Bayside Seafood Restaurant

If you're looking for great shrimp this is the place in Victoria! Their catfish is great too! The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs. It's quiet and not super busy, at least not when I have been there. This place was recommended by the locals.

This restaurant was recommended by some locals so we gave it a shot. I'm trying being vegetarian so I was looking for something veggie and no seafood. However, my colleague was excited to try some seafood. I had the vegetable fried rice and it was very good. I really enjoyed the broccoli, onion, zucchini and carrot. I put the raw cucumber and tomato to the side. It seemed weird to be a garnish on the dish. The salad that came with our meals was literally a bowl of lettuce a couple of slices of not so ripe tomato and some carrot slivers. Not impressive. My favorite part of the experience was when my colleague asked our food server about her choice between two seafood dishes, she very casually said, "I don't know, I don't like seafood". Hahahahaha, seems like an interesting career choice!

Good,fresh food made in a timely manner. Friendly owners and staff. Very attentive and helpful. Try the Gator Bites, they are great.

Drove up from Rockport. Great selection and prices. We both had the 8 grilled shrimp, with slaw and veggies. Tasty shrimp. I ordered the stir fry to take home. I think 3-4 meals from the container. We'll go back.First pic is before. Second is after. Third is the huge take out container. And the large bathroom was very clean. This place is a winner if you are in Victoria.

This place came by recommendation of a "must stop" on our way through town. Here's the break down.Interior: smh. It was actually pretty horrible. Nothing made sense on the walls or tables. Not romantic. The place needs a significant remodel. No walls to cut noise so the interior was noisy.our table was a little sticky.Service: this was tricky. No one knew they were working our table so we didn't get a waitress till about 10 minutes after being seated. There was obvious confusion between the manager, hostess and the waiter/waitresses. The food though was really good and would be the only thing that would get me to come back. Decent portions but very flavorful with the exception of the stuffed crab. I would pass next time. They appear to be know for their shrimp which was delicious. I had the crawfish tails, breaded oysters and fish which were all really good. The calamari was thick cut and slightly over cooked. 5 selections on the kids menu's.For 7 people we spent just north of $160. I wouldn't feel the need to stop by as I travel through. But it's decent.

Do not go here if you want seafood at a coastal restaurant. The staff were friendly and funny. The breading on the fried seafood lunch was the worst I've ever had. I wasn't even sure where I needed to eat the stuffed crab because the whole thing was covered in that nasty breading. The appetizer with egg rolls was terrible also (way too much overpowering cabbage and sweet and sour sauce barely had any flavor and was runny like water). The stuffed jalapeños were the same as at Sonic- except burned to black. The burger was just average although the bun was good. So burger and seafood lunch and the appetizer and 2 drinks for a lunch special- $50. Go toIndianola instead.

The egg rolls were some of the best I've had. The fried shrimp was great also and very reasonably priced. Service is impeccable. We'll be back!

We were traveling through on our way home to East Texas and we googled restaurants in the area. The high reviews won us over. The minute we stepped in we were wowed. This is a mom and pop owned place but don't let it fool you. This was the best surf and turf meal we have ever had!!! Ive travels quite a bit and have had numerous seafood dishes. This place definitely is in the game. The shrimp and fish are hand breaded, not the frozen deep fried junk. Fresh flaky and cooked to perfection. And the baked potatoes are amazingly delicious and not at all dry. They drip with butter and ooey goodness.

We visit Victoria occasionally to see family, and this is their "go-to" spot to take us. I've always meant to leave a review and I'm finally following through. It's my understanding it changed ownership this year, but we've been going for a few years and I didn't notice any changes (except no beer because they are between licenses). Bayside is a no-frills seafood restaurant, but the food is very good and never greasy. The fries are the slightly battered kind and always crispy. Our family always gets combos of fried catfish and shrimp, and even my picky son loves Bayside. Also, the iced tea is great and they'll do half unsweet and half sweet without making a face at you. Our servers have always been no frills as well, but they are prompt.

cant say it was a good experience, i found a fingernail in my food and the manager proceeded to tell me it couldn't be a fingernail because fingernails aren't yellow... i've been sick ever since i left that restaurant. i had a burger and i was actually enjoying my meal and the atmosphere until i found a fingernail on the french fries. absolutely sickening, i lost my whole appetite so i left more than half of the burger and the fries the manager had remade for me. i would never come back, it's sad because the servers were great at their jobs.. i just don't think i would want to eat at a place where the manager can't identify what we found in my food lol.
