This was my first time deep sea fishing and I had a blast! It was a long and cold boat ride but the fishing part was so fun. The deckhands Robert and Malachi were running around helping everyone and collecting fish. Our boat had about 30 people on it and everyone limited out. Look forward to going again soon!

Our trip was cancelled the night before because the other group that was supposed to go with us cancelled. We didn't know that our trip was contingent on a seperate group. This is obviously very frustrating when you've been waiting all year for this fishing trip.

We went on a bay fishing trip on Friday 11/29/24 and we enjoyed our time!! Great staff and I really appreciated the communication from staff and captain. We unfortunately had to plan our Saturday trip with another vessel/ company and we were very disappointed will never do another trip on that one! Deep sea headquarters will be our Place for our future fishing expeditions!! Thank you!! S.Garcia

If you want a very expensive 10 1/2 hour boat ride with an incompetent captain, only fishing for maybe 1 1/2 hour struggling to get everyone's limit for one species of fish all to follow their recommendation to have Tony clean your fish (next door to their dock) - who then Tony gives your fish to someone else and you leave empty handed narrowly escaping with your life with no fish - then this is the place for you!The service can't help the weather, but the captain should have known better to drive us deeper into the storm. If you like your boat riding vertical on waves and having large heavy equipment on the deck slid violently around the deck putting everyone around in harms way, then by all means, book with them. We also spent 90% of the trip moving, NOT FISHING!My buddy and I had our own stringers of fish - #22 and #37. Tony's fish cleaning service was recommended. Tony is located right next to Captain Kelly's. Tony has an underage girl working the intake of the fish to be cleaned. My buddy and I waited for well over an hour, seeing people leave that turned their fish in well after us. My buddy and I were the last to get our fish when, come to find out, he only had my buddy's stringer (#22) remaining. He had given my fish to another fisherman and then lied trying to claim that a fisherman had stolen my fish. I asked how that could be when the fish were in his control the entire time. He then took my number and said he'd call me and figure out how to make things right in 30 minutes and turned us away. I never got the call, never got my fish.In summary, I spent well over $350 for me and my friend to go on a very dangerous boat ride and come out of it with 1/2 the fish we were supposed to!

We had a great time. The staff is amazing. They part a lot of effort into making your trip enjoyable. They helped my 7 year old fish even with a broken wrist.

5 hour fishing trip with Captain Kelly's Deep Sea.Crews were kind and helpful and boat was clean, however this is the breakdown of the trip:2 hours to get to location.25 minutes to set anchors2 hours getting back. This left us with around 35 to 40 minutes of fishing time which makes no sense for such a long trip, no worth it. I don't recommend this trip, perhaps doing an 8 hour or more...could be of more value, will have to try and see. Also, some of the fish caught by other people were smaller than some of the ones we caught, yet, they made us release them due to the size, need more consistency.

A friend and I paid for a 12-hour offshore fishing charter with Deep Sea Headquarters this week. The trip was marginal at best, and unsafe at its worst. First of all, offshore in Texas means heading out quite a distance before finding deep waters. Deep Sea cannot control this, admittedly. Nor can Deep Sea Headquarters control the weather. That is not the fault of Deep Sea Headquarters. Just want to get this out of the way...However, for a 12-hour trip, we MAY have fished for an hour total. There was one stop where we couldn't fish at all because we weren't on the right side of the boat, so just had to wait while others fished. We continued to pick up poles and move during the allotted time out in deep water. Finally, seeing a storm in the distance, the captain decided it would be a good idea to head INTO the storm instead of away from it. Honestly, I should report him to the Coast Guard or other regulatory body. Air temp dropped 30 degrees. Seas were at least 15 feet, and at one point, the boat went over a swell so high that the bow of the boat dropped to 45 degrees. Not a pleasant experience, and completely unavoidable had the captain not literally driven us into a storm. As rough as the ride was, and as unsecured as the deck was, he could have EASILY killed someone.Along those lines, items on the deck were nowhere near properly secured. At numerous times, a heavy white metal storage unit slid around the deck, almost hitting me at several times. A large tackle box was not secured and went flying at one point, spilling hooks all over the deck where people needed to stand. The large blue ice boxes were not properly secured and almost smashed my hand at one point while I was seated behind it. Could have lost a finger easily. I had to pick up a ton of hooks, leaders, tools, and bait off the deck. The crew, during one especially rough and wet segment of the trip, threw a bean bag down under the upper deck and laid down on them while the rest of us had to stand in the wave spray, getting soaked to the bone. They literally sat there, laughing, as we struggled to find a dry space to steady ourselves in the 10-15 foot swells. Meanwhile, the deck was a mess, with hooks, leaders, slippery bait, and poles were kept haphazardly around the deck. At one point, I almost lost my balance and would have fallen into a pile of fishing poles and their exposed hooks which were just stacked in a corner, unsecured.Other employee(s) of the company were apparently on board this trip, and took the best fishing spot(s).We did catch our two snapper, each, barely. I caught a third snapper, which was larger than my second snapper, and this was given to another customer (not even sure that's legal). Upon returning to port, we were recommended Tony's fish cleaning service there at the dock, for cleaning the fish. Our two pair of fish were tagged, 22 and 37. Four fish total, 36 lbs. Tony himself weighed all four fish in one basket on his scales. We went the 20 feet to the other end of the small shop and watched as they processed the fish. We waited almost an hour. Finally, Tony walks out of the door and asks us and a couple who were on our boat if anyone was missing fish. Yes, we had not received our fish yet.Tony first lied and said we had only given him two fish (not four). This was a lie. We watched his daughter put all four fish in a basket and watched Tony himself put it on his scale. Tony then lied and said that someone stole our fish. You can literally see from one door of his shop to the other. Nobody stole our fish. He blamed someone else for taking our fish, when in fact it was his fault that he gave half our fish to someone else. He handed me my two fish and then told my buddy he would call him in 30 minutes to make things right. This was his last lie. He never called. He's a liar, is dishonest, and a sociopath, showing no remorse whatsoever for his obvious error. Stay away from this company and their dishonest fish cleaning service. It's not worth the money or your life.
