First time here and it was just an OK experience. I usually go out of my way to support local bike shops so I may still come back here but only because it's one of only two LBS in Corpus. i.e. I'll probably check their competitor first, since I had a better experience over there. So.... I was pleased with the initial warm welcome and with the product I purchased. Not a lot of interaction required since I knew specifically what, a 9 speed chain, didn't care what brand. Incidentally, KMC's the only brand they carry but luckily for me, that's the brand of chain I prefer if given a choice. If one is looking for a higher end brand, best shop at the other place in town. The other things I like is that this place serves more than just the road and MTB crowd; they've got a good selection of comfort bikes, commuter bikes, bike path bikes, and kids bikes and that they support the local cycling community. What I was not pleased with was the staff's less than helpful response (immediately after checkout) when I asked if they had any tips or advice specific to installing/removing the master link if I don't have the master link tool. The cashier's response was "Your best bet is to check YouTube" which pretty much made me regret ever stepping in there. Seriously?..... one of the reasons one goes to a LBS is to receive personal service and, for us aspiring home wrenchers, some friendly tips and advice. Sure I can Google and YouTube, I have and I will, but if I make the effort to spend my money at a local shop and then in turn get brushed off like that, I'm better off order everything from Amazon. Anyway.... rant over. I wish the best of luck to you, Bay Area Bicycles.

They are the best!!! Always providing TOP NOTCH services and advice. We are from MN so they are our "go-to" bike store in the winter. They have never disappointed us. High quality! We would highly recommend!

I have never received more stellar service in Corpus Christi than with Eric and the rest of the team at Bay Area Bicycles. I didn't think Santa's reach stretched this far, but it indeed does through the staff at BAB. When I couldn't get a bike they helped me find one. They stayed late to assemble it so that I wouldn't have to stress out before Christmas. COVID has been difficult for everyone. Eric and the team at BAB extended a glimmer of hope and faith in humanity by truly going above and beyond during this difficult time. Don't waste your time at any other bike shop in CC. You will walk away disappointed because you will NOT receive the same smiles and red carpet service that you will at Bay Area Bicycles. A truly happy customer, Monica E.

I had a service issue and wasn't sure how serious the problem might be. They helped me immediately, and figured out the problem quickly. Then they fixed it while I waited, answered all my questions, and didn't charge me since it was a quick fix. They couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful.

Wry friendly and helpful. Told me how long it would take to fix my bikes and they delivered. One was not easy to fix, but they did it. Picking them up today.
