Church's Chicken

I know it seems like am a glutton for punishment as I keep returning here for fried chicken but hey it's Corpus, not many choices. I love fried chicken and when Church's is good, it's pretty good. That's the problem with most fast food places around here, it's hit and miss. Well I'm too pleased to report that the Chicken today was most definitely a hit. I got the three piece dark and it was delicious, hot and fresh. Big pieces cooked to perfection. I was too happy. I wanted to go back and get more while the getting was good but didn't. I so hope they are trying to improve on their quality and it was not a fluke. It's the one in the bluff. Now I gots to go back to see if I was just lucky or what. LMK if y'all try it and it's still good. Bye bye.

I had my first visit here after almost a year in Corpus Christi and it was a pretty good experience. The staff was great, the food was hot, and it was quick. There are no specials in the windows like I was used to in San Antonio, so you will need to go to Church's website for coupons (the staff confirmed that they take them at this location). My gripe is that like many Church's Chicken locations, this location was out of spicy chicken. Over the years I have heard every excuse imaginable as to why spicy is not available, but I am going with the theory that it is too much work, and the location managers don't care. Might be time for an app like the McDonald's ice cream machine site, so we know when spicy is available.

Dirty inside. Male employee (cook) kept asking my wife where she worked, what she did for work etc... Making inappropriate comments even after she asked him to stop. Very creepy. His clothes were filthy yet he was cooking the food, going out to the parking lot, going back into the store to cook. DO NOT GO. She said it made her feel creepy and she would never go back. When she got home instead of the family chicken tenders she ordered, she got a box of legs and thighs which we do not like, that's why she ordered tenders.Will never go backWish I could rate a negative number.

Okay, I'm just going to say it. Fast food places should stick to what they know and quick "reinventing" stuff just to be trendy. McDonald's should not be doing breakfast tacos and Church's should NOT be doing waffles!When I worked at Church's (this location even - some 30+ years ago), they had one item on the menu, CHICKEN. And they did it well......very well, actually. Yeah, I know, time's change and a company needs to be flexible with the times but, when you can't make something good, then you should go back to your roots.I tried the "new" Chicken & Waffle bites. I had never had chicken and waffles before and I can safely say I STILL haven't had chicken and waffles. Waffles should not crumble apart when you bite into them. These did - they were that dry. The fake maple flavoring did not improve it any and the "maple butter" that comes with it just compounds how bad the flavoring is. The chicken strips were small and only made better with the cream gravy that came with them. I also happened to taste one of their Boneless Wings with the "sweet & spicy" sauce. While the wings were crunchy, tender and juicy, the sauce was anything BUT spicy.....even tasted more like burnt BBQ sauce! So, yet, another experiment gone bad. The only thing that hasn't changed is their coleslaw; still just as good as I remember.So, if I ever make it back to Church's, I think I'll just stick to what they (hopefully) do best and order the chicken.

The drive-in was broken, a sign says "drive up to the window and order." Well, I pull around and the guy in the window is having a long conversation with the driver in the van at the window. He's not taking an order...he's having a conversation. So I pull around and go inside...it's got a line due to the drive in situation. Three people in front of me order and when I get to the register..the guy says "just a moment' and turns around and goes into the back. Well, for five minutes I watch with relative horror the way guys without hair cover are over the food and one of the fry-geeks grabs an order of gizzards or something I would probably never order and dumps them BACK into the grease!! Double fried whatevers turned my stomach!So, guy walking away from the register with a line waiting to order...strike one. Double frying anything...strike twenty. NO THANK YOU. My money will go to some place that adheres to health codes and common sense.

Worst service ever waited over 30 min and ended up getting a refund . And going to taco bell avoid this place at all cost.

Waited well over 20 minutes for my food just to have them mess my whole order up and have to wait another 20 minutes.

Service is absolutely pitiful at this location. Waited 40 minutes for marginal chicken.

Joseph did a great job tonite thank you the food wasn't good I don't know why it takes so long every time I stop bye 15 to 20 min wait

Well try again to spend some money at this churches fried chicken. They did not disappoint eight piece mixed mashed potatoes and okra 30 minute wait wow!!!
