Bridget W. "We had so much fun with Captain Dusty. He is kind, considerate, and patient. He took us to all of the cool places to get our fish and, true to his word, Sarah caught her "fish of a lifetime." She got a 34 7/8", 16 lbs Bull Redfish. Even better, Dusty has a great working relationship with John at Doc's who knows how to filet a bull redfish properly. I haven't fished since I was eleven years old and even I caught fish. There are plenty of people who drive boats; Captain Dusty has intimate knowledge of this area. Local expertise adds to the experience and enjoyment. If you're looking for a fishing guide and not just a fishing trip, book Dusty -- and quick. His calendar fills up.Oh yeah, the sunrise photo was amazing."

Pax S. "Pierre and his co-captain were a delight to fish with! While on board, Pierre made an effort to get to know all of us and also make an even better effort to educate us about the water. I've been on many offshore fishing trips but this was my first bay experience. His boat and bait setup are wonderful -- all you really need to do is show up (AND ON TIME). Due to weather conditions, we didn't catch much but Pierre took us to at least 5 hot spots. His knowledge of Corpus was immense and really helped our Padre stay a success."

Jade M. "I went with my boyfriend and his family this past Sunday for the 8-12 bay fishing trip. The captains are good at explaining all of the rules and helping you out if you need assistance. They have fishing rods that are ready for your use as well as bait (dead shrimp and mullet). You can bring your own food/drinks aboard which is nice (they also have food/drinks for sale at the store where you buy your tickets) and they play music which is fun. They also have a bathroom and sink on board if you need to use it. There are also plenty of places to sit on the lower level and an observation deck. If you are prone to motion sickness then definitely bring some dramamine - the day we went the sea was pretty choppy and I was feeling it :(. The captain took us to three different places to fish and there were probably about 20 people on board which is a nice size group. My boyfriend's mom actually reeled in a 35-inch red drum and the staff on board assisted her with a net and even filleted it for her after we got back to shore. Unfortunately only one other person caught a fish they could keep (a sand trout). I was only able to catch a piggy perch. I would like to try this again but go for the evening trip instead. P.S. Make sure to get your tag if you're planning on keeping a red drum and bring your own cloth/rag for your hands. Also, they give discounts for seniors, military and students!"

The captain and first mate were super personable........ the first mate told us what type of birds and wildlife we should be looking for that were common in the area. we did see the pink spoon bill bird but I wasn't quick enough to get a picture... we also saw numerous other types of birds, and we did see dolphin! The sunset was beautiful and afterword step inside of Snoopy, and have some great appetizers and beverages!!!"

Amy T. "The owners are very quick to respond to messages and answer all your questions. When the charter that we originally wanted was booked they offered us a discount on the bigger boat. It was a nice boat with an air conditioned place to rest. They provided everything including bait and snacks and sandwiches and drinks. They were very friendly and made it feel like you were out with friends showing you how to fish. The only negatives were that I had underestimated how long we would have to spend traveling to and from the fishing spots. We didn't seem to spend an awful lot of the 6 hours actually fishing. And my oldest son had a big one on the trolling line and it broke the line. He felt like he needed more instruction on what to do. But that's ok. We got our limit on snapper and everyone got to catch something."

Even with clouds, it was very pretty and the weather was perfect! We cruised along and got an up close look at some of the houses on the water. There were even three big barges in the canal which were cool to see up close! On the way back there was even a young osprey perched on a post. How fun to see! This is a wonderful time and a good idea for showing out of town guests the area. Mitch also has fishing trips available and they sound great."

I'm not a skilled fisherman so they would cast my line for me in the perfect spot. It was my partners birthday, and Amy's as well! She brought him a GIFT! We got soooo many bites, reeled in a red fish that was too small sadly! So many catfish, but we don't judge so we're frying up gaff top tonight! I swear I had a trout on line it went wild and I lost it. They took us to all their spots to try and get us something that met their high standards, and we really appreciated it. But the company, help and knowledge that was shared was more than enough. Thank you guys so much"

Ira T. "After fishing the Gulf Coast for many years, I ran into Pat. He's different than the other Baffin area guides I interviewed. They were cocky, particular, and a little bit too much into themselves. I'm sure this is about the almighty dollar, and the "big d..k" contest at the fish cleaning tables, to get that picture of the biggest stringer, for job security, and ego. I'll put a big "El Paso" on that. Fishing is supposed to be fun, and after having my own 20ft, tunnel hull, in a slip in Aransas Pass, (for 8 years) the important thing is to get home safe, and have fun. (I did have an adventurous time, surfing the waves off of St., Joe's Island, on the way to wrecks and other secret spots) That describes Pat, except the stringers of the largest Speckled Trout I'd ever had. If you're fishing for meat, do the math, and go to a fish market. If you want an unforgettable, pleasurable experience, fish with Pat. No "boot camp" with him, just good teaching, fishing, and humor."

Jack was professional, helpful, nice and fun to be around! He's an overall great guy! We were really wanting Black/Red Drum and that's what we got! Lisa got 1 little Trout. Now, only 2 drums were keeper because the others were over the limit. We didn't mind throwing them back because it was so much fun to catch them. The 2 we were able to keep made for a great Dinner and just enough for us three. We were so elated! We had the best time! Thanks Capt. Jack!Though, I have fished all my life, Capt. Jack showed me the correct technique to reeling in a big black drum that was full of fight. He also assisted all of us with any questions that we had as well as baiting and casting. I had my father & sister with me. In which my father and I needed assistance to get in and out of the boat due to physical ailments. Capt. Jack assisted us in both areas. I will definitely use Captain Jack again when I'm back in the area to visit family and go fishing."

Located in a nostalgic RV complex with several retro themed houses and mobile homes.Absolutely the most pet friendly place we have ever stayed at in Rockport area, and we have stayed at quite a few. Quiet and just a few miles away from downtown Rockport and Port A if you want to go out to eat, go to the beach, or enjoy the nightlife. It is truly one of a kind! This was our last trip to the coast after I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and came home to begin home hospice and prepare for my final journey so it was extra special to my wife and I. We were both born on the Texas gulf coast and really loved to go to the coast almost every summer, but we really treasured this last visit and could not have chosen a more perfect place to stay. He has an amazing set-up that immediately told us he knew what he was doing. We had elements against us: full moon, hot and muggy day and competition with night wader fishermen. On top of that, we also had 4 rookies that included teenagers and a tween. Despite those odds, we all limited. We came home with 25 beautiful flounder. I only saw flounder after Eagle-eye Capt. Rick pointed them out to me. One of my flounder was a completely blind gigging experience; yet, I still got it! Capt. Rick is experienced, knowledgeable and infinitely patient. He is also extremely savvy on the water. He never lost site of the night fishermen who turned their lights off making them invisible and idiotic. I do not like to fish. At. All. However, I would go Flounder Gigging with Capt. Rick anytime. I can't recommend him enough!"
