What a wonderful piece of history and elegance smack dab in the middle of Duval County. Lunch was an unexpected slice of heaven (we had the Tuna Sandwich, the Chicken Salad, the house salad, the Chicken Breast Sandwich, their signature pasta, and the tiny single serve gourmet cheesecakes, and didn't leave a single morsel behind -- even with our normally finicky brood), and with an ever-changing (and reasonably priced) menu, we just may have to return a couple of times before we leave to see what else Chef Fermin has to offer. The building itself is right out of a Jane Austen novel, from the wrap-around porch to the white picket fence, with each of the rooms individually and tastefully decorated by Anne herself. Just stepping through the doorway is a million miles away from San Diego and a decadent escape for anyone for an hour, a girls' night out, an awards' ceremony, or a romantic weekend. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. You'll feel like you just got home and just went on vacation all at the same time. Congratulations on your grand opening, Anne & company! We're so proud to have you here and wish you all the best.

The Bluebonnet Inn has seen a decline over the past few years. It is a shame, because as others mentioned, the building is fabulous and the furniture is lovely. But Ann appears to be in need of help. A good maid and part-time cook would serve her well. Here is what we found: dirty floors and rugs, dust bunnies under the bathroom cabinets, broken A/C (on a 100 degree day), "amenities" that consisted of items left behind by previous visitors (shampoo, body wash, etc.). There was more, but suffice it to say it was disappointing. I hope she can find it in her to hire a couple of part time people, or perhaps a B&B manager because the Bluebonnet has great potential.

"The Little Old Con Lady from San Diego, Texas"What a little old con lady!!!!! This place might have once been great but it is a solid dump now. It's supposed to be a fancy bed and breakfast, but in the four weeks we stayed there, we were served breakfast twice and both times it was awful.Anne really made us---well me---feel sorry for her; although my husband saw right through her and warned me she is a snake. She had all these sob stories about the town wanting to take her down and put her out of business and the mob wants to run her out and take her property. Well, I fell for her "little old lady scam" and ended up cleaning her place, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming,etc....not a single thank you, nor any appreciation at all...like she expected me to do this, all the while as we paid her weekly rate. But the doozy is what she did today, Lord have mercy! When we left on Sunday, Anne let us leave a bag of our belongings in the front closet. Today is Wednesday, so my husband went back to collect our things and low and behold, she had the police waiting on him....a set up! She told the police there was some pot in the common area and it belonged to him. Are you kidding me, talk about a snake!! My husband---who doesn't even use drugs---was furious and had a stand off with the cop for not having probable cause. While we were there, the Bluebonnet Inn had other guests, a big wedding while with a lot of drunk people, and since we left on Sunday, the entire place has been booked by a family in town for a funeral. But instead of pointing her crooked finger anywhere else, Anne chose to slander us and accuse my husband of having this tiny bit amount of pot. Who knows who it belonged to and for that little amount...who cares! Just goes to show you what kind of a nasty heart she has!Oh, and by the way, she did not clean the place after the wedding. In the four weeks that we stayed, she left the kitchen filthy; the front party room is full of stains; the dining room carpet is stained, worn, coming up all over; trash and filth with the curtains falling down; the wood floors are sticky and nasty; dust everywhere; the common bathrooms downstairs disgusting, old pee and poop stains from weeks or months ago.... Nor did she clean our room once, or even offer. I can't believe that I fell for her con and really felt bad for her. Now I know why she never got married: she is not a good person, a user of people with no regards for your comfort....!!!Oh, yeah: after we spent $100 on groceries, the refrigerator went out and we lost half our food: Not only did "Con Lady Anne" not offer to reimburse us or comp us a free night, but on top of our loss, she ate our food!Lord have mercy, stay away from this woman and her filthy establishment!!!Don't say that you haven't been warned!

I was very impressed with this inn and the service that Anne and her staff provides. We only went for lunch after a church function, however Anne gave us a tour of the house. The rooms were all clean, new, and very nicely decorated. Definitely a beautiful piece of history in the middle of Duval County. I recommend stopping by sometime.

I spend a Saturday night at Anne's Bluebonnet B&B and I found the establishment to be very posh and comfortable. Anne, herself, took very good care of us with a delicious breakfast and threw in lunch, as well. This Inn is the new jewel of San Diego, TX and I would very much like to stay here again.
