Friendly staff, very clean, excellent food and stylish, historic, beautiful home/ambiance. Bring your swimsuit in the warm season to enjoy their beautiful, relaxing, historic pool! Recommend lunch/dinner at Kloesel's Steakhouse & Bar in Moulton, TX and/or the Red Vault in Flatonia, TX.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. I had tore my MCL right before our trip and had informed the innkeeper Tiffany of my concerns being able to go up and down stairs. Not only did she re book me in the Booth Suite which is a gorgeous suite on the ground floor, when we arrived she had put an ice pack in the freezer in our suite. Clint the owner is caring and wonderful as well. We felt like family. If I were to write how amazing this place is I would run out of room instead, try this place out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

My bosses completely floored me this year by giving me the best work Christmas present ever - a gift certificate to weekend at a bed & breakfast with my hubby. SWEET. So - off to Gonzales we went. Gonzales is a tiny little Texas town that claims a corner of Texan history since the first battle of the Texas Revolution was fought there. Belle Oaks Inn was built in 1912 and in a Southern Plantation-Style. It's a gorgeous old mansion, but really the most stunning this is the decor. Someone has done a LOT of collecting, and it feels a bit like you're in a Clue game when you're sitting in the library in front of the fire-place surrounded by antiques. In any case, it was romantic and beautiful. The rooms are pretty small but gorgeous and comfortable. There is wi-fi and cable tv and a dvd player, as well as a mini-fridge. There were two chocolate dipped stawberries waiting for us, and the breakfast downstairs was delicious every morning. There is an beautiful porch upstairs and downstairs if the weather is nice, and a quick trip around the grounds confirmed that it would be just gorgeous in the summer. The owners were very nice and helpful and friendly.Given how old the place is, it's no surprise that the bathroom needed a little help. Clearly most of it had been updated, but still our bathtub faucet leaked and it wasn't quite as nice as the rest of the room. Nice spot for a romantic weekend getaway!

Whoa. If I could give this place 10 stars I would! This place is really amazing, magic, beautiful and so elegant! It's a very unique and interesting bed & breakfast with beautiful antique decoration (huge collection of pretty and interesting items) that takes you to a different time and it feels like living a dream for a bit. It looks and feels like a palace or castle on the inside, and they sure treat you like royalty here! They take care of every single detail, and make you feel like a vip and like you are home. Everything is super clean and smells lovely everywhere, they have great toiletries (bathtub salts, sewing kit, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and more!) they have a tv, wifi, mini fridge with sodas, water and pellegrino water, jacuzzi tub and coffee machine in the room! I really loved it, is so romantic and nostalgic and elegant and just beautiful I totally recommend this place to everyone specially for couples and special occasions. This place is more than just a bed & breakfast is a whole experience! Is like being in a disney movie or something. They also have a pool, and not many rooms so it feels like is your own mansion! Is just perfect. Oh and their breakfast is a w e s o m e!

I have rented rooms at the Belle Oaks Inn in the past for my running team. My wife and I have also stayed there. I think it's awesome! It's relaxing and close to down town Gonzales. The property is large for being in town and there is a nice Koi pond outside. Keith and Susan are the current managers and they do their best to make people happy!

We stayed here over the weekend. The hosts, Rob and his wife, immediately made us feel at home, showing us the property and sharing the history. There is alot to see in this little town but home base was great. The room was spanking clean with ambiance fitting the history filled place. The breakfasts (of course) were excellent created by our hostess being an excellent and trained chef. Excellence all around!Robert and Cindy Baker9/24-25/2022

We (a couple) stayed at Belle Oaks in Gonzales one night, October 12, and were delighted with the architecture, furnishings, breakfast, and the entire experience. When we arrived, Clint gave us a tour and history of the house and then showed us to our room (Hunt Room), which was a medium-sized bedroom with en suite bathroom, a closet (with robes, iron, and ironing board), a pantry with glasses and small refrigerator, a king (or was it queen?) bed, and two very comfortable upholstered chairs. The room was elegantly decorated, as is the entire B&B. The B&B sits on a very large lot, and the grounds are nicely landscaped.Gonzales has a number of restored Victorian homes, and we drove by a dozen or so of them and then visited a small museum on the history of the town. Afterwards, we sat on wicker chairs on Belle Oaks' balcony and read for an hour or so. That evening, the house was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and we slept well. Breakfast was fresh fruit, pastries, coffee or tea, and an egg-and-veggie frittata--tasty.We visit Gonzales twice a year, and we'll certainly be returning to this gorgeous B&B.

My feedback is somewhat overdue: I'm writing this comment a year after I stayed at Belle Oaks Inn . . . I was looking on Yelp for information about bed and breakfast properties in another city, was reminded of my enjoyable stay in Gonzales, and I decided to go ahead and submit this now. In a nutshell: I thoroughly enjoyed my November 2011 stay at Belle Oaks Inn. I stayed only one night -- not planned in advance -- during a drive back to Houston. I called the inn late on a weekday afternoon, and Michelle was very helpful in telling me about the available room in the Carriage House and reserving it for me for that night. On my way to the inn, I drove around the courthouse square and was pleased to see a new restaurant/bar (Running M Bar & Grill) had opened in the old hardware store spot next to the Lynn Theater. Gonzales is a city I've known my entire life, thanks to a couple of generations of family members who used to live there; I always like returning and seeing that new businesses have opened.Anyway, when I checked in at Belle Oaks Inn, both Michelle and her husband Mark were there to greet me. Before heading to my room, I asked Michelle if she'd tried the new restaurant. She said she hadn't, but would soon. A couple of hours later, much to my surprise I ran into Michelle and Mark at Running M. I was by myself, and they invited me to join them at their table. I appreciated their hospitality and enjoyed visiting with them. I really can't think of anything that I would have preferred to have been different about my Belle Oaks stay. From the quality of the room, including choice and upkeep of furnishings, and overall look and maintenance of the property; to availability of wifi service; the bountiful, well-presented breakfast served the next morning; and the unexpected (and very tasty) cookie left for me that night on the nightstand -- I give all high marks. I noticed one minor item that could've used a little attention, but did not affect my stay: while the Carriage House shower was running, some water still flowed out of the tub faucet below it. (It was a greater amount of water than I usually see flowing from tub faucets while showering, so it seemed like it could be wasting a bit of water. I'm all for efficiency!) Given the attention to detail regarding everything at Belle Oaks, the shower/tub faucet probably was tweaked shortly after I left! Special tips: If you're a fan of quiche, be sure to try the quiche served at breakfast, if it's available while you're there. And if you have time and the weather's good, stroll around the grounds and/or sit on the porch.Actually, there IS one thing about my stay that I would have preferred to have been different: I wish my schedule would've allowed me to stay longer!
