since it is a sea food restaurant and said it was rather bland. The other said the pasta was okay but not great. We also got some drinks and those were pretty good and strong.I liked this place a lot and I thought the vibes and view were amazing. I love any restaurant that gives me a good view of the sea. lol & our serve was such a nice lady!

This is a busy restaurant across from Pleasure Pier. We came in on Christmas Eve for dinner and although our server, Synthia, was moving fast she was still pleasant and professional. It was pretty busy but the restaurant was still fairly quiet. We had catfish and fried shrimp, both were delicious, as was my margarita (original beachin Rita). Our dessert was way over the top. Strawberry cream cake and peanut butter pie. We are not sure which one is as better. We will be back.

Located right by Pleasure Pier and the beach Fish Tales is the perfect spot to check out while enjoying some beach time and soaking in the great weather. The restaurant is pretty big, spread over two floors, with nice outdoor seating that offers a great view of the surroundings.Service was top-notch. We were attended to promptly, and our server was incredibly attentive, checking in multiple times to see if we needed anything extra. It made the experience feel very welcoming and well taken care of.As for the food, I opted for the shrimp po'boy with french fries. The fries were decent, nothing special, but the shrimp po'boy was absolutely amazing--fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. My friend ordered the chicken tostadas, and she was equally impressed. Both of us left feeling satisfied and happy with our choices.Overall, Fish Tales offers a great dining experience with excellent service, a relaxing atmosphere, and delicious food. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

We stopped in on a cold windy day. My husband and I had a great time. Steve took excellent care of us. To our surprise it was Galveston Restaurant Weeks. So I got the Restaurant Weeks special gumbo, fried seafood plate and bread pudding. My husband got the fried grouper sandwich. We always get the shrimp kisses. You can only get them in Galveston and they are one of our favorites!! The only downside was they were out of the bread pudding but offered us a peanut butter pie that was amazing!!!! Like cookie dough on a chocolate crumble crust. Yum!!!! We will definitely be back

Best part of this restaurant, was the staff. Everyone was super friendly, and attentive. We had our small Frenchie with us, it had rained fairly hard before we came and they cleaned up our out door dining area super quickly. The food were great! Ordered some fish tacos, gulf coast oysters, and seafood platter. Everything was wonderful, oysters were fresh and decent sized, seafood platter fish was crispy and moist in the insides. The plate was super filling. And the tacos, properly grilled fish, with some crab meat and fresh vegetables

Ah .... Took so much out of me to write this review because I really don't like to give bad reviews. This place was awful.....Location 10/10 conveniently located across from the pleasure pier, with beautiful views if you sit in the second floor outside. Restaurant was nicely decorated. We decided to have dinner here and it was a huge mistake. We came in and took the elevator to the second floor which it smelled like musty wood.We were immediately taken to our table. Our server was ok but we had to keep reminding her about things like getting silverware.I first started with a cup of gumbo. Which when it came to the table was spilling everywhere. The gumbo had plenty of shrimp and fish in it, but he had barely any flavor. We decided to share the Fried Seafood Platter that brings Shrimp, oysters, fish fillet, crab balls, 2 shrimp kisses, 1 stuffed shrimp $31.99. The only good thing was the shrimp kisses. Everything else was flavorless and just bland fried rubbery food.We also shared the Shrimp & Crab fettuccineThat had Blackened shrimp, crab, andouille sausage, blackened cream sauce $28.99. Shrimp were good, pasta was grainy and sauce had no flavor. Don't ask me where the crab was because I didn't find it. Now the main shocker were the chicken tenders for the kids. They were absolutely disgusting. No flavor at all , rubbery pieces . The kids did not eat it and we left the entire plate. Server didn't even bother to ask if it was ok. There's literally a chick fil a right across from this restaurant and that would have been a better bet than this location.Overall this was a waist of $160.

While in Galveston for the Chirstmas holidays, we decided to stop into Fish Tails for dinner! While there, I ordered the espresso martini which was one of the seasonal drinks they offered as well as the Steak-N-Shrimp. The espresso martini wasn't as creamy as some are, but it was still good and I'd order it again. As for the steak, it tasted like scrapings from a charcoal grill which was oppostite of the shrimp which didn't have all that much flavor at all. The vegetables that were served with the meal were great and well seasoned (don't add salt without trying them - they're already at the right level). The restaurant was pretty empty which makes sense for this time of year on the island but services was great and the atmosphere was fun. I also liked that you can sit near the window and have a clear view of Pleasure Pier and it's an even bigger plus for me that they're dog-friendly.
