A great mom and pop Mexican and American food place.This place has homemade salsa, mild and hot. The hot definitely has some kick to it. Both are very tasty.Meals are made to order and its obvious from the taste.I has the Chicken Fried Chicken and it was absolutely delectable. Piping hot, perfectly prepared and really delicious. They will serve it with either brown gravy or the other kind.I went back and had the Chile Rellenos. Again they were piping hot and perfectly prepared. Delicious!! They will make them either just with cheese or with beef.A great place to eat with very good service and a relaxed environment.

The food was pretty good. I had attempted to order the bacon and egg plate but my because my Spanish is horrible and the waiter didn't know much English, I ended up getting a bacon and egg taco which was delicious anyways. Waiter also seemed a little impatient/annoyed but I usually don't care about stuff like that. My partner had gotten the Migas with beans which came with complimentary tortillas. They reported that the eggs were a little bland but I thought they were fine. The refried beans are great and the food is served super fresh. The biggest upside to this place is the incredibly cheap prices. If you come before 11am, you can get a really sick breakfast deal for under $4. It's also a very small, old, cozy restaurant hidden behind a run-down motel with overgrown vegetation surrounding the lazily painted building (I personally think it adds to the experience in a positive way). I'm definitely coming back to try some of the lunch items.Highs: prices, breakfast itemsLows (for me): must know spanish (which might be a good thing to maintain authenticity and scare away entitled English speakers and to avoid gentrification) ^^^ just learn the basics and you'll be fine.

Great food really really good food. As a matter of fact I would tell you that I've been there several times just because of the food. They are very very short staffed right now and I don't know if that is normal or not but they are very short staffed. Sometimes you might wait 5 to 10 minutes before someone comes to see you at the table. By the way you do choose your own table. Last, the place is not something to look at but it is clean and tidy...did I say it was good food.

My favorite, out of the way Cafe. It's like that hole in the wall, back door place you've always heard about. Awesome service, relaxing and pleasing atmosphere, and great food. A must return kind of place.

Food is good. Love the environment! I love the hole in the wall feel. The service on the other hand is not so good. We went there Thursday and the food was great and service good. I told my wife let's go again (4 days later) and the server was bothered by me asking for things like a refill and limes for tea. Never made eye contact with me and hardly spoke even after me trying to make a convo with her. I did drop my iced tea and she picked it up, but didn't offer a refill and ignored me the rest of the time I was there. She just left the tab. I was hoping it would be a place to eat a couple times a week like my favorite restaurant in Pharr (where I'm originally from) since we live in Edinburg now, but I guess it's worth the drive to go to Pharr. Service is everything for us. I wasn't going to tip but left a couple of bucks for the tea drop.Things are expensive now a days and it's now cheaper to eat at home, so make your customers feel good for spending their money there with you!

I stopped here to eat did not look welcoming but was hungry I placed my order asked for chips and salsa mean while waiting for my food the salsa tasted very bad i told the waiter this salsa is not good it tastes like if the tomato has gone bad the waiter took it from me and then came back and said in spanish like in an upset tone well we only give chips and salsa when you order a mexican meal and also that i should be glad she was bringing me some without ordering a mexican meal and you still complain about the salsa. I was like What .... rude as hell never will i go to this place again.
