Come and Take It Bar and Grill

Great little bar on the downtown square in Gonzales. Definitely worth visiting if you're just taking a weekend road trip to check out the Texas countryside and the authentic little towns in Texas. This is a historic downtown and this bar is the namesake.We like the pizza.... Particularly the margarita and the Hawaiian. Also the surf and turf and the beef fajitas are really good.The drinks are definitely add a little bit of a flare and I think you will enjoy swinging in here sitting in the air conditioning if you're touring around the downtown square.

Great bar and wonderful pizza!!We had a great midnight snack there last night.Very nice place with perfect ambiance.Large menu selection!The owner and our waitress were especially kind to us.We will certainly be back

Gonzales TX has lots of terrific places to eat. The Come and Take Bar is good but falls short of terrific. The service is fair; the night we visited the bar, it was packed and it seemed short staffed. It took several tries to get our order right. We finally settled for "close enough." We like our burgers a little pink but gave up on that requirement after a few tries. The location is convenient to downtown window shopping and parking was relatively easy to find.

Stopped by on a whim. Food, service, and ambiance were all decent. No major complaints.

Husband and I stopped in here on Saturday afternoon, place was pretty crowded. We waited a bit for a waitress to show up, she took our drink orders. Brought our drinks and took our food order. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad the husband ordered the sub sandwich. It took a little over 40 minutes for a salad and a sandwich. I understand they were busy but the wait was ridiculous for such simple food. Then to get the check and get it paid took forever.... probably would not stop in here again.

You wouldn't believe it but they have the best nachos in town! I also love their Greek salad. Waitress are also sweet and attentive. If you come during a cowboys game make sure you sit outside unless it's your team! it's loud and packed with cowboy fans!

Food was great. Iced tea was good too. The ambience was meh. But the food more than made up for it! Helpful staff.

Execent food. Great friendly service. Plenty ofparking with easy access. Well worth a visit!

OMG! How much of a discount do I get for hearing damage?Does the music need to be THAT LOUD?Also charged higher than menu price for a mediocre burger. Funky tasting burger at that.Hard passon eating here again. Yuck.Horrible experience.

Food was great. Service was terrible. Our waitress "left for break" after taking our order and never showed back up. No one ever came back to wait on us. We had to stop someone to ask about our order then our appetizers and salads showed up all at the same time as our meal because there was no one to know that we had ordered appetizers and salads. We had to ask for to go boxes and then had to wait FOREVER for our tickets to be straightened out. It was a mess and no one seemed to care that we were a forgotten table. It was a shame because food was great.
