Chicken fried steak is easy to get wrong but this one was utterly perfect. The right ratio of breading to meat and full of flavor.

My mother recently bought a house down in Palmilla, so when she told us there was a fantastic restaurant inside the community, I was so excited to try it. Luckily, that excitement didn't let me down. I've only been there during off-season, so it's usually pretty easy to be seated. Their pastas are fantastic, but my favorite is the shrimp and grits. It's got a mild heat to it and the grits are the perfect consistency. The drinks are always really good, too.

Super upscale little eatery with a great ambiance off the beaten track in Port A. Serious golf club vibes with a cracking menu on offer. All of the waitstaff were phenomenal too! Our whole party felt very pampered and spoilt

We ventured here for brunch on our way out of town. On a day that was ridiculously cold so patio seating was out, but I can appreciate how nice that would have been if the weather had cooperated. Instead we were seated indoors and the whole vibe was a combination of local cafe meets fine dining. It was modern and clean and posh... but warm and inviting. The food was lovely as well. My partner enjoyed his chicken fried steak breakfast while I had the signature crab cake Benedict and the. We shared the croissant beignets. Perfect all around. The service was also really attentive without being vultures. Zero complaints and will definitely go back next time we're in Port A

Sunday brunch for a celebration weekend in Port Arthur. Great little place with an upscale set of ingredients, recipes and techniques. Lightly breaded and crispy chicken fried steak that wasn't over-sized, the right mix of salty and spicy in the sausage gravy, but a soft hand on the mostly crab crab cake Benedict (vs a mostly bready cake).A nice twist on the beignet with croissant dough made for a lighter, flakier take perfect for ending brunch with coffee.. and a raspberry coulis with just enough acidity to tame the sweetness.Definitely a treat to end a long weekend on, and likely a staple for us on Sunday mornings in Port A now.

Stopped by Black Marlin for dinner this evening... it's basically a clubhouse-restaurant-bar for a golf course. That's not a negative, just level setting on what the venue is. It's very nice, well decorated, very comfortable. The staff is super nice, friendly and gracious, very helpful with the menu.We started off with a Lemon Drop Martini and a Lemon Berry Mule. Both were good, but very sweet. As a counter-balance we ordered the crab cakes appetizer which was very good. A little more filler than we prefer, but very well-seasoned and pan-fried very well. And the spicy aioli was delicious. For entrees we followed some of our Yelpers suggestions and tried shrimp and grits and fish and chips. One of the advantages of off-season dining in Port A is that places are not crowded, and food is usually served HOT! That was the case tonight. Both entrees were just off the stove/out of the fryer, very hot and good. The shrimp and grits had a very creamy sauce, perhaps a bit much for the dish, the shrimp and grits were drowning! LOL The fish and chips were well fried and the sides made everything super tasty. We had Blue Bell at home so we passed on dessert. We may stop by later this week to try some of the more "lunch" dishes, e.g., fish tacos and the burger. Black Marlin provided a solid dinner tonight, we recommend dinner there, and perhaps lunch too!

Yummy in my tummy! We visited Black Marlin during a last minute beach getaway before the cold of fall finally set in. I was surprised by the creative dishes and high quality ingredients, and found it to be my favorite restaurant in Port Aransas. If you're looking for a fun cocktail, I recommend the Port Aransas Hurricane; it was deliciously fruity and came in a slightly comical large hurricane glass. My friend ordered the Tropical Mangonada Margarita and was also pleased. To eat, we started off with the baked Brie with crostini. It was perfectly warm and gooey, and although it was a lot for two people, we couldn't waste a single bite. For the main courses, we ordered the hamburger salad and chicken piccata. Both dishes were delightful. Although the ingredients seemed simple, the flavors were complex, with a housemade thousand island dressing tying everything together, and this may be my favorite hamburger salad ever!I'd definitely recommend Black Marlin to anyone visiting Port Aransas on vacation, and will be sure to come back myself the next time we drive down.

Black Marlin hit the spot for a Sunday brunch with some girl friends. Since it was prime time, I booked a quick reservation for bar seating. Luckily we were seated around the corner of the bar so we could all still see each other. The wait for a walk in was about 1 hour otherwise, and we did not want to sit outside! This is a restaurant within the Palmilla resort, and it is easy to find. Our server was friendly and attentive. I loved all of the different flavors of mimosas they offer, and we all took turns passing ours around for each other to try. We split the croissant beignets and I ordered the scrapple and bacon benedict. Being from Maryland, you NEVER see scrapple on the menu in TX, so I HAD to try it! The benedict was served on french toast, so the dish had a great sweet and savory taste which I love. We all enjoyed what we ordered and we had a great time here.

The service was great. We sat outside with our dogs. Nice people. Nice place. However the food was not. The portion was small so you think it's going to be good right? Like gourmet right? Hahaha. Wrong. We ordered eggs Benedict and there was very little sauce. That's ok because it wasn't right. It was broken and too thin and too lemony. The poached eggs bordered on hard cooked. The slice of (extra salty) ham was super thick! I did not eat much and they didn't care or ask if I enjoyed my food.

We came here for lunch based on Yelp reviews. First of all finding this place was very difficult and no signage that's visible from the road. Very nice place and very attentive service. My wife ordered fried shrimp and I had fried fish sandwich. Food was good. Both of us had iced tea and no alcohol. Total bill with tip was $71.00. A little rich for us for lunch.

Table of 6 and restaurant week. Ladies all had shrimp and grits which were excellent. The men all opted for fish and chips. They literally got two skinny pieces of fish and a scatter of French fries. We were so embarrassed as we had recommended the fish. Want even enough there to feed a five year old. Don't order the fish and chips . The express martini was excellent
