Cafe Calypso

While waiting to kill some time, I stopped by Cafe Calypso and had a wonderful experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and made me feel right at home. I enjoyed chitchatting with them while waiting for my food, which made the time fly by.Now, let's talk about the food! I ordered the chicken sandwich on a croissant, and I have to admit, it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery, and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was a delightful combination that left me wanting more.

Nice coffee shop located in Moore Plaza and they are attached to a book store. Half Price Books! I've only tried their iced turkish delight coffee and sugar less mandarin pineapple cake but both are very nice. Coffee was only slightly sweet which is just how I like it. Definitely a nice spot to have a slow morning, drink some caffeine, and check out the great book selection!

Another excellent alternative to Starbucks. We were leaving Target and I had to get a latte. It was then that this place was suggested. We could have walked here but in true Texas fashion we drove from one parking lot to the parking lot near half price books which happens to be right next to Cafe Calypso.I ordered a latte and while the rest of the party waited we got cash from the ATM that just conveniently happens to be inside the coffee shop. This is because they are a CASH ONLY establishment. I really like the amount of flags that they have hanging everywhere and all the quaint posters.My latte was fine but the cup could have been either cleaned or double cupped because there was so much coffee dripping from the side. I actually really enjoyed my coffee and everyone else seemed to enjoy theirs as well. Customer service is actually quite efficient. You would get the feeling that you are in Germany. Overall, lots of different coffee options. Definitely would return if I am in Corpus again.

Cafe Calypso is awesome! This place has been around for 20+ years and is attached to the HPB. What better combination than coffee and a good book, right?The coffee selection here is great, and the specialty drinks are really well done.The people that work here are always efficient, but chill, and always provide good service. For sure beats out sbux any day of the week. Need a place to work or just unplug for a minute? This is the one!

We stopped by for coffee before heading back home and we loved how cute and quiet it was! The food and coffee was delicious and reasonable priced. Service was quick, just keep in mind it's an only cash business.

They have a very nice assortment of coffee beans they roast themselves, why didn't I know that? I picked up a pound of Celebes Collossi, I've enjoyed them before from other roasters and these were no exception. The young lady that waited on me gave me a hot cup of coffee, very nice. Doesn't hurt to be attached to a Half Price Books. We visit this half price whenever we're in Corpus.....and i'll pick up some beans and a coffee drink. Good prices too.

Freshest bakery in town, cold slices of cake, fresh individual brownies, fresh single cookies, amazing veggie quiche! Everytime I come in it's a treat. Also amazing coffee selections, tried frozen coffee for the first time here and it was great.

Since I found this quaint coffee shop next to the 1/2 price bookstore, I have visited frequently to indulge in delicious freshly made cakes, cheesecake, sandwiches and the coffee. The owner is such a nice lady, who grinds her own coffee beans, which she also sells. She was very proud of her roasting and combining different coffee beans to make unique blends. A great place to visit and try new coffee from around the world.

Great service. Friendly. Explained the drinks to me. Gave me a sample of the chocolate slush/blend drink that's already prepped in the blend machine. It was good and that's what I got. Husband got the buzzilla, he liked it. This is our second time coming here from out of town, I'd come again. Unfortunately never got to experience a sit down and enjoy the scenery and books. Hopefully one day.
