He took us to all of the cool places to get our fish and, true to his word, Sarah caught her "fish of a lifetime." She got a 34 7/8", 16 lbs Bull Redfish. Even better, Dusty has a great working relationship with John at Doc's who knows how to filet a bull redfish properly. I haven't fished since I was eleven years old and even I caught fish. There are plenty of people who drive boats; Captain Dusty has intimate knowledge of this area. Local expertise adds to the experience and enjoyment. If you're looking for a fishing guide and not just a fishing trip, book Dusty -- and quick. His calendar fills up.Oh yeah, the sunrise photo was amazing."

I've been on many offshore fishing trips but this was my first bay experience. His boat and bait setup are wonderful -- all you really need to do is show up (AND ON TIME). Due to weather conditions, we didn't catch much but Pierre took us to at least 5 hot spots. His knowledge of Corpus was immense and really helped our Padre stay a success."

Jade M. "I went with my boyfriend and his family this past Sunday for the 8-12 bay fishing trip. The captains are good at explaining all of the rules and helping you out if you need assistance. They have fishing rods that are ready for your use as well as bait (dead shrimp and mullet). You can bring your own food/drinks aboard which is nice (they also have food/drinks for sale at the store where you buy your tickets) and they play music which is fun. They also have a bathroom and sink on board if you need to use it. There are also plenty of places to sit on the lower level and an observation deck. If you are prone to motion sickness then definitely bring some dramamine - the day we went the sea was pretty choppy and I was feeling it :(. The captain took us to three different places to fish and there were probably about 20 people on board which is a nice size group. My boyfriend's mom actually reeled in a 35-inch red drum and the staff on board assisted her with a net and even filleted it for her after we got back to shore. Unfortunately only one other person caught a fish they could keep (a sand trout). I was only able to catch a piggy perch. I would like to try this again but go for the evening trip instead. P.S. Make sure to get your tag if you're planning on keeping a red drum and bring your own cloth/rag for your hands. Also, they give discounts for seniors, military and students!"

He was an amazing Captain that made sure my group and I had a blast. He knew where to go and man let me tell you the two times we hit all three rods at the same was an incredible experience. Capt. Ray kept the trip rolling with stories and getting to know you personally. We caught near our limit that we decided to stop and have lunch on the boat. We moved but 3 times in our outing and hit every time. Unlike other Captains that move every 10 minutes after nothing. That gets rather annoying and old quick. When we come back next year I am gonna personally request Capt. Ray again. Thanks for the memories Ray! From THE A TEAM!"

Curt C. ""Gone Green!"Fulton fun in the sun! This fishing pier is currently closed, as of this writing. Hurricane Harvey did a number on this pier, and it's only about 60% standing. The famous green lights have been shut down until further notice. People still fish though. There's three or four little covered picnic areas where people hang out, fish and relax in the shade. When I went, one of the picnic tables had all kinds of muck on it, where it looked like someone had cleaned their fish on the table, and neglected to wipe it down afterwords. This place has an obscene amount of parking for so few picnic areas. Maybe when the pier is working this place gets a lot more full. You could do donuts in a semi truck in the parking lot here, no problem. There are permanent restrooms in a concrete building. Once they get the pier reopened, this place will be a lot more fun. The pier was free if you're just going out to walk around and check things out. There was a $3 fee for fishing poles. But you can't walk or fish from the pier anymore for the time being."

We heard about Indianola and figured it sounded fun. We really liked it, here's why:1. It's off the beaten path. We like hanging out without crowds, so this was a big plus for us.2. The fishing marina is great. There's plenty of seating, much of it in the shade. There's fans all over to make the heat bearable and keep the bugs away. Lots of room to move around and find your perfect fishing spot. It's right on a channel and there's plenty of life around.3. There are bathrooms here! No porta-potty nastiness here. Hallelujah!4. There's a bait shop, convenience store, and a little cafe all on property. You really can set up shop to stay all day here if you want. If you forgot something, chances are it's available right on property. Everything is reasonably priced too. 5. The food from the cafe is tasty! We had popcorn shrimp, the flounder sandwich, fries, tots, and some onion rings. It was all tasty and affordable. 6. During our day trip, we caught a ton of fish, had dolphins playing a few yards away in the channel, a sea turtle play peekaboo with us next to the dock, pelicans everywhere, and saw cute crabs all over the place. It was a great day on the water. So it's not fancy at all. There's your regular costal fisherman crowd just hanging out and working on their boats. It's relaxed and unpretentious. It's $5 a day per person to fish and you are good to go. If you want a fun day fishing, check out Indianola for sure."

Eric M. "Captain Rick was on time and was waiting for us at the marina before sunlight early in the morning. He kindly greeted my buddy and I and we got on the boat without any delay. The boat is a new shallow water skiff and it was very clean and organized. We left the marina and traveled in the dark for about 20 minutes to the fishing spot. The boat can go in really shallow water and Captain Rick put us on a couple of good sized redfish along the shoreline. Unfortunately, with being a fly fishing novice, we couldn't land one but I was so excited to see redfish tails. Captain Rick uses a pole and pushes the boat silently along the shoreline as you look for fish. We loved the calm water at sunrise and this style of fishing charter. We saw black drum, sheepshead, and stingrays darting near the boat. Once we spotted some redfish we tried with the fly rods and got out and did some wade fishing. Fly fishing is truly for the sport fisherman and this adventure was more about being with a friend, having a nice time, and enjoying the peaceful waters of the Laguna Madre than hauling in fish. We only were able to land 1 redfish in 5 hours but we had many opportunities and Captain Rick put us on the fish and gave us tips to improve our fly fishing skills. We had a great day of fishing and a lot of fun and we would definitely recommend Wyld On The Fly to anyone wanting a gracious fishing host and a memorable fly fishing experience."

