First day of Corpus vacation. I was walking along the little touristy area just north of the USS Lexington. I Yelp'ed on the iPhone; I first found a cajun restaurant that seemed well recommended (the others around it were not), but could not find the location of it. So Plan B, found Dot'z and the exterior looked cute like a 50's dinerish place on the beach. Ordering was a little tricky, it's up on the wall but you can combine things you see on the wall. Wait staff was alright, not overly eager to serve, but not rude or disrespectful. You order and it takes maybe 5-10 mins to get a meal out. The ice cream also looked good, but did not sample any on this go around. I went with the chicken sandwich to try and stay a little healthy in this haven of beach food. Came very plain jane. I don't recall if it had mushrooms on it or not, but I distinctly remember thinking I paid for this?!? It had the appearance of fast food burger joint, not trendy little place on the beach. They have small inside seating but if a few folks are there, they have a covered patio area that is a good break from the sun. No fans or ventialtion that I recall outside. They also have a nice playground right outside if you need to occupy the kids in a safe place while you eat. Overall, I wanted to like the charm of the place, but could just not get into it. Thus, 3 stars.

Came for a day trip to the beach and brought along our dogs. We were anxious to find a restaurant that accepted animals. Dotz is one of those places. We were able to sit outside on their patio with our dogs and enjoy a good hot dog. The food experience isn't something to get excited about, but we were really happy they were accommodating to us since we brought our pets. The atmosphere is fun and the hot dogs are good. Great place to come if you have a large family!

Cool shop down by the USS Lexington. Get a quick hot dog, then get some ice cream! If we ever go back down there we'll stop there.

I really liked this cute little 50's Diner. I have been here a few times and had the nachos and ice cream; both were very tasty. I haven't had any real food here, just snack type things but I think it's a very good place to go when you get the munchies while hanging at the beach.

If you are looking for a nostalgic kinda place, go ahead - looking for good food - don't bother. I was really disappointed, we were hoping that what they advertised was correct - Chicago Dogs - NOT. It was the worse one ever. The place is across the street from 2 fab landmarks in town. The USS Lexington and the TX State Aquarium. The cafe was very colorful tho. They really need a deep cleaning - one thing to be old, but another to be dirty. We were the only 2 in the place and it took way to long to get 2 hot dogs. It was way over priced also - skip this place, save your $$. We will mark this off our return list for sure

Employees are high school students who just sit around gossiping, while one of them actually works. Took 20 minutes for my food although I was the only one in there. Food is okay. Wish I would have went somewhere else.

five stars because it's just right for my kids....this is our last stop - always - before leaving cc....we vacation their for a few days in the summer and we can't leave without stopping in for a hot dog and some ice cream. my kids love the coca cola 50s look and it's just right for a quick bite...the staff is young and the owner is usually around...there's also a playground in the back...if you can't find it on a map, it's across from pier 99 which is also a great place for seafood....
