So I gave the Vagoncito Chilango in McAllen 2 stars...this place deserves just 1. I usually take pics of my meal...but nothing to highlight here, sorry!I went for lunch and had a regular hamburger with french fries and a soda (can) for near $11. I don't mind paying for an $11 burger...but give me some quality meat folks. I will be honest...it felt like the low-grade quality patty available at stores that has heart mixed into it. It had a really soft texture to it...and no flavor to it. The buns were barely toasted...They give you the condiments so you can dress the burger yourself...but the bottles have no tops to them. On my ketchup bottle, on the tip, there was a dried up seed from who knows what. I can say I added plenty of ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to my burger...but none of those flavors came through. On the bright side...they gave me a side of beans even though I ordered a burger. The beans were tasty...and the fries were crisp and piping hot. But every time I poured ketchup on them, the dried up seed on the bottle kept staring at me. As far as service...I was the only one there during that time. The waitress took my order... brought out my food...and see you later. She was replaced with another one, and the new one didn't even bother to check on me. I don't mind paying $11 for a nice juicy burger...but it's definitely not here.

For the price of the tacos , it was not worth the drive. The tacos lacked flavor we ordered the alambre plate that was supposed to make about 8-10 tacos. We had more onion and bell pepper than what you want on your tacos. The papa was your average, nothing special nothing great. Our total was $35dlls for two people !! Honestly for tacos that's a lot. Ohhh and if you decide to go, make sure to say no to the beans that they " offer" when you are about to sit down. Those are not complimentary and they don't tell you that they will be charged until you get the bill. You are talking about a small little cup of beans for about $2. And they aren't that great. If you want to use the restroom, make sure to take someone with you. The restrooms are outside way in the back of the restaurant where it is dark and shady.

I pulled up and the waiter walked up to my car right away, took my order and less than 10 min It was ready, food was good hot and fresh, everything was really tasty and the green salsa verde was really good, I didn't even get to try the red. Prices are a little high but over all you get a lot of food for the price. You can also add a Mexican coke for $1 extra Next time I'll try something different on the menu. Good and fast service.

The service and employees were awesome, the food wasn't great the tacos de birria were dry and don't really come with anything. The sincronizada came with the tortilla burnt and bad tasting. I've visited 2 of their locations and have had same result in satisfaction I would not recommend if you want some traditional authentic Mexican food.

The tortas are really amazing! I have tried pastor and carne asada. They are big enough it is 2 meals for me. The little cup of beans they include were delicious. You can get a combo that comes with a side of fries and a drink and the price is very reasonable. I had been searching for a place that made really good tortas like we had in Mexico and this is definitely the place. I cant wait to try the rest of the menu.

Best tacos! If you want quality over quantity, this is the place to come. They are not expensive but they are also not cheap. They have great prices but the food quantity is not big compared to Herradura or other taquerias. The quantities are good but less than the competition. You get amazing tacos with great customer service

I was interested in trying this location out since they are building a larger location on business 83. It delivered! The service was excellent and the food was served quickly and fresh! If you're looking for a quick place to eat you have to try Vagoncito chilango out!

The food is amazing, however, the waitress was rude and kept rolling her eyes at us whenever we tried to customize an order. She never smiled and even said something like "gente culera ni un dollar dejan" when a table next to us left. I recommend the food but please ask for a different waitress. Maybe she was having a bad day or too old to waitress but she didn't have to be rude. She didn't even tell us her name, but she was the older one, the rest are young.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Lady was rude from the start. She kept making faces and did not attempt to be discrete while she rolled her eyes or to atleast hide the fact she was annoyed. Definitely not a place to return. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
