Well, I went back in on 3/21 and attempted to work with David, the owner, on the overcharging of the cushion. When I asked David what could be done to resolve the situation he became extremely agitated and began yelling at me about my Yelp review and said if I would "quit crying about everything on Yelp"-- these were his exact words-- maybe he would do something. He said if I would erase my experience posted about his business he MIGHT do something about the situation, but would not commit to do anything right then. He was so belligerent and agitated at that point I chose to leave his business instead of standing there and continue to get berated in hopes of a price adjustment on this cushion. I was really stunned how bad he treated me. Words cannot convey how dissatisfied with the way I have been treated by this business owner. And as I read some of the other reviews I now realize he has done the same thing to some others.

Well I was shopping for canvas work in Rockport where my boat is housed, but after reading the company's response to a bad review, I was astonished to see that the company/manager posted a customer's personal contact information. And then encouraged people to contact him! No, sorry Canvas USA. Juan had a bad experience and he has the right to post that bad experience here (without retribution from the company!) That's bad business ethics and I'll take my money and my business elsewhere!

We have been pleased so far - very nice to work with - want everything they make to be "right" - we had a few quick trips down there and they accommodated getting our work done. Not great on follow through and returning calls, but so far what they made has met our needs and when something wasn't exactly how we wanted it, they fixed quickly. Perhaps has changed owners or just front customer facing people - they have been good to work with. Price was competitive.

I bought a folding top from them last year and had excellent service. The top has worked very well. I found everyone to be hospitable, the pricing as advertised, and the workmanship excellent. I understand that sometimes even the best of companies can screw up (assuming that is what happened). I have my own business and not every customer in the last 35 years has been happy with me. Sometimes everything goes wrong and sometimes the customer is NOT always right.

I also had a very bad experience with Canvas USA and was overcharged for work covered by insurance including an incomplete boat cover and a few cushions at $5k+. When I tried to get this resolved all problems were blamed on me with no recourse for straightening things out. Absolutely the worse experience i have ever had with any boat related dealer.

I would not recommend this business to anyone. My experience has been that the manager/ owner is rude, was not truthful in his dealings with me, and kept set up cost money from me for a job he committed to in Nov. 2015 and never completed. When I called to cancel it in January 2016 he was so aggressive and belligerent that I told him to keep the money and hung up. I wasted 3 months on a job he told me would take 2 weeks. And yes, I was dumb enough to have paid up front. Lesson learned.

Staples that were supposed to be Monel turned out to be carbon steel. Canvas USA refused to remove briddle and rusty staples to replace with new ones. Tried to tell me they were Monel, but since i am in the specialty steel business, no dice! Stainless can rust, but NEVER Monel...try to avoid this retail store!
