Beachgate Condo Suites & Hotel

My wife and I enjoyed our stay and loved Port Aransas. The condo had a large living room/kitchen and a single queen bedroom, one of the couches was a sleeper sofa. We had a private balcony that had a good view of the pool and a limited view of the beach. A full kitchen with pots and pans and silver ware, stove, full sized refrigerator, microwave, and a washer and dryer. The room could have been a little cleaner and the beach view could have been better. Loved the elevator.

Nice proximity to the beach Rooms look clean and looks like a good concept W the kitchenette and all but the AC leaked making the walkway slippery mildewy . Also the room had this horrible smell we couldn't pin point where it came from. I suspect it was the leaking AC unit. The older lady scheduling is not polite or even friendly. It was just ok and I'm not entirely sure we would stay there again especially at $430 a night, probably not. I guess I don't mind paying that much if the room quality mirrors the price. It sucks being in a room for almost a week that has a stench. It's not like we could pack up and go somewhere else on a moments notice for a holiday weekend. I just wish a little more pride went into the place.

Room 435 is so nice! It smells clean and there is no sand in crevices! It's tidy and so comfortable! They have new swipe cards this year! Thank you!

Not so friendly staff, booked thru airbnb which description was not accurate. That's what you get for paying the cheap price on the beach. Over all we had a good time. Not the cleanest but still maintained. I'm not sure if we had a next door neighbor or the washer room was right next to use but it smelled like drainage the night before we left, it was a really strong smell but since the staff was rude from check in I didn't even bother to talk to them again for this issue.

Booked a 2 bedroom condo for long weekend thru Expedia. At check in (once in room) realized we only had one room and two couches. Advised by front office they do not honor 3rd party booking sites. I wound up paying more for the one bedroom by double than if I had booked thru their site. Rude office staff advised couches were sleepers ( they were both broke). Reclining chair was broke & not usable. Overall condo many problems with dirty broken items. They refused to credit any portion of what was paid. Then, to add insult to injury? A charge of 56$ to my card several days after check out was made. I called & advised it was for pet pee on the tile floor. WE HAD NO PETS!! She advised it would be refunded. Over two months now & it never has. My advice is steer clear of this place. I WAS a loyal customer & had stayed there half a dozen times. Not again! I did not deserve to be treated that way! And if they don't honor 3rd party sites, then don't advertise or allow bookings!

Spent 2 nights at the Beachgate. Motel room #438, end/corner room.It was fabulous! 3rd floor (they have an elevator!)3 windows, 2 overlooking the dunes/gulf. We were able to see dolphins right from the window!Spacious & good kitchen amenities. Quiet & family friendly. Went mid September & it's like we had the entire beach to ourselves! Quick walk to the beach & a restaurant next door in easy walking distance. If you want, you can park your car & never use it the entire time!We went during a full moon & watching it rise over the Gulf of Mexico was spectcular! Then we were able to catch the sunrise the next morning at the same time that full moon was setting. Just WOW!Rates very reasonable. We will definitely be going back.

Everything was all good. No complaints. Easy access to beach and everything around town.

Website pictures of the room sizes were misleading due to angle of photographer. More misleading was the balcony view which implies the rooms have a private balcony, reality is the balcony view is the long outside walkway that connects all the units.

The good points first, it was on the beach, the staff were friendly and helpful with a couple of minor problems.The main problem for me was a bed that was uncomfortable, so much so that I got up in the middle of the night and booked my standard Hilton hotel room in Victoria for the next night instead of staying for a second night as I originally planned before the long drive home. But I needed aa good night's sleep before travel so I took on the added expense. The problem was a foam mattress, that would not support my weight, 6'3, 245 lb after 4 hours it was compressed down to the hard plywood underneath. A good mattress would be in order, it would be cheap and worth the cost.

We stayed in room 237. It is a one bedroom condo and has a private patio that looks right at the ocean. It was an easy walk to the beach with its own private entrance to the beach so you can drive and park or walk there. There is a place next to the pool to wash off after the beach which was nice. We really enjoyed room 237. The office staff was also super sweet and they sell cute jewelry for $5 each. We will definitely book our next stay there!
