I have a new addiction, it's their Hippo breakfast tacos, they are the best I've ever had. And their red sauce has great kick. I'm going back for more right now!

Probably the flavorless Mexican food I've ever tasted! Cheese sauce and not real cheese! Meat was a cheap cut! Poor quality! Guacamole barely had onions and tomatoes... was literally chopped up avocados Tacos weren't flavorful but the best thing I ateTortillas didn't taste homemade Nor look homemade pretty darn sure they were store bought

Below average in all areas. Everything was to bland for my taste. Would not go again. Dirty ceilings, plus there was a moldy smell upon entering.

Passed this place up so many times and finally stopped in. The restaurant is very clean with an inviting interior, add the amazing customer service and there is not much els that is needed. Except great food, which they have in abundance. All their items are made from scratch daily. The chips are your normal fair with a fresh salsa that is pretty good. A bit more cilantro and a squeeze of lime would make it perfect. Entrees :#17 Taquitos Plate - 8/105 delicious small taquitos with your choice of pastor, beef, or tripa served with avocado, seasoned grilled onions, fresh onions, cilantro, and charro beans.I went with the pastor and it was great, a little sweetness with all of the expected flavors of a good pastor. The charro beans had a very nice taste as well, a bit different than most but really good. #3 Picadillo Con Papas. - 8/10Ground beef and diced potatoes seasoned with Mexican spices, served with rice and beans. Very well put together, the meat had a very good flavor, can't place my finger on it but a good flavor non the less. The rice and beans were both really good as well. Served with corn or flour tortillas. #25 Burrito Don Jose. - 8/10Beef or chicken fajita, cheese, and guacamole wrapped in a flour tortillas, topped with red sauce and queso. I had the chicken fajita in this one, the chicken was super moist and tender. The guacamole adds a nice touch to the burrito. I had a couple items included not on the menus description, sour cream and lettuce. It just added a broader range of flavors that accented the rest. The red sauce has a unique flavor that I haven't had anywhere else, paired with the queso makes this burrito a must have. One thing is for sure , they take pride in making fresh food that is their own. Great flavors, atmosphere, and phenomenal customer service makes Don Jose's a must try.

I love their tacos. They are NOT stingy on the meat. In fact, they put so much meat on them that it will fall out if you're not careful. By the way, they are also DELICIOUS!I'm sorry I LOVE their tacos so much that that's ALL I eat. ENJOY

Everything is good and they make you feel comfortable very patient with costumes and also kids children there's no problem there

Good authentic Mexican food and nice friendly service. Was a real treat on a Sunday after church.

What a happy surprise to eat here. The location is kind of bad so this location has had turnovers one after the other. The grand opening sign told us to try this location again. Previous incarnations were underwhelming so we took a chance. Don't expect instant service but we did get an immediate warm greeting and instructions to sit wherever we liked. They offer soda as well as traditional drinks like horchata. There were others but I forgot. Be ready for heavy accents but our waitress would smile and be patient when we asked her to repeat herself . Hubby got taquitos with beef while I ordered taquitos with tripitas (intestines cut into pieces.) I know, it sounds gross but think of it like pork rinds you buy at store. Those sound gross too but tasty, anyway. I have to go but I'll come back and add more about experience. Go to this restaurant if you want Mexican food in Angleton on a Sunday. Who knows, you might bump into the local priest like we did!

Great small restaurant, the food was amazing and priced well. I took the kids one day for dinner and a few days later took my wife without the kids, one ilthong is that there are no margaritas just beer. We definitely will return.
