El Rodeo

This place was amazing in accommodating us. We called the day before to seat 20 people after a Memorial service and they were happy to serve us. We walked in and they had everything set up perfectly. We ended up having more like 30 people and they quickly set everything up for the extra guests. We were all so amazed about all of the employee's (possibly owner's) calmness and organization of the whole process. We all ordered a variety of food......our orders were perfect.......and the food was GREAT. Very enjoyable place to visit. Very clean.....Amazing Staff.....Great family setting.....Great food.....Great prices.....Highly recommend!!!

El Rodeo has made major improvements. Great ambiance, nice staff, good service, and good food.

Y'all gotta try this place!!!Ok, so, I'm back in Nixon, TX on business and after attempting to find a place to eat that is actually still in business, I end up back at El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant. They are very much open for business, to go & dine in. There was plenty of ample parking. I was greeted upon entry and served chips & salsa...both tasted fresh and delicious. Told my server what I was hungry for and she suggested several plates. I ordered Steak ala mexicana Taco & a cheese enchilada. Taco on flour tortilla was generous helping of tender beef and mix of tomato & jalapeño. Cheese enchilada, OMG, just light a match to it and would have become "queso fondido"...thick cheese and bits of shredded carne guisada in the mix... by far "The Best" cheese enchilada I have had in years. The Staff here is very cheerful, friendly & knowledgeable of menu. Worth the trip here and if you live nearby, hope you get here soon! "Viva El Rodeó" !

just passing through looking for a restaurant that was open on a sunday afternoon, which seems crazy to be closed on a weekend, but i found this place on yelp turns out they have Great food, great drinks, a very good ambiance. ( its also very clean, smells a little too much like fabulouso but i prefer that over other things) i highly recommend trying this place out if your near this small town. i had the barabacoa street tacos yummm!

Place had good music, waitress was friendly, service was fast, family setting and food was delicious. Owner came by and asked if everything was good. I ordered Chile relleno my husband ordered the seafood soup. I ordered a dos xx and my hubby had a lemonade which was great. Bathroom was clean. Prices are very reasonable.Overall I recommend.

Stopped by for some lunch while roadtripping and it was great! Good food and quick service.

Excellent food. We ordered shrimp, chicken, and pork tacos. The carnitas was amazing! I loved the chicken too. They have great sauces to go with them, if you decide to play with flavors. Each plate comes with cilantro and diced onion and lime wedge. These are not tiny little tacos, these are a very good value. I will eat here again for sure!

A hidden treasure you don't want to miss !! Very clean - Waitstaff courteous and helpful - the BEST chips & spicy Salsa you can find !

Absolutely phenomenal! Best Mexican food I've had in Texas. The sweet tea is incredible. The prices are great! Fed my family of four for $30. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will most certainly be back!

Very friendly and attentive staff! The food was excellent my only complaint was the air conditioner sucked. It was HOT IN there.