It was a nice boat with an air conditioned place to rest. They provided everything including bait and snacks and sandwiches and drinks. They were very friendly and made it feel like you were out with friends showing you how to fish. The only negatives were that I had underestimated how long we would have to spend traveling to and from the fishing spots. We didn't seem to spend an awful lot of the 6 hours actually fishing. And my oldest son had a big one on the trolling line and it broke the line. He felt like he needed more instruction on what to do. But that's ok. We got our limit on snapper and everyone got to catch something."

Erin M. "Let me be clear here. The stars are for the kayak only. We came to this location excited to rent a kayak and see the beautiful area up close. When we walked in we were greeted by two adorable dogs, however, one of the dogs peed on my foot. I was wearing flip flops so it got on my actual foot. Gross. No apologies or anything for that. Then the woman who helped us, dirty blond curly hair, was kind of passive aggressive. She basically assumed we were beginners and ignored my husband when he said "Oh well we're not beginners. We've done this a bunch of times." She seemed put off when we didn't know where we wanted to kayak. UHH we are not from the area and do not know a single effing thing about it. YOU DO though so why don't YOOOUU offer some suggestions. SO she did. She suggested an area for beginners. Ugh. She then asked this man if he "wouldn't mind bringing the kayaks to the drop off location for them. As long as you don't mind." The man seemed suuuper aggravated by the question and mere thought of doing something for us. Wow, I'm sorry did we interrupt your day?? Talk about awkward and terrible service! They charge $43 for a kayak rental for 4 hours! $43! When we lived right outside of San Diego we could pay $15 for two hours or $30 for ALL DAY. NOW granted, the other a$$holes in the area charge upwards of $60 to rent their kayaks (are these kayaks made out of gold? do they have an engine?) so $43 was much more affordable. I just couldn't believe it. You Texans looooove to charge astronomical prices for extracurricular activities. On to the kayak. The kayak was wonderful! The seats were great and there was no shortage of leg room. It got us around the inlet flawlessly. When the woman came to get the kayak she was a little more friendly and thanked us for renting the kayak from them. I'm a pretty easy going gal so I decided I'd excuse the earlier behavior. We'd rent from them again, maybe next time they'll be more pleasant."

Robert M. "They will take you to the fish, it's up to you to catch the fish. It is a LONG trip out and back so be prepared for that. Also, there are many people who do this enough to make it a pain for the newbies. They line up first and herd to the preferred spots. Be prepared to relax or take your spot in the elbow shoving match. The biggest disappointment is that they forbid you from bringing your own food & drinks so that they can charge you airport prices during the time that you are trapped on their boat. Which is likely to be somewhere around 12 hours. If you are like anyone else, you will get hungry & thirsty during that time. So when you plan your trip, make sure you factor in the gauging prices in your budget. If you want your fish cleaned, you will pay an additional $.40 to $.65 per pound for them to do it for you. Some may think this is a deal. Remember that depending on the fish, you will likely get 1/3 fish flesh you can eat and the other 2/3 gets pitched. So when they weigh 12 pounds of fish, you will get 4. Be aware.Again, you will catch fish but you better know how so either watch some YouTube videos before going out or go with someone who can teach you."

Ratsamy M. "Anytime you are in Corpus Christi, chartering a fishing trip has to be on your to do list, and using Czar Fishing Company is an absolute MUST! I had met Taylor, the guide, the night prior to my fishing trip. He is extremely personable, down to earth, and hilarious. So, I show up to Billings' Bait and Tackle Shop and meet up with Taylor. He puts his boat into the water, gathers up all the materials we need for our trip, and within fifteen minutes we are on the boat and heading out to our first location. As he is baiting my hook with a live piggy perch, he is explaining to me where I needed to cast my line. And no kidding, within a minute, I already had a bite and I was reeling in a red fish! Talk about having so much excitement, I couldn't contain myself. Once I get the red fish close enough to the boat, Taylor uses his net to get it into the boat. For the few hours that we were out on the water, every single location we went to, the fish were instantly biting as soon as we cast out our lines. My arms were sore, my fingers ached, and I got sun burned (even though I had sunscreen on), but I had the most amazing time out on the water with Taylor catching all the fish that we did. If I could have, I would have stayed out on the water for a lot longer than we did. It's obvious that Taylor knows exactly what he is doing and where we needed to go to ensure that I would catch fish. While other guides were out around where we were, they weren't catching the same amount of fish that Taylor and I were. Every single spot we went to (we went to about five different locations), the fish were biting. They were biting so fast I could barely keep up with reeling them all in. I caught trout, red fish, catfish, and lost a skip jack, but I didn't even care! Still excited from catching all the other fish that I did! And, if you're someone who doesn't want to get dirty, you don't have to do anything but reel the fish in! Seriously, one of the best times I have had in a long time was doing this chartered fishing trip with Taylor! I even got to sit at the top with the Captain (Taylor)! Also, I would recommend that you wear long sleeved shirts, bring a hat and sunglasses, any snacks and water....but to be honest, you're going to be way too busy catching fish to want to stop and eat, but I did drink a lot of water because it was hot! Promise you won't be disappointed chartering with Czar Fishing Company. If I am ever back in Corpus Christi, booking a trip with Taylor will definitely be on the top of my "things to do" list!"
