September 4th, 2021, looking for wedding boots while I was in town. I'm writing this in November after returning from my honeymoon as it was a crazy time wedding planning, so I'm reviewing all vendors.I've shopped at Cavender's since I was a kid, as a native Texan, my entire family frequents Western stores, & are normally greeted by a smile, a friendly salesperson, and the familiar smell of leather. My fiancé & I walked into Cavender's in Corpus Christi as I had been looking for my wedding boots. I was in love with the Snip Toe Corral wedding boots, but my feet are too wide, needed round or square. I've looked in several DFW stores, & live in Lubbock, so this wasn't my first time looking, & had a pretty good idea of what I wanted.I knew they came in square toe online, but wanted to try them on somewhere. I was delighted to find that they carried the square toed version. However, unlike the other stores I've been in I had to get someone to get the boots from the back as they didn't have the boxes below them like normal. So I make my way to the front & ask for someone to pull 2 pairs of boots for me (there was another pair I considered). They called over to a gal to help me. I walked towards her & she slowly walked towards the boot section. Didn't say a word to me, but crossed the median of the aisle to talk to her boyfriend. She hugs him, kisses him, & I don't mean a peck.. & does dramatic drawn out air kisses & loudly says "I luhh you baby!! See you after work!" . (At this point they have 45 minutes until close... he's not going off to war and surely he could have waited 10 minutes for that hug while she helped me. Her boyfriend nearly runs into me, but realized I'm standing there, and steps back like a gentleman and says oh excuse me, go ahead, Ma'am!- very respectful interaction. ) we've got like 15 feet left to get to the boots & she goes out of her way to another aisle to talk to 3 coworkers... at this point I'm annoyed. They're laughing/goofing around, clearly not communicating about work. I'm ready to drop cash, & there's hardly anyone there, SOMEBODY should prioritize the customer in front of them.I go & sit down in front of the boots while the mom and daughter on another bench trying something on from the kids section and wait for this girl (whose name I wish I had asked for) to finish.I'm pissed at this point. I'm in sales too, & granted, I make a lot more, but I too started in retail & made $8.10 an hour with NO commission at Babies R Us back in the day, but busted my butt to help people my entire shift, so while I get that it's hard to hire right now, I wasn't impressed with her "willingness to get a job".She FINALLY walks over with a smile & I say (in polite, sweet tone because I'm not going to snap at this teenage kid) "do y'all make commission?" She smiles & says "yes we do!" & I said "Then you might want to prioritize your customers a little more over talking to your boyfriend & coworkers." Sassily says "I'll get you someone else" to which I replied "perfect, thank you!"She stops to talk to every. single. employee. that she runs across on her way back to the counter & looks at me & they look at me while taking. Not subtle, girlfriend.FINALLLLLLY I hear a radio call for someone to help in women's boots & this polite, engaging sales person, Brittany/Britney (sp?) comes over & asks how she can help. I said "hey! I'd like to try on these two pairs of boots could you pull a size 10? I'm wedding boot shopping!" She says something along the lines of "oh congratulations that's so exciting!" & quickly goes to get the boots, returns to let me know they have the 10 in one pair but not in the other. She's talking to me and my fiancé and is kind and attentive. I ultimately decide that I'd really like the pair that they didn't have in stock in a size 10, & she says oh you can order them! @ this point I ask if there's any way she can order them; for that commission. System is down & she proceeds to show me how to do it online, saying she was just happy I found what I was looking for, not to worry about the commission. The other girl is smirking at me, as I walk out empty handed, I get into our truck & order on the website, before we even left the parking lot. These boots were only $281.44, but my husband's boots were $790 which we bought @ the Lubbock store- I wish we had done it then so Brittany would've gotten that commission! There's a difference in people who show up to collect a pay check, and people who genuinely strive to do their job to the best of their ability - Brittany didn't earn commission from this sale but made sure we were taken care of, I really really appreciated that. She had long brunette hair and this occurred at about 7:30PM CST on Sunday, September 4th in the Corpus location. She told the entire team about the interaction and I'm sure somebody can identify her. Please give Brittany my thanks and all the kudos!

Most clothes are of poor quality. Looks like cheap stuff from Wish or Ali Express. Boots are super expensive. Every once and a while you might find something that you like.

This is personally the first Cavender's I've been into that didn't ask me one time if I needed help while lady was folding pants right under me and my mom looking through them all for specific ones. Obviously undertrained staff or uncaring one or the other we left without anything because we couldn't find what we were looking for which has never happened

A young man who calls himself the manager Does not know how to act like a manager. I addressed an issue with him about a cashier standing next to him and he did nothing.Worst costumer service from a manager if he was a manager.

I purchased a pair of Wrangler jeans which unfortunately didn't fit right. I read their return policy and was within all perimeters, even printed and completed the return form which is a little archaic. I did receive a refund but it was only 70% of what I paid. I get that i may not get back the shipping costs but still. Won't be buying again.

I purchased a pair of $250 work boots and the liner came apart and they see its defective but due to the policy they refused to make it right.Buyer's BEWARE cause they know they sold the boots but rather lose a customer than write it off and make a loyal customer, they have no loyalty to their customers stay away go shop somewhere else or risk losing your money

This is more for the web site, though this is my local store and I don't exactly feel comfortable shopping for clothes there. Themselves folks are all young kids and I'm an old lady with old lady style. I couldn't find my pants in the store, the young lady couldn't find any "in the area" so I went on line. It said it was available. I ordered 2 and it took a month plus to get one then, with constant calling and a few weeks later my other pair. I thought I was ordering from a warehouse but the folks said it's coming from a store. I said how? The young lady said no one had any and your web site said they had some. The 2nd pair was not what I ordered but I need jeans. These jeans also don't feel like jeans but spandex material. Do they sell jeans or not?

New to South Texas and were told to check out this store. Wow! Impressive selection of everything you need to outfit yourself in true southern style. Men, Women, Kids. Beautiful, clean, well kept store. Plenty of staff on hand who are ready to help if you have questions and help to make perfect choice for yourself or a gift selection.

I have been to thrift stores that are better organized! The women's clothing section is a "hot mess," and that's being kind! There were four young ladies at the registrars doing nothing. Why not have them attempt to organize some of that chaos? Save yourself from that ridiculousness.
