A music festival dedicated to Selena Quintanilla, one of the greatest Tejano/a singers of all time, Fiesta de la Flor is all Selena related. If you're a Selena fan, then why haven't you checked this place out yet?We decided to check out this festival back in 2018. My significant other is a die hard Selena fan. She worships her! Really! So I decided to surprise her with tickets to the festival. It was very reasonable in price. Each ticket was $50. It was a 2 day event with live performances from local artists and a few members from Selena's group. The festival ended with a performance fro Becky G. It was pretty windy when we were there both days. It is right next to Corpus Christi Bay. They had plenty of lunch trucks and open bars to enjoy. One of the highlights was the Selena was statue they had unveiled there. It was very full of people both days. At the end of the festival, they had a beautiful fireworks display. During the intermission sets, they had Selena music videos playing in the background. There was plenty of parking lots in the area. We had decided to Uber there, as I'm not much of a fan of driving while I'm on vacation. It is beyond amazing that the Quintanilla family and her husband, Chris Perez, keep the spirit and soul of Selena alive through the festival. It is beyond amazing that the fans come from all across the country to celebrate the life and legacy of such a beautiful singer who was robbed of her life much too soon. I have heard that there were plans to discontinue the festival. That saddens me to hear, as her legacy will alway live on. If that becomes the case, sadly, I can at least say we got to enjoy and experience this amazing festival. It was way beyond what I expected. If it does return, I'd definitely come back. Hey, Anything for Selenas!!!!!

#230-2016:It was only 21 years ago that Selena was robbed of her chance to change the musical world once more by means of her crossover album, when her life was tragically ended. All these years have passed and her fans have kept her music and the celebration of her life alive, specially the day of her death by celebrating the greatness of her life. Then, last year magic happened and finally CORPUS CHRISTI (along with many sponsors) finally decided to officially commemorate and honor their most precious flower of all.A week end filled with Selena's music and memories as well as Tejano music performers who have gathered together to still pay their homage and rejoice of the love and amazing music Selena has brought us all in her short life.Suzette may have chosen to never perform as a percussionist without her sister but she has made a few exceptions and has never given up on the family will to keep her legacy alive. Chris has gone on to become a great artist (the Chris Perez Project is but the last of many achievements) but has been, still is and always will be honoring his late wife and the love of his life.Selena's fans storm the quiet shores of Corpus Christi every March 31st and now have even more reasons to come, the Fiesta De la Flor lasts two extremely busy days, is amazingly organized and allows Selena's message of love and humbleness to live on.So, my thanks go to Suzette, the Quintanilla family, Chris and the city of Corpus. To this year's Fiesta De la Flor and to many more!

I went to #FDLF for the first time on March 25, 2017! It was so much fun!!!!! My little sister goes to TAMUCC and she has gone every year (3 years now) and it was also her 21st birthday. she wanted to spend it at the concert, So my mom and I went! It was a great experience, we have always loved Selena growing up, I was a baby when she was taken away but my family listened to her as I was growing up and I fell in love with her music! It was so cool to see her brother A.B. perform and the firework show was beyond spectacular!!!! Her legacy still lives and it was proved at the concert! More than 50,000 ppl attended! It was a family-friendly environment with good music all day! See you next year! #RIPselena. Gone but never forgotten! I will always listen to her music! She's been my idol since I could walk!

Let's start with no respect for Disabled Veterans. I was disrespected by a teen on a power trip at the box office. Disrespectful unprofessional staff that doesn't know the ADA guidelines or Texas law.. Unbelievably long lines. No accommodations for disabled individuals. Unbelievably long lines for one taco. 1 hour and 45 minutes is abysmal and any taco truck should be ashamed of themselves for not prepping accordingly for a festival of this caliber. Please research vendors before hiring them. The staff at the concessions was tired, cranky, arguably disrespectful as well. Surprisingly the bartenders, barkeepers, and bar backs / mixologists were cordial. Minimal seating. Buy a cardboard box to sit on because you can't bring in your own chairs. Keep it classy, Corpus. A complete waste of a 5 hour drive, $20 parking, $20 admission, and $20 for 2 drinks. I hope you are using this money appropriately and not lining the coffers of the admin because you are doing a diservice to Veterans and Texans alike. READER BEWARE DO NOT ATTEND THIS FESTIVAL UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF AND DISRESPECTED.( Port - o - johns are typically disgusting and not attended to but this was a new level. )

Took my wife to Fiesta de la Flora as her birthday present. I bought VIP tickets and booked 2 days at a Corpus Christi motel at about three times their normal rate. We drove up from the RGV on Friday and drove home Sunday. We had a good time but were also very disappointed. The VIP tickets are a rip-off!!!I paid $230 for two tickets including taxes for the two days. Our niece bought a regular ticket for $15 for Saturday to join us. We arrived together at about 2 PM and our niece got it at the same time we did...no benefit to avoiding the wait unless you get there an hour early. She did everything we did. There were no lines at concessions to jump to the front of...no benefit there for VIPs. In the "Chillout Zones" people without VIP passes were sitting around too...no VIP benefit there. We did receive a bag of memorabilia as VIPs which I would have paid $20 for had I known what was in it. Other than an overpriced T-shirt it was nothing of real value. By 5:30 PM we had done everything there was to do except listen to the rest of the artists (who we either don't know or don't care for) and the fireworks display at midnight-over six hours away! So we left early. Not to say that we didn't enjoy being there and hearing the artists that we did listen to. Some were great but the only seating was on hay bales about 50 yards from the stage. But in summary, we could have paid $50 +tax for our two tickets instead of $230 and gotten virtually the same experience. Our two days at Fiesta de la Flor cost us approximately $700 and we came home with a couple of bags of cheap junk and a couple of T-shirts. T-shirts in the merchandise tents were about $40. I agree with a few people who commented to us that the overpriced commercialization of the event and memorabilia just smears Selena's legacy. Too bad. Never do it again!
