ABC Pediatrics

I have met many pediatricians as my husband was prior military, meaning we've moved quite a few times and have switched doctors just as much. When we moved to Corpus I originally seen one pediatrician and she was not great. We switched to abc pediatrics after hearing the rave and ended up with Dr. Chua. I am SO glad we ended up in her office. I cannot say enough great things about her. She is so nice, professional, and thorough. She doesn't rush in and out of the office. She takes her time to listen to all of your concerns. No question is ever too stupid. She will explain everything so that you'll understand. She truly cares about you! One time I couldn't get an appointment with her because she was booked for the day. I seen her at the store and told her about it. She told me that if that ever happened again, to send in a message through her nurse. Sure enough the next time that happened, she made the time for us by squeezing us in her busy schedule! We love her!!!! She's the best! Every doctor I've seen at abc pediatrics as been great -- as when your doctor is unavailable you're able to schedule with another. I personally prefer Dr. chua though!My only complaint is her office staff. The front staff and appointment/scheduling is the worst! They are rude and unprofessional. It almost makes it seem like the rest of the office would be a nightmare, but overall the doctors are great! The front staff suck but if you can get passed that, you won't regret it!

Only 1 star because I had to leave one. Wow! The office told us to bring our child in after she was born; we called to make an appointment and the office representative said they do not take our insurance. I told them it was okay and I would pay cash. The representative then proceeded to tell me that it would be fraud if I paid cash, because if I have cash to pay, we do not need insurance. What the hell is going on there? It is not fraud to pay cash for services, period.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Canales! We've been with her for almost 8 years and adore her. Her bedside manner with my boys is excellent. She always answers all our questions and we never feel rushed. A few times, the wait was long but that is rare unless it's cold and flu season! Seen a few other doctors when it's a sick visit and Dr. Canales is out, but we've liked most of them. Great office!

Dr. Ashvin Patel is great. Yes you may have to wait to be seen, but you do everywhere else. I also like the fact that I can walk in without an appointment. It takes longer, but my kid gets to see the same doctor every time. The staff is friendly and they take debit. They take BCBS insurance as well as medicade. Sure the building is a little out dated and the waiting room is boring with broken chairs, but who cares about that. My kid sees the same doctor and feels comfortable with him. He answers all my questions, they have a pharmacy in the front of the building or I can have the scripts sent to a closer pharmacy. He is a wonderful man, and is very good with kids. I definitely recommend this doctor to anyone.

I need to find a different pediatrician for my son, the one I have is good, but the office clerks are rude and with no manners.

Being brand new to the area, I was nervous about finding a new pediatrician for my toddler.The office called me back promptly after I left a message, and Nurse Debbie was very friendly and helpful, as my son was a new patient.Fortunately we were able to see Dr. Chua quickly, the same day, as he had an ear infection.At the appointment, the wait time was very short (under five minutes) and there was no paperwork to fill out-- which was helpful with my squirmy toddler.The office itself has a separate "well" child area, which I think is important.As for Dr. Chua, she immediately came in wanting to play a "game" with my child while she examined him, and had her pocket full of toys and other distractions. She was not only professional, but creative and entertaining as well. She seems to truly love what she does.Nothing but good things to say about ABC Pediatrics so far. What a relief to find!

We love Dr. Tessa Perez at ABC Pediatrics. We know our daughter is in good hands with her. She takes the time to explain and patiently listens to my questions and takes time to answer all of them until I'm comfortable. She has excellent bedside manner and we never feel rushed. My daughter loves her and I know she genuinely cares about my daughter too. For the few times we have had a sick visit when Dr. Perez is out or on a weekend, we have seen other physicians in the practice and have been happy with each and every one of them - Dr. Chua, Dr. Martin, Dr. Guthrie & Dr. Sherron. Highly recommend ABC Pediatrics.

Dr. Guthrie is my son's favorite. He is 9 and I am so glad someone like Dr. Guthrie has been taking care of him from day one.
