More of your Mexican favorites here than the Mexican grocery store. This grocery store is located at the intersection end of Kingsbury St (Hwy 90) and bypass 123. Upon entering, I noticed the shelves were well stocked and neat. The floors were in need of buffing and there was a musty smell, though, this is an older building. Every employee I passed said Good morning, even the manager. The produce was fresh and cheap (cucumbers big as a donkey's woohoo 50 cents). They had Mexican candies, tons of chicharons, churritos, Mexican sodas, juices, 20 kinds of hot sauces and chamoys from Mexico, bread from Naeglins, and Pan bread from a bakery in Houston, and cafe du' monde and French Market brand chicory coffee in a can.Oh, they also make their own jams and tons of pickled products (over 40), and all around $4.99, which is about 4 dollars cheaper than Bucees. One thing lacking is I would like to see a small deli making hot tacos like the HEB does also in Seguin.

I am new to this area (Schertz,TX) and I will avoid HEB when ever possible. It's just too busy for me...gets my anxiety going. I found Arlan's and decided this will be my first stop for my groceries. I walk in and feel relaxed. There is no sense of urgency like I feel at HEB. Everyone is friendly and helpful. From the workers to the customers! I just wish they had prepackaged salads.

The meat market closes at 4 and if the meat you want is not available, too bad! I found the manager to be rude and uncaring. Won't go again. I complained to the head office via email and they didn't get back to me. I won't support this kind of business.
