We came to celebrate my mom's birthday at this local restaurant in Laredo and the servers was good. The food from 1 to 10 I'll write the restaurant at six please check the prices of the beverages the iced tea is almost 5 dollars and then the prices very on the weekend. It was one price on the menu and then the breakfast menu was delivered more expensive.

Working the Laredo Shrine Club's Car Show, a friend brought tacos from here and, I have to admit, these are the absolute best bean and cheese tacos I've had in my life...and I'm a San Antonio boy! Well done, y'all! Might have to buy a dozen before I leave town!

This restaurant has been one of my favorite places to go to in Laredo for more than 10 years. I even remember trying the original restaurant across the border when I was a little kid. Because I was feeling a bit nostalgic, my family and I tried this place out a couple days ago again. The papa Asada they have here is the best one I've ever had. It has the perfect combination of savory meat and delicious cheese. Even after 10 years the papa seller is still quite delicious. We also had burritos and a huarache which were great. Overall, would recommend anyone visiting Laredo who wants to experience real Mexican cuisine, and not Tex-Mex as seen in other parts of the state, to come to El Venado.

Came in here while having lunch with someone for a business lunch. They had heard that it was a good place to eat with authentic Mexican food.So we ordered a carne asada burrito, a beef salad and a chile relleno. My client loved his burrito and it was absolutely huge. Looked delicious.I had the salad and chile relleno and the salad. Man, the salad was pretty damn good. The veggies were very fresh and the meat was wonderfully seasoned (just the right amount of salt) and the chile was stupid good! I actually didn't realize the chile was covered in egg because it was so well cooked that I thought it was battered (so I regretfully didn't eat the egg part the first time around)! The cheese and the chile were cooked to perfection and it's one of the tastiest keto-friendly food I've ever had, hands down.I picked up a couple of chiles the 2nd time around and let my wife try it and she had the same reaction I did...it blew her mind! Then I tried it a 3rd time with a side of picadillo (which isn't very keto because of the potato bits), which I didn't try much of, but what I did taste was fantastic. Eating the egg part the last 2 times was incredible, it's so dense and delicious. The other thing to note is that the chiles are absolutely enormous, so if you think you want 2 for yourself, be prepared to save some for later. All in all, I'd highly recommend this place. Great food, well seasoned, perfectly cooked and at a fantastic price!EDIT: These are probably NOT keto friendly, as I just realized that the traditional recipe uses flour and egg to make the batter. Protip: look, don't think! And don't trust your wife if she's the type to just say things without really knowing for sure!

Are you serious! I paid 27 dollars for hamburgers. This was not nice. A flat meat patty. wow. This had never happened before. I understand prices are going up but this is totally unacceptable. They tried compensating with ham and bacon. Never again! The meat was tough and had a bad aftertaste

Great food and service. The food feels like home cook. The Caldos and Barbacoa tacos are the best.

This is an older restaurant frequented by locals way before it ever became big in Laredo, Although it's always packed in the evenings, it came from humble beginnings and now has a decent sized place to serve the kind of menu they've grown into. It's always been a great place to eat, and now I'd say it's even better. They have a large selection and serve generous portions of everything. There hasn't been anything that I personally don't like which I have tried on the menu. I especially love their taco de birria and the camarones con arroz y frijoles, very delicious. They also serve flan amongst a couple of other deserts. Everything is pretty great. You will not leave hungry, that's for certain. My only complaint are those cheap plastic cups they serve drinks in that can get to looking unpleasant, and the over abundance of dust collecting plastic plants all over the place, they're not needed and will only serve to dirty up the place. Other than those two things, very good place to eat in Laredo. Enjoy!!!

Local flavor, authentic food that was so good. We ate chicken street tacos, carne asada street tacos, a stuffed jalapeño. They serve 4 different salsas and they were all flavorful. The tres leches was the best I've ever had. I would eat here often if I was a local.
