This was the first museum we decided to visit while exploring Cuero. This is a well-curated museum with many beautiful displays of spurs, riding gear, and very informative displays about the cows and cattle industry. There is an upper level with a small portrait gallery but it's mainly for meetings. There is a movie you can watch and an ample gift store in the front of the museum. You can't take photography inside the gallery but it's still a nice walk through.

This place was very nicely curated and displayed. The folks running the place were friendly and available for questions, but it was generally a view on your own experience. They have an interactive chuck wagon and saddle experience as well as a short movie. A must see for anyone visiting Cuero, TX. They have a small gift shop with mostly reasonably priced items (shot glasses, trinkets, hats, shirts, postcards, etc...)

Decided to take a drive to Cuero and visit the museums there. Got off to a late start. Had lunch at Bahnhof Cafe and chose to visit the Chisholm Trail Museum. Enjoyed our visit. A very nice museum telling the story of the Chisholm Trail. If you are a Texas history buff and enjoy small towns I recommend this museum.

An amazing museum with cool special exhibits. The spur collection was fascinating! The displays rival the big museums in Houston. I had a great time looking through the museum and then stopped for ice cream at The Green Cow! Made for a fun trip to Cuero!

Lovely, thorough exhibits and a kind docent. My 4 yo loved "riding" the mounted saddles and interactive trail ride games. Small museum, but beautifully done with plans to triple their gallery space soon.
