The Athletic Club is Corpus' premiere athletic facility. It does cost a premium, but you totally get what you pay for. Highlights:- Amenities: everything you could imagine and more. Come for the sauna, pools, hot tub, cold plunge, classes, updated equipment, indoor track, tennis court and more! It has it all. -Convenience-Cleanliness -StaffNot to mention, the crowd here remains pretty cool too. I like talking about philosophy and other life subjects with the people coming in and out of the sauna. I can spend hours a day here being fulfilled.

This place is beautiful, classes are amazing, the kids club is like nothing I've ever seen. My family loved attending. It breaks my heart that they focus on making their money by stealing instead of focusing on their strengths.Last week. We had enough. At first, they had us on a non existent fee that was more expensive than what everyone else was paying. I canceled one of my daughter's membership, And they kept charging for a year, and she couldn't attend. We tried to fix that for a full year. What we did to finally fix this, after getting extra charges every month, calling, and going in person, we decided to cancel the membershipThat was under my husband's name for the whole family, and opening one under my name. It was a trying year, but the gym was worth it.Then I enrolled two girls in gymnastics. The second through fifth month, I was charged double. They finally fixed that, but then cut the class in half without notice. I came to pick up my kids like always did. They were ON THE STREET. They had been kicked out an hour earlier and no one bothered to let me know.So I canceled gymnastics. They said o had to tell them with a month in advance.I go late April. They said it's done. I ask them for a paper. Because of course. I don't trust them. She hands me an unsigned paper saying effective July 1st. I'm like. What? She says : "yeah, so, April is charged in May, and May is charged in June. So you're canceling April but they already attended. So you have to pay for that in May. Then on June you'll pay for May because you have to cancel a month in advance. So July will be the first month you don't pay. Does it make sense? No. Do I have an option? No. Well. You guessed it. They charged me for July too! . But the real cherry on top, was when I reviewed a phone call stating I owed for severalMonths that I had bank statements of having payed and money taken out of my account. They wanted to charge me more.So now I'm losing my mind and I ask my local Facebook friends if I'm the only one with these ridiculous experiences, since this gym seems to have good reviews. Comments of scary fraudulent things came pouring in.The fact is, this is a really great gym. And we all let theft slide because we love it. I had enough and cancelled my subscription (not before disputing charges with my bank and winning). But of course we are all sad we lost the place. And for the life of me, I don't get why they need to make their money this way instead of focusing on the good? Saddest part is.... It's the only option in town so you either accept being taken advantage of, or you miss out on a great place and end up with sad kids like us :(

Called to inquire about my cancelation I requested 2 months ago. The automated call sent me to customer service when I requested billing. I informed the customer service representative that I spoke with another customer service agent months ago to cancel and they said they would set it up; now to be informed that I would need to speak to a another party to do so in a harsh tone and attitude before finishing my sentence. Make informed decisions on memberships in these hard times. There are better newer gyms that are easier on the pocketbook. And nicer to costumers.

I took advantage of a free week trial. I won't be signing up for it full time. I primarily need cardio machines and weight stations, things I can get at most gyms. Here are my impressions. 1. Pro: Great staff. Very friendly and nice. 2. Pro: access to bath and wash towels so I didn't have to bring my own when I showered. 3. Pro: nice indoor track and tennis courts. 4. Con: COST! As of 11/11/2023, it's $180/month/a couple. That's ridiculous. 5. Con: Several weight machines and cardio machines are old - like well over 7 years (which is old for gym equipment).6. Con: nobody wipes down their machines or equipment after use. Gross!7. Con: instead of continuing to build this one even bigger, why don't you build a second gym like this. Say in the Robstown area? Id love to join this gym but if my limit is only this location, then I'll pass.

have NEVER used this membership even once. I changed use of my accounts and had some family matters to attend to and tried to reach out to the person in charge of memberships to cancel or freeze the membership. I never got a call back but instead they kept trying to charge my account every few DAYS. THIS IS BEING REPORTED TO THE CFPB. THERE ARE SUCH THINGS AS ILLEGAL CONTRACTS AND PRACTICES. I offered to find a resolution and instead I got unethical and illegal activity. Absolutely MALICIOUS.

I've been a member for a number of years & I've never felt more disappointed in the management of this gym as I do now. Yes, there are a lot of great classes offered, but the general manager has just fired a popular instructor for no apparent reason. He was unable to explain the reasons for such an unfair act. The previous GM was more understanding & receptive to the members' concerns-the current one prefers to hole up in his office. In fact, many of us didn't know what he looked like until many months after his hiring. Has done a good job so far? No, he hasn't.

For as big as this "club" is, and as much as you pay, there's no reason why this place shouldn't be 24 hours. There's alot of refinery/shift work employees in this town, they should cater to such. Not everyone is retired and has the freedom to go on a timely schedule at their leisure. You factor in the time of day, and the traffic getting there, you almost don't want to work out at that point. Especially if it's peak time of the day when it's packed! Don't bother going Early am, lunch, and 5-7pm unless you want to fight the crowd! However, a lot of the crowd in the parking lot is from their classes. If they went 24 hours, it would definitely be utilized! Some of us night owls would love a "quiet zone" from 10pm-4am! Something their management should highly consider for the monthly price! Speaking of prices, they only have one set package. It's the only option, so you're stuck paying almost for $100 and not everyone utilizes everything. Why am I paying for the basketball, tennis ball, and pickle ball courts if I never have intention on using them? They won't drop the price or consider package options, and that's a selfish outlook from a management position towards people on a tight budget! Also, why no background music? Even opera or instrumental music would be nice! It's just awkward grunting and equipment clanking.

Always clean, tennis courts great, I don't use them, swimming pool great, I don't use it, steam room , sauna great too. However, no discount for NOT using them. I would like to use BASE room just for punching bags and ab slings, but, I have to pay 'EXTRA' to use that? Why? I've been asking for at least a couple of 'Hammer Strenght Machines, and nothing has ever been done. By moving the free weight equipment around does not constitute an improvement in equipment. Someone is going to re-open at Gold's Gym location soon no doubt, and they will have Hammer Strength machines. A mass exodus will occur when that happens.

I just joined today and I am so confident that this place is going to be amazing that I am already giving it 5 stars. From the moment I walked in I knew I was making the right decision to join. John, front check in, is awesome, awesome, and more awesome. Candice, who checked in on me, while I was waiting for my tour was so nice. Haylie, provided me the tour, was so thorough and helpful. Then there is Ray, simply out, he is amazing and what he does. Ray helped me out over the phone, when I had called in for the first time, and then assisted in completing my membership. Thank you all and can't wait till tomorrow for my first workout.
