I like this museum and my kids like it too. There are parts that are like a children's museum with both indoor and outdoor play areas- it's good for super hot days or cold days. I like that they have very local exhibits on coastal bend history. On the weekends they sometimes have an art activity or an interactive experience- touch a shark or fossil come to mind. It's not big, fancy, or new, but is a manageable size for a pleasant afternoon. We go to various museums all over the country and just to be super clear, this is not the Houston Museum of Natural Science crossed with the Houston Children's Museum. But I find it nice, especially if you have young kids. If you're visiting from out of town you might prefer the Aquarium or Lex.

We really enjoyed the museum. It's smaller than some of the others we visited but it has a lot of diverse history in their displays. I love the information on the dinosaurs! The rooms with the historical figures was nice for children as well. Overall it touches a little about a lot of things. Bring your children and let them explore! You will enjoy it as well.

While on vacation here last week, I visited this museum located on the waterfront and next to the tall bridge going over the ship channel. It has its own free parking lot which is nice and adult admission is $12 and kids and seniors $9.There are several rooms and exhibits in the museum and I found them all to be interesting. The layout was a little confusing and using the supplied map helped me to not miss anything. I took a little over 2 hours to go through it which allowed for some time to read all of the placards displayed. Look at the web site for the current exhibits. Mine included local and regional history, some science, artifacts, art, etc. I felt the quality of the museum was worth the admission price and my time to walk through it.

We had a good time in the museum, and liked some of the interactive stuff in it. It had variety of things available to keep you entertained.

As homeschoolers, this is a good educational field trip. There are so many exhibits that it warranted the membership so we could come back when we were studying different units. The playground is well kept and many exhibits are interactive. It's more of a local history and children's center. They have a summer camp, which was less camp and more summer daycare (8-6pm in a classroom with a few projects.) There is no restaurant to food on site, so it's hard to spend more time there.

Came with my daughter for her first time in a museum! Every single employee stopped to say hello and asked if we needed anything. It was clean and quiet. I would come during the week and early in the day to beat crowds or groups of students. She enjoyed the museum even at a young age. Would come back!

I loved the museum. I met a lot of nice people here. I learned a lot of things. This museum is very educational and informative. The adult admission was $12. Not bat. I was very surprised at the higher admission of Texas State Aquarium. It was much cheaper. There were a lot of exhibits. I really enjoyed the history of the Gulf Coast and Corpus Christy. I saw a kid's corner. Kids can learn science and math with fun! Please visit here!

My wife and I enjoyed the local history, especially the photos by Doc Mcgregor, which spanned more than a few decades. The model T doodlebug was interesting. They have an interactive section for kids that looked cool. During the week in October we had plenty of room to wander at will. This is not as good as the Houston Museum of Natural Science but it's a lot easier on the billfold.

The worst place I have ever been. Went on Sunday 2/9/25 ticket was way to expensive the lady at the front desk had an attitude. Walked around for a while and couldn't even see through the glass with all the hand prints on them. Went to the restroom had stuff all over the floor. Tried to tell the same lady at the front desk about and she just said ok I will let someone know and turned away from me and continued to talk to some other worker. Would not recommend going to this place. It's sad my family went in about a year ago and loved it. I don't know what has happened in that time but things have definitely gone way down

They should take the science out of the name. Most of the interesting interactive science center items are broken or poorly maintained. We came here two years ago and I thought we'll maybe they were temporarily down. Nope same things are out of order and would make the price of admission worth it, but without these items this is just a museum with some interesting local exhibits probably with $5. Shame they charge full price knowing all of the issues. Why they pay a girl to act in the old time general store where maybe one quarter of people visit versus fix up the best asset of the site is beyond me. All of the potential is here and maybe when they opened it was a great place to visit but now it misses the mark. HEB should be ashamed of sponsoring it. Specific issues, the "mathematics" scale is a waste b/c curator doesn't know how to weigh or label the items for the scale to work. Touchscreen chemical experiment display, motorcycle and piano are inoperable. Planetarium and outer space are closed forever.
