BUS-Bar Under the Sun

We rarely hang around the downtown area, but my first time here was with a couple of girlfriends and I don't quite remember the cocktail I got, but it was so darn good! It was very refreshing and light, and it reminded me so much of one of my favorite cocktails from a bar in Sacramento that was called the Kiss & Tell. The food here is one the lighter side, which is fine but still so very delicious. We got the Potato Empanada, Chicken Quesadilla, and the Tuna Tostadas. All were great choices, but I will say that the empanadas are my favorite. The bartenders are really friendly and helpful when it comes to deciding on drinks, and they have awesome recommendations! Such a wonderful environment to hang out and dog friendly! We have taken our fur babies here once, and they just love to people watch!

Plenty of space and super lively! I loved the menu and enjoyed the atmosphere. I got a quesadilla with chicken! The chicken was $3.5 extra and just the quesadilla itself was like $10. It was super delicious though!The biggest downside is the live music its way too loud and you cant hear anyone talking to you even if they are right next to you.

Ended up here for a private event and will definitely be returning. Great atmosphere, cool location, so very close to other venues. The food was amazing(although catered for the event it was ALL very good). Bartenders were very attentive, the crew overall was amazing, everyone was very friendly. If you visit Corpus Christi be sure to check out the BUS. You won't be disappointed.

Moving back to CC has been fun as I get to check out all the new (to me) venues. This venue, BAR (stands for Bar Under the Sun) is located in downtown Corpus Christi was fun to check out. It happened to be a Sunday funday type of day - hung out on the outside cocktail garden area which is pet friendly while listening to a local musician who is a lead singer of a band here. This upbeat establishment use to be the Greyhound Bus Station back in the day. The decor was chic & classy and loved the offered yard games. The signature cocktails were divine. The bartenders were so impressive. Parking was easy breezy. The atmosphere was sexy & attractive. There is a great food (kitchen) option but was so hungry that I failed to capture photos of Achiote Grilled Chicken Sandwich & Pimento Cheese Firecrackers; maybe next time. I would definitely go back here for a future happy hour, etc.

We attended a send off for bride and groom! This place was nice to chill. We otdered Casa Azup shots. The food was ok.

They have a few selection of items to snack on, but well worth it. Drinks are good and the atmosphere is awesome on nice weather days

Got the Poblano burger with a side of fries and it was absolutely excellent. Overall one of the best burger/fry pairings I've had. The fries are cut in a unique wedge style, and double fried on the outside for a nice crisp. They were served with a dill-based sauce for dipping that went equally well with the burger. The burger itself was a good size, and popping with flavor. The majority of the poblano flavor comes from the whole roasted poblano itself, which is slide between the patty and bun. Also complimented by a garlic chipotle spread that was uniquely good in its own right. Overall, a great quality meal to get from a bar scene in downtown Corpus.The bar itself has a whole selection of unique cocktails but I just picked up a quick Nueces Chamoy pour for $5.

This is a pretty cool craft cocktail and patio bar in downtown Corpus and I enjoyed my time here with friends while visiting a month or so ago. Very trendy!Apparently this place used to be an old Greyhound bus station turned bar, Bar Under the Sun (BUS), perfectly fitting and super cool history of the building. The bar has weekly cocktail specials, happy hours, food trucks, live music, yard games, and more. BUS is also pet-friendly!The margaritas we got on the patio bar were pretty good and the bartender was super nice, but I do wish they were playing music outside. I'm not sure if this is standard, but when we went around 10 PM on Saturday night, there was no music! Super weird but not too big of a deal. I think a live musician just finished up which is may explain the lack of music? I'd definitely come here again and recommend it to people looking for some drinks in a cool, vibrant setting.

Love this place!!! 10/10 would recommend! My drink was fabulous! The ambiance was perfect! I will be going back!
