This place is a happy place and might be haunted, but it's definitely a great meal, just definitely come hungry as it is all you can eat. Just like your grandma did it! Can't go wrong here!

The restaurant us located in an old hotel built over a hundred and fifty years ago.First things first: Best rolls I've had in forty years...bought their cookbook ($20) just to get the recipe! The rest of the meal was delicious too. This place is actually a buffet with the home style food resting on what appear to be 100 year old stoves...plenty of vegetables, salad makings, ham, pot roast, turkey and dressing and a variety of desserts. (I am guessing the offerings vary from day to day.) Nothing unique here, just good down home cookin'. Ambiance is old country. The staff very friendly. Sunday meal is $12 and that includes tea and tax.Notice: cash only. Limited hours. Can't believe many of you will find your way to Blessing, Texas, but if you do, treat yourself to a really good meal right here.

Some friends and I wanted to visit the famous Blessing Hotel Coffee Shop and decided to stay the night at the hotel. The hotel is very vintage. Staff are nice and walls are thin. You can hear your neighbor's TV through the wall. Beds are old and squeak. My friend and I heard a couple having sex through our door from across the hall. Price is very cheap. $25 for a 1 bed without a bathroom, $35 for a 1 bed with a bathroom, and $37 for a 2 bed without a bathroom per night. This place is usually packed with construction workers who are in town for work and need a cheap place to stay, so call ahead for availability. There is a train that passes by the hotel every once in awhile and that can be heard through the entire hotel. The hotel is much more like a frat house or a dorm with stand alone bathrooms and showers in the halls for those rooms without an attached bathroom. While our stay, my friend and I killed at least 5 roaches and 3 spiders. Every 20 minutes or so we would see a roach run up the wall or onto the refrigerator. On the plus side, the microwave and refrigerator work nicely. MOTS: Cheap place, nice staff, old building.

I have been twice now to visit this Texas landmark. The main reason is to enjoy the home cooking. The food tastes like your grandma is in the kitchen. So tasty and hot! It's all you can eat and I usually go back through the line at least once. The vegetables are cooked to perfection. Such an enjoyable experience, you truly step back in time when you enter this hotel. This last time we met so many kind fellow customers who shared their love for this place and what it offers. Cannot wait to go back, I'm bringing my 88 yr old mom to enjoy as well on my next trip.

Awful Thanksgiving meal, just awful. Ran out of turkey and offered dried out fried chicken. Hotel was interesting historically. I won't be back.

The Blessing Hotel! Oh my, if you like home cooking, you will love the food here. Fried chicken, sausage, beef tips and gravy, and more sides than I can list. I will say that the green beans, pinto beans, and yellow squash were delicious! All served from the stove, so everything is hot. The dessert was peach cobbler and slices of cake. I found gravy at the back when I went back for another small bite of chicken. Highly recommend a stop if you are in the area. You can see what an old hotel from around the turn of the century that is still in operation looks like.
