Casa Tequila

Let me say we went on a Friday around 7pm. I expected the place to be hopping and it wasn't really busy except at the bar area. We ordered a couple drinks and they were ok. Not amazing but not terrible. I found the salas to lack flavor. We ordered the chili con queso. It was ok. Not bad. It was melted cheese. Then we ordered the mini tacos and they came with very bland rice and beans that were ok. The tacos were ok. Overall, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. I expected a place called Casa Tequila to have a more extensive tequila selection.

Food was really good, margaritas were nicely poured. Service could have been friendlier but server was helpful and even corrected an error on our part. It was surprisingly not busy at all, so we were able to enjoy good conversation over an early dinner without having to yell.

We really like food at this place. It is very clean and service is great. We got the burrito and mixed plate. Both I could recommend.

Well it's better than el Chico. The chicken fajita ms are on the light side and tasted more like the pre cut fajita meat packaged chicken. Our waitress was nice. Not exactly sure what kind of hamburger they use but was NOT impressed with the Chile Con Queso with beef in it. It's for a great party vibe though. So o could see coming back on a Thursday-Sat night and check out the crowd.

1st visit here, the food had amazing flavor, and it was priced slightly less than the other bland Mexican restaurants around this area. How we didn't discover this place sooner is beyond me. The service was great. She remembered everyone's name when they walked in the door, and before we left, I felt right at home.

Disclaimer: my husband, kid and I arrived around 10pm so the kitchen was close but still serving tapas. Our waitress was kind but misinformed about what was going on in the kitchen. Most restaurants in the area were on "bar only" mode so we're lucky to find a place to eat.Pro: relatively clean, attractive restaurant lit by a pink neon sign. The corn tortillas were soft. The bathroom is large but only has one stall.Observation: casa tequila did not give off any real cultural vibes or decor other than the Frida Kahlo mural outside. Not a negative, just an observation. The restaurant was drafty and kind of cold. It was a Friday night but there were not many drinkers there; if anything, there were a few families with teens. Food is moderately to higher price (we were restricted to the tapas menu only)Cons: everything was pretty salty so it's hard to distinguish the flavor of the food. I can not speak to the shrimp, they had put it away for the night so it was not available. we had the savage fries, street tacos and Mezcalero platter. Very TexMex not Mexican. Although kind, our waitress was not attentive. She had split duties and I went to get my kid drink refills. I probably will not eat here again.

Nachos: what they say "Beans, melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, choice of meat."What I got: tortilla chips swimming in queso (on the bottom of the container, not on the chips) topped with unseasoned ground beef. None of the rest of the toppings. Inedible because there was so much queso in the container it made the chips a soggy mess;Tex-Mex combo: what they said "Served with rice and your choice of beans, 1 enchilada, 1 tamale and 1 taco crispy or soft, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream."What I got: 1 enchilada, rice and refried beans. I think this was a kids meal. Not what I ordered and paid for.Tacos Al Carbon: what they said "2 flour tortillas with your choice of chicken or beef fajita served with Spanish rice, choice of beans, guacamole, charro beans, sour cream, pico de gallo and chile con queso."What I got: unseasoned ground beef instead of beef fajitas.Seriously, this was just an awful experience all the way around.

Food is good, drinks are great, but service ruined the experience. I was there for dinner with a few friends, and the next day I noticed the waitress had decided to tip herself more than what was written. I called and explained the situation to the owner and it was immediately handled. It's not about how much was added, it's about the principle of how dishonest the employee is.Just make sure you keep an eye on what your card was charged after!

Amazing drinks, amazing food, amazing prices. Love this place. Just wish they opened earlier on Saturdays.
